What do u guys think?
Edit: Lots of you guys are complaining about lag but remember that Bungie said there would be lag issues and other things wrong with the beta.

Edited by Reedstar: 7/18/2017 9:43:20 PMHad a lot fun tonight playing the beta. Pve mission and strike was great. PvP countdown is an excellent game mode. Super happy they've got rid of the sniper and shotgun show in crucible. Supers and grenades could recharge slightly faster. GG bungie - all round positive feedback from me and my two mates in my fireteam. Please don't listen to the whiners and make any major changes to pvp.

2 RepliesThis is tough read, it's like everyone has different opinions, looks like I'll have to wait until the weekend to try myself.

2 RepliesI liked it. Ammo was, as in D1 raids, a big problem in the strike (only two of us and my colleague must have died about twenty times). I ended up with literally no ammo at all and had to resort to running around trying to melee ads under heavy fire trying to get some. Played a few PvP games and enjoyed them. Super gen is very, very slow and ended up using it just to use it, killing no-one, at the end of a couple of games. Like the gun-play though; quite refreshing. I can't quite figure out the Competitive game mode. 'Defend the market' and the enemy has set a charge...eh? I thought we were setting the charge to defend it...People running past res-es just to die to team fire but hey, early days. Oh and my Hunter looks a bit too roomy in the hips as well :)

3 RepliesMy experience. A Destiny story, on PS4 pro. My background is as a PvE player of 1400 hours. Couldn't give a shit about PvP. I set aside my pre conceived notions of what I thought about the reveal event and set to work. Picked Sentinel Titan, cause defender used to be good in PvE. First impressions were our guardian is a dumb mute. Ghost yet again, trying to do the C3PO, but coming off condescending. Couldn't really connect to the story as it was like Quantum Break. Too much FMV cutscenes. It wasn't that exciting, or concerning. I felt like my presence was unnecessary mainly due to Cayde, Zavala and Ikora pretty much breezing through all the enemy encounters. Witnessing history rather than making it. Started off fine, but FoV was narrower than D1, probably a symptom of the increased graphics, Jump was high, and movement speed was slow and run didn't really seem to increase movement speeds. Felt like yet another classic Destiny, stand here, shoot those guys, only with an npc poping a bubble. The set peice really didn't add to the "classic Bungie 30 seconds of fun loop". Super takes too long to charge, and I could only do the shield throw once. (I did try to throw it again, but couldn't. Didn't seem to "bounce off dudes heads". It was a one and done fizzle, rather than an epic light show. Guns felt hilariously weak, especially on yellow bars. Took an age to take him down, and ran out of ammo. Who thought double primary was a good idea? No power ammo made this feel like a chore, instead of a breeze. If this is a guardian at the hight of his power then no wonder the city got reduced to rubble. Grenades are too few and far between here also. Felt like I was back in Y1 shooting rockets McDickFace for an hour. The strike was follow this white dot and shoot a bunch of guys. Didn't feel urgent, or connected to the game world. Didn;t really care about why I was doing this mission. Ran out of ammo a few times. The TTK was very long. All weapons, with the exception of the grenade launcher felt really weak as a result. Pulse felt OK, AR was a bullet hose that did feck all damage against yellow bars, and yes I did pop their shield with one or 2 shots of the elemental weapons, but after that it was a real unfun grind. SMGs didn't really help. The randoms that I got matched with were about the same skill level as me, and we all went in as titans. The boss looked the same as bosses I fought for hours in Y1, so not really impressed. Honestly felt like a twist on the Y1 Venus strike boss. Found the boss health yet again like I was fighting Rockets McDickface in Y1 in an Atheon suit. The last phase honestly felt bad and overly punishing for the amount of health and mobility he had, compared with the amount of damage we could inflict before we ran out of ammo yet again The new enemy long range attacks, limited to no grenades and slow super charge rates, combined with no power ammo, and sometimes running out of ammo for both primaries, made it an unfun grind. The circle room that all the red dogs spew out at you yet again made this feel like an unfair experience that punished you severely for the wrong weapon and team class choices. In the strike area there felt like way too much empty space, and it took way to long to traverse. If death by powerpoint was what the designers were going for, then congrats.(Too much scenery) Also tried the shield throw in a group of enemies and again it fizzled. Tried the bash and that was more fun taking down trash mobs, but was short lived and felt like a grind with limited damage options. Bubble felt pointless with the large barrier skill doing more work. Overall weapon power was way under powered and mini boss / boss health was way over. Overly punishing in some sections to the point of unfair. Ammo was way too scarce as I ran out of ammo several times and power ammo didn't seem to drop at all. More of kill 3 waves of enemies while defending a point on the map, and follow the white dot and kill some dudes missions. Graphics looked OK, (about the same as shadowfall on PS4 at release) wasn;t enough story to make a determination, but its feeling like Quantum Break and the Order 1886. Too many cut scenes thus far, telling an story I really didn't care about. TL:DR Didn't impress at all, felt more like work (as in I couldn't wait foe it to end the shift) than fun.

