We are all Americans.
We are all on the same side. We all want the same basic things- peace and prosperity for ourselves, our families, our friends, our neighbors, our fellow Americans.
The shooter was a nut job no matter what his political views were.
I fear for our nation when the rhetoric becomes too extreme. We need to reject this on both sides.
We are Americans and we must stand together.
"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined,...could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
At what point then is the danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all times, or die by suicide."

6 RepliesEdited by Inb4ban: 6/15/2017 3:25:37 AMI'm politically neutral, but there is some icky shit behind this attack in terms of the Democratic Party. First off, the gunman was homeless and lived 800 miles away. How did he even know about the practice, let a longer get there? I read the news everyday and I sure as hell didn't know about the practice. Second, the guy was previously working for Bernie Sanders, a political candidate for the most lobbied party in America. Bernie sanders later said he condemned the attack, but can you really know his agenda? Third, he was a expert marksmen. The gunmen was behind home plate in a seating area when he shot one of the senators on second base, which was 200 feet away from his position. He also shot 2 police officers before being shot herself. Not to mention he was not even going for lethal hits. This was not an attempted assassination. This was intended to scare Donald trump and the Republican Party from effectively making changes necessary for the nation.

120 RepliesEdited by Xenomorph: 6/14/2017 10:34:13 PMOnce again... I'm sitting here in Australia wondering... Maybe now that a politician has been shot, will some basic gun legislation get passed? Oh... Wait. Nope. Forgot, I'm an idiot for questioning the 2nd amendment considering that gun laws don't work. Except for that one time it did work. In Australia. No need to reply, I'll see myself out.

2 RepliesI'm American, and yet I think everyone else in the world is better than us. I'm starting to wonder if I was raised wrong

8 RepliesEdited by Maverick_Vision: 6/16/2017 7:36:53 PM
We are all Americans.
I'm gonna try and be typical American in my reply to this so here we go. Wrong. These forums are accessible by anyone. I'm personally from the U.K.
We are all on the same side. We all want the same basic things- peace and prosperity for ourselves, our families, our friends, our neighbors, our fellow Americans.
Wrong. The majority of nations, including parts of America itself, hate America and want they stand for. Take for example, the Paris accord. Your orange pleb backed out of it despite large public anger and her supposed "enemies" (I.e China) still continuing staying part of the agreement to amend its CO2 output. Wouldn't it be awful if a country like CHINA became better than the USA?
The shooter was a nut job no matter what his political views were.
I'm presuming you're talking about the man who shot one of your politicians in which case I have no comment as I don't know much about him
I fear for our nation when the rhetoric becomes too extreme. We need to reject this on both sides.
Everyone fears for your nation. Of want they're capable and willing to do
We are Americans and we must stand together.
Again, wrong. Refer to my earlier comment. Also, several of your "united" states want to leave the union. Try standing strong when your own states don't like the country that much they want to leave
"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined,...could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
Wow Abraham mustn't have been the brightest. You could barely fight a rebel faction never mind the armies of other nations combined
At what point then is the danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all times, or die by suicide." - Abraham Lincoln
Edited by Space2001_: 6/16/2017 5:32:13 AMTake your view, apply it worldwide, and that's how I feel about politics in general. We're all people. We're all entitled to our opinions, we will always disagree, and we have a very bad habit of disrespecting each others' opinions and faiths. But we are all human. The main problem with people in general is that we, most of the time, purposefully fail to see the things from the other side because of the possibility that it may make us question our own beliefs and, in turn, provide discomfort. In other words, we make ourselves ignorant. We fail to realize that it doesn't matter what happens to us after we die, it doesn't matter who believes in what, and is sure as hell doesn't matter what we think about politics. None of that makes a shred of difference in the grand scheme of things. If you, or any one of us, want to make any actual positive difference, then we have to be reasonable with one another. I'm not saying give every person their wish. Otherwise nothing would happen. But at least be willing to compromise in a way that doesn't -blam!- the other sides over. But hot damn just be reasonable because I, and I'm fairly sure we, are getting tired of this divisive political shit. Not to dis your post though, just in general. My heart goes out to the victims of the attack. I hope your lives can go on in the least shittiest way possible. Thank you for reading my rant, which I'm sure will get argued, and have a good day or night.

Another fkin abhorrent repugnant act. Sick to my stomach. My thoughts go to the victims and the affected.

4 RepliesFuuuuuuuuuuucçk not political stuff anything but that my teenage eyes BURRRRN also dam this blew up and honestly my view on the world: no matter what every person is alone in the world nobody can or should fully trust someone even if you love each other. I learned that backstabs are only caused by trust but if you trust no one than you hold all feelings i and if you do that life goes downhill and wooow I just realized how sad my life is I'll see myself out I guessssa

To be a man in such times is to be amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruellest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

76 RepliesBFS. This was another classic example of a white terrorist attack blown off as a "lone wolf." America has been under attack by psychotic white males for decades, but nobody seems to care as long as they aren't brown or Muslim. People claim that Mexicans are sooo dangerous. Arabs are sooo dangerous. Black people are sooooooo dangerous. But let a white person go on a shooting spree and they're just written off as a "bad egg." FOH.

Edited by Commander Tempu: 6/15/2017 12:43:53 PMOnly in America... Do people freak out about violence on TV or guns but car crashes that kill more people than guns do. Relevant. Terrorist are using guns to send a message of fear. We must find out courage out of such fear. You cannot keep guns out of criminal hands. Common sense says you should not make it harder on a person defending ones home.
