Sick of teleporting laggy red bar MF's, servers need to be better in D2 to eliminate the red bar lagfest that is PVP

The game caters too much to bad connections. They need to have the same game experience as their connection. If your connection is shit then so is your game
-
The money they spent on this new website interface would have made a nice down payment on private servers.
-
There are no servers when your actually playing in the crucible buddy, it's a P2P connection. Only time servers are used is in the match making. I saw players teleporting and not taking damage in the beta so expect the same when the full game is released.
-
1 ReplyThese problems will continue in D2. Bungie isn't fooling anyone with this bs "hybrid network" nonsense.
-
Get used to disappointment, because Bungie is using the same server structure and netcode for D2 that they used for D1.
-
I hope you're used to disappointment.
-
40 RepliesThe issue is that there was never servers, to begin with. The only servers where the login and matchmaking servers. Destiny is P2P (Player to Player), D2 is P2P.

69 RepliesEdited by BigTexB007: 8/20/2017 7:39:18 PMThey won't be. It'll be same old shit with less players for previously 6v6 game types. Dunno about anyone else... I'd rather deal with the connection bullshit before I'd like to see smaller team sizes.
-
13 RepliesIt won't be. They are using the exact same tech.
-
your gonna be upset buddy. D2 is just reskinned D1. all the same problems
-
LOL You know they won't be. Activision doesn't give a shit.
-
They went to strictly 4v4 in part because it was easier than improving their networking to where it could handle 6v6 and larger. In other words: they didn't bother improving their networking; instead, they simply reduced the number of players that could play together. Lame and lazy, Bungie. Lame and lazy.
-
1 ReplyYou might as well cancel your preorder. It's been made 4v4 for a reason - the servers can't handle 6v6 anymore, so Bungie is taking the cheap way out and making the lobby smaller instead of simply upgrading their servers. No doubt this asinine idea comes from Activision whose only goal is to run the Destiny franchise into the ground and ditch the burning car when it finally dies on them. In D2, Bungie takes a massive shit on PvE and wipes their ass with player feedback.

4 RepliesEdited by HyperVigiIant: 8/22/2017 2:13:30 PMSince PVP will still be P2P, games will continue to lag as long as the chosen hosts have a crappy connection, or players' pings to the host is high.
-
4 RepliesEdited by SpacemanSpff434: 8/21/2017 4:33:09 PMDoes no one do any research? Dedicated servers won't fix red bars, they only has minimal impact on lag. There is always a connection difference between player connection and the servers are always working to estimate where you are in the game. Dedicated servers do not eliminate lag. The minimally reduce it.
-
>Thinking it's going to be better Is the same thing. Peer to peer
-
D2 servers better be better than D1
D2 will also be peer-to-peer.
-
9 RepliesThere were no servers for D1. But judging by the beta I doubt their "hybrid" system will be much better.
-
3 RepliesSorry it won't, 4v4 will have less lag my ass it lags in 3v3 D2 will still be laggy
-
3 Replies"D2 servers better be better than D1" Or what?
-
8 RepliesI'll just post this article from reddit....

How this will eliminate redbars? It will balance this problem a bit, so that if Bungie's server goes down then everyone will suffer. However, if someone has an intermittent connection, or a server is overloaded, or server's connection unstable and/or DDOSed, you'll have exactly the same situation as in D1 case, i.e. false greenbars, taking irregular damage and twitching around the map.
-
D2 servers better BE!
-
It's the same servers man. Oh wait , these are better. Now instead of seeing other people's connections, you can only see yours. Problem solved.
-
Edited by Zuper Greek: 8/21/2017 1:24:36 AMOr just ban red bar players from PvP. Fix your connection or don't play. Oh yea and if during the middle of a game you all of a sudden turn into a red bar for more than 3 minutes...bye. You can reconnect once you play fair. Stupid lag switcher.
-
1 ReplyThey should ban players if they are red bar. There should be a minimum connection to play PvP.