6 RepliesGolden gun is worse they have given us more bullets but more than halved the damage a normal red bar is taking 2 or 3 shots which is shite! The dodge is useless is pve but will be a huge help in pvp, maybe if it heals a little instead of reloading our ammo/melee would be better as melee in pve is a last resort and even then not used that much. Titan is good (unfortunately 😂) and his shields/walls are good. The game overall looks and feels good and I'm very happy that this time they have allowed us to experience an exotic BUT so far the exotics don't feel exotic the perk should really be much much better to be truly classes as exotic. Everything seems to be taking a long time to charge up supers/grenades/class abilities and power ammo well I got 3 power ammo drops from the mission and the strike all together on my hunter and even stayed by the vaults killing for longer than I needed to hoping for more ammo, the whole of the beta with titan I got more power ammo but very little more. Considering I've waited in orbit for a while waiting for friends to start playing to do strike together I've done 2 characters and some pvp so what now? It was a very very short beta compared to most betas I've played which is hugely disappointing. Can't be arsed to do it again with a warlock now so it's just back to D1 until Sunday when I get to go to the farm for an hour.

I don't think I like the crucible Too much going on... No shotty ammo...rrggh
-
Thought I would switch to sentinel after 3 years of hunter, immediately switched to arcstrider and fell in love
-
Like the play so far especially the visuals. Have no idea how I got through the excavator. Ran out of ammo several times the ammo drops are less visable than D1 Ran Hunter first will try the other classes later The strike was easier than I expected must be a basic level which makes since for a beta. Overall no complaints, after close to a thousand hours in D1 I'm ready for a fresh start.

1 ReplyI guess people have forgotten how to play destiny. Kenetic weapons were (in d1) for the most part are carp when it came to dealing with bosses, not much has changed there. They are just now also crap in PvP as well. But they work fine against none shielded enemies. Shielded enemies you need to use your secondary/energy weapon. The only time I ran out of secondary/energy was fighting the boss on the strike. That was partly because the random (overall he caused the strike to be pretty lacklustre, running through it like it was his 100th time instead of sight seeing and stuff) in our group thought it was a good idea to kill off all the enemies before the even got to the area we were fighting. I liked the openness of the maps for the strike, it seemed a lot bigger than d1's strikes. As for the power ammo, I got some semi regularly, though I don't think it would hurt if they tweaked up their drop rate a little. The starting grenade launcher the hunter had felt a little underpowered. Don't know why people are saying the graphics are about the same, the lighting in the game is a definite step up.

5 RepliesSo far I've played on the Warlock and Titan. The PVE feels watered down, and not very fun. The strike was very meh and boring PvP on the other hand is actually pretty nice. We had crisp connection and the lack of ability spam and need for gunakill makes things much better. Countdown is fun, control feels outdated. 6/10
-
Love it so far, only lag is bugging me but I understand that
-
Game is fun but only with friends. Guns need a bit more range. And uh see you later.
-
I don't play much pvp so it is over for me....bummed.

1 Replyran through story on all characters just to see. super take a long time but I think it should be that way, they are supers afterall. Warlocks on "Weapons of light" now. Strike was short but interesting I guess. Boss took a bit to kill but I expected it since it's a 200 light strike and you are 200 light. it's not like running a 340 strike at 400. Every other yellow boss I saw was easy to kill, idk why some say it took a long time. only took like 3-4 shots from my Power weapon (or just used my Energy weapon if it matched their shield, most times it was solar)
-
No way to report redbars and laggers after the match because the end screen goes away too fast and results aren't available after the match. Laggers seem more fluid and less glitchy but still not taking damage. Not enough ammo drops in strike.
-
8 RepliesStrike too long, always out of ammo. Super takes to long to charge. PvP still not good. Grenade launcher has slower kill time than primaries. Overall 4 out of 10
-
Can't revive while being shot at. Can't pick up power ammo while being shot at.

I loved the story mission. (Even though I despise the Cabal.) I love Destiny's plot. So that was really fun and gave me opportunity to test the weapons and subclass. Crucible was meh. I think it could be improved in the future with the actual game. The new search and destroy mode was really cringy and I absolutely despised it. Each time I played I felt like I was playing a sweat fest CoD match. But control was fun. I played that more than once. The strike was downright awful. The strike itself wasn't too bad. Boss fight was annoying, but not hard. I just didn't have a good experience with another player. I'd say it's really fun though! Not as cool as D1 Beta, but it was really cool to play and I'll be playing it until the end date. I'm pretty much excited to play PvE. (Mostly Patrol.)

10 RepliesOnly just got on and played story mission so far. It was good, weapons seemed ok, super charges way to slow & drop rates for power ammo is poor. But my main problem is this, WHY THE -blam!- DOES OUR CHARACTER NOT MAKE A GOD DAMN SOUND??!!! Not even a NOOOOOO! When ghost falls from the ship first, just a pathetic reach! If you want the story to be immersive our character has to talk, and theres no good reason i can think off as to why they dont. And they dont even have to get a big name star to do the voice overs. Just got 2 young aspiring actor's, one male one female, record the lines and job done. Come on Bungie, give our characters some character!

If anyone thought that the enemies were bullet sponges in D1.... oye vey...

10 RepliesEdited by icothiba: 7/18/2017 8:05:33 PMDawnblade is awful. Guns are weak. Even though the first mission is 10 levels above you, the strike isn't. Power ammo seems to have a 0.1% drop rate. And the super charge times. I've played multiple matches and haven't been able to use my super. Hopefully this changes when the game releases.
-
Wondering about the film grain though. Hope it's an option in the full release.

Only played through as a warlock so far. Pros: - weapons system feels good - abilities feel powerful - great story mission - pvp was crisp with no lag Cons: - abilities take to long to charge - the warlocks jump is even slower than D1 - everyone using their super at 7 mins of an 8 min match is odd, essentially just to shut down other supers. - power weapons don't really feel that powerful Looking forward to delving deeper into weapon and armour customisation also the locked out tree on the viodwalker looks good for pve.
