I am kinda laughing at a bit of irony because when people made the same suggestions for ps3/xbox360 back when it was announced that those versions were no longer getting either activity....EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF YOU did nothing but turn your noses up to the last gen players and mocked them for "wanting Bungie to waste more time on something outdated" all the while calling them poor kids and making fun of them in any way imaginable.
Well, Karma's a bitch ain't it?

You: o/ The point: . . . . . . . . . . . \o/ Last gen were left out of trials and iron banner because they couldn't render a lot of the new gear provided in iron banner, and they decided it probably wasn't a good idea to brick consoles in trying.
-
Last gen players wanted these things that were for an outdated console Bungie no longer wished to support with events and updates. OP wants something for a soon to be outdated game that Bungie no longer wished to support events and updates. Don't really see much of a difference here other than a shoe being on the other foot.

Edited by Durandal: 7/3/2017 5:36:01 AM*sigh* close to the right answer, but for the wrong reasons. Which is still a wrong answer. Once again: the last gen systems literally could not render the textures on armors and some weapons introduced in rise of iron, which is when and why support for continuing content stopped then. Trials and banner have always been the endgame material for pvp, updated endgame material only stays on the current updated version. This is also why the age of triumph doesn't fully support last gen either. You couldn't get an older console to run properly while displaying most of the new raid armor effects from ornaments. It's not because they decided to arbitrarily stop supporting them, they had physical limitations that prevented them from keeping up.

I'm sorry, but no...
Once again: the last gen systems literally could not render the textures on armors and some weapons introduced in rise of iron
IB and Trials was taken off of HoW as soon as TTK came. As soon as RoI came, they took them off of TTK. Nothing at all prevented IB or Trials gear being on last gen. The truth is IB and Trials have always been current story events that follow along with whatever the hell the latest DLC is and the transition to D2 is no different. Secondly, they only couldn't render some of the effects of very few specific things, like Touch of Malice's spinning center piece. Not a single piece of IB or Trials gear can't be rendered on last gen.
This is also why the age of triumph doesn't fully support last gen either.
AoT doesn't fully support last gen because people are literally missing half the fvcking game... They don't have RoI or anything since then and lots don't have TTK either.
You couldn't get an older console to run properly while displaying most of the new raid armor effects from ornaments
While yes they couldn't support those effects on last gen, that never prevented last gen from having the raid armors.
It's not because they decided to arbitrarily stop supporting them
They absolutely did. IB and Trials are events and they chose to make them move forward with DLCs. If physical limitations had anything to do with it, it was no more than an additional influence supporting their pre-made decision.

Trials gear has ornaments with effects, just like the iron lords gear. Just like the iron temple itself, where they would have to go, has effects that the older consoles would have trouble rendering.

Edited by GrundleBeans: 7/3/2017 5:18:32 PMTrials gear didn't have ornaments until recently, which doesn't explain how trials left HoW when TTK came out and wasn't available to people who didn't have HoW when it first came out. Iron Lord gear ornaments has nothing to do with IB gear whatsoever, so by your argument there's nothing about IB that should have prevented it from being on last gen. Clearly ornaments have had nothing to do with IB and Trials being discontinued on each previous expansion or why it's being discontinued from D1. You're really arguing why RoI wasn't available for last gen, not why Trials or IB won't be available.

Edited by Durandal: 7/3/2017 5:46:58 PMBecause you are ignoring the parts where I stated trials and banner are the endgame pvp content and have always only been available with the most current content. And with those movements forward came new gear that was tied to the new content. It's defined as a live event, and all live events have always only been available to people with the most current content. Seriously, stop. You are making yourself seem ignorant by picking one thing to argue against while ignoring the other points made. You can't cherry pick what to nitpick, that doesn't work.
-
Wtf are you talking about? I've been saying they are a current event thing only while you've been saying ornaments and textures were a reason it was dropped from previous expansions, which was never the case.

Those have literately nothing to do with keeping a repeating/randomized older version of Iron Banner/Trials running other than they just didn't want to commit the work to making it. Now and then it doesn't matter, the reason is they don't is the same, they are dropping support for something old to focus all their efforts on something new because it is not worth their time/money to do so. Usually I wouldn't laugh at things being taken away, but, fter seeing so many people who actually were really committed to the game being mocked and treated like second class citizens of the forums, I do so find it hilarious that people are now whining about the same things going on now to them. I honestly hope that OP and anyone that agrees with him get the same treatment those players received last year.
