Thoughts? Shouldn't be a problem for destiny though.

1 ReplyThey monetize games in the first place?
-
Honestly I'm glad at least I will have one genre of video game where every video I look at isn't some guy who just loves to hear himself talk
-
to be honest, it's just youtube trying to earn back the billion dollars lost due to companies withdrawing because of the content their ads were in front of.
-
2 RepliesYouTube's trying to be a "family friendly or bust" platform. Which sucks.
-
3 RepliesI'm amazed that people in large corporations can't differentiate between reality and fiction. /s
-
2 Repliesit's like they want to be known as the "haha look at funny trump and minecraft fidget spinner school shooting prank" the app
-
Sounds like another vague announcement that ends up hurting youtube more than helping. Looking forward to the backlash it'll get.
-
4 RepliesInitial thoughts: YouTube isn't a public utility. If they want to police content and avoid a user and advertiser backlash, they have every right to do so. Some other website can be the haven for offensive game steams. Further thoughts: This only affects people who like to watch other people play video games. No hate for that but since I spend all my screen time playing video games instead of watching other people play them, this doesn't effect me in the slightest. YouTube could shut down all the streams. Twitch could go bankrupt. I wouldn't even notice.
-
I personally think YouTube could be done in 10 years time if they keep up the trend of screwing their content creators. News and commentary is especially screwed by YouTube
-
The worst part is, none of this would've happened if Youtube didn't become so damn popular.
-
2 Replies-de·mon·e·tize -dēˈmänəˌtīz/ -verb -to deprive (a coin or precious metal) of its status as money. Do you by chance mean "demonizing"?
-
YouTube's turning into such a bitch.
-
Tried to post Dark Souls pvp on Facebook one time and was denied.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY
1 ReplyIs Titanfall 2 safe?
-
Sigh....more "family friendly". Its YouTube, leave it alone. Maybe I'll make another account and start posting clips from "watch people die" from reddit. Its video games people. Don't like violent games? Don't play them. Don't want to see it? Don't click the -blam!-in links. -blam!-in dumbass crybabies.
-
1 ReplyJust continuing to push more people to Twitch.
-
So, censorship?
-
11 RepliesOnly focuses on "montages only focusing on kills and violence." So unless your making quickscope montages you're fine.
-
2 RepliesEdited by NightMist: 6/9/2017 1:55:18 AMProbably because ad providers have a skewed view of most shooters as Murder Simulators and don't want to be associated with them.
-
Seeing as 90% of gaming channels started with montages, this is pure bullshit. Now you can't even monetise montages. Awful...
-
10 RepliesThey're actually demonitizing the videos where gratuitous killing and violence are the focal point. Stuff like COD montages, nothing more. You can still monitize a video with an M rated game in the background and you get 38 kills and 0 deaths. So long as the glorifying of the killing and the violence isn't the focal point then your video will be Monitized. Do your homework op.
-
If it works as intended, it won't affect me or any of the channels I watch regularly so I'm fairly indifferent at the moment.
-
Switch to vidme.
-
So it's making it harder for montage players to make a living playing video games Sooooooo Who cares
-
1 ReplyReally....
-
5 RepliesI think it's a really bad decision. Cutting ad payment for those videos starts a very bad precedent and they'll lose a lot of channels to other sites if they keep things going. Personally, I love watching channels like Neebs Gaming and Rayfella. I wonder how long they'll stick around?
