Here's your shot, get this bitch trending!
The point of this poll isn't to review the system as it relates to the full release. It's to hear current impressions post the BETA.

33 Replies1. People asked for elemental primaries back. We now have elemental primaries. People are crying. Derp. 2. People need to stop seeing it as "two primaries". Think of it as your main weapon for shooting anything that moves and an elemental weapon for mofos with shields. 3. I think most people are crying because they're struggling to get out of the D1 mindset of "I have sniper, I must sit at back of map and snipe boss in head till dead".

The new system might work out for destiny 2, just got over all the hype after playing the beta, and I expect it to feel like destiny one. Although I'm guessing that you get to choose what to say without your gurdian saying a peep, and everyone reacting to your blank face kind of like Zelda the skiward sword. Skip ahead it worked with that game because everyone was used to the character not speaking. Will it work for destiny 2? Only time will tell.

It's written in stone. All you can hope for is d2 is not a half finished release.

15 RepliesHearing a lot of people saying D2 weapons system is boring What's so boring about it?

Edited by BloodCrowX: 7/29/2017 4:59:10 PMWhat I am more interested about and have not paid much attention to, until reading the thread. Is how it will effect the change in ammo count. from say a sniper round to a Grenade for your launcher. This specifically in the new loadout becomes very interesting to know, which by the way I am not to thrilled about. It felt that the moment I found me a weapon I loved using, the ammo was pretty much always on empty. In D1 we saw a lot of change and ammo loss due to ever changing over our weapons. Read shot gun to sniper. Or machine gun to rocket launcher. If one was half way a raid changing for the best possible weapon due to upcoming boss. That said, ammo drops were a bit more abundant than we have seen in D2. I will see what it will do once launched fully before making a final opinion. For now I am not thrilled about it. So let us play and safe yet again the same universe we came to enjoy. I will look forward to see where we will put our primary kinetic weapons with exploding rounds who do solar damage? Saterienne Rapier anyone? (I know we won't see it in D2, though nice thought that old players from the first day can take with them at least One Legendary or something or a year one thorn with only 170 damage lol!) Did we not come back from a long journey To find our citadel in ruins.

I prefer the destiny 1 load out for pve only. But I like destiny 2 load out for pvp.

5 RepliesWell the forums have spoken. New system stays
-
I have no doubt in my mind....if they literally just made the only weapon in this whole game, a sniper, there wouldnt be this much complaining. Just 5 million snipers to chose from and a stick as a secondary, people would be happier.

If one of the two primaries is NLB, then it's all fine 😊!

7 Replieshow am i supposed to make sniper montages if i barely ever have ammo?

Edited by Optimus96: 7/29/2017 3:38:25 PMI think everyone is assuming that raids and such will work the same way in D2 as they did in D1. Mechanics should work differently in raids to accommodate the lower DPS potential with the new system. If they do not, then that is major fail on Bungie's part. And compared to Strike bosses in D1, the one from Inverted Spire was not bullet spongy. It took reasonable time it kill with only primaries if you communicate with your party (like most party/team based activities). Did not take that long to beat the boss with 2 friends and communication. Also, Bungie already addressed the ammo economy and player damage in PvE.

I like the new system, I just want to be able to use more exotics and one for a weapon and one for armor. The armor I'm not worried about but having to switch from your favorite primary because you need a heavy for a boss or a special because of a strike attribute, got kind of annoying, and now that there are both kinetic and burner primaries I think that they should let you use at least two exotic weapons at once

2 RepliesAnything is better than year 3 destiny. Year 1 felt the best imo
-
13 RepliesGoing back to d1 pvp is impossible now. It's a shit show.
-
21 RepliesI like both but D2 system will make pve more difficult and PvP more balanced... Win win...
-
22 RepliesEdited by HyperVigiIant: 7/29/2017 8:06:39 AMI like the new layout. I also don't want almost every Ultra fight to be a snipe fest again because of the ammo economy and the amount of damage that snipers deal at all distances compared to other secondary weapons, and the fact that you always have to keep a distance from Ultras to avoid getting stomped on. It got boring to me... I hope more boss fights (not just raid bosses) are mechanics based instead of bullet sponging stompers, but that might be asking for too much.
-
7 RepliesIf it changes back, nobody who chose option 1 should be complaining about special being abused, because it WILL be abused.
-
Deep down I like it, I just know it will take some getting used to. I said it during TTK, that things like Sleeper and Spindle combined with other powerful weapons tend to make things easy. Hopefully the game will focus a bit more on mechanics this time, especially the raids.
-
How much you guys wanna bet when the game releases the people who didn't pre-order are gonna start crying about the cold heart being op. Then when they get their hands on it "man this gun sucks BUFF THIS SHITTY GUN BUNGIE"
-
2 RepliesEdited by Sneak Attack 65: 7/29/2017 9:07:14 AMIt seems like the biggest concern about the new system is boss DPS, but what if bosses had less health but made up for it with actual mechanics? What if bosses that did end up being bullet sponges received a ton of damage after doing certain tasks like chucking a bombs at it, using a certain weapon an enemy dropped, or standing in a certain spot for a major damage buff? Doesn't that sound more interesting than just unloading rockets and sniper rounds at it?
-
2 RepliesMy only issue is the weapon loadouts favor PVP imo. Where is my sniper and then heavy for boss DPS in raids?
-
1 ReplyThis thread is completely useless lol, do you honestly think this is going to change anything this close to release? The new weapons system is also a selling point for them that they've talked about in interviews and such, it's not gonna happen
-
22 RepliesAre snipers staying in heavy? I like them for pve and had almost no use to use them in beta.. Same with fusions... Wtf is a fusion in a heavy slot? I like those for pvp.
-
I have 50% Primary and only 10% Special kills in PvP on my main account. And I hate the new system in both PvE and PvP. In PvE because I don't like shooting 95% of everything with lame primaries that all feel the same. It's just boring. In PvP because of the insanely high TtK of the Primaries. The already high TtK is what morphed D1 to crap because everyone relied on ohk things. And now it's even higher? That's beyond ridiculous. They just stripped everything else down too so people are forced to use those crappy Primaries. It's just not Destiny anymore.
-
5 RepliesPersonally, I don't see what all the bitching about D2 is about. I think half the complaints are from people afraid of change. Admittedly, that's far from empirical. D2 pvp finally felt like anyone could play and contribute. There wasn't unending stickies and super chains bailing people out when you had them dead to rights. When I wanted to use a power weapon, I didn't find too much trouble in grabbing power ammo and absolutely wrecking with the Main Ingredient or shotgun (I'm a shit sniper). In Pve my only complaint would be something Bungie has already addressed, ammo drops. Other than that, for how I attacked the strike, guns felt good. Still don't understand the movement complaints. Felt pretty much like D1 to me, minus the skating/bunny hopping.

1 ReplyLol as if this poll is going to change anything, this late in the development of D2 it's what we are getting for D2. Bungie aren't going to see this poll and go oh jeez we should completely rework the combat system back to its original state, you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
