We all know it, the weapon patch sucks. Its a waiting game in trials. The no land is most used weapon. All probably because halo was a succes with the balancing. You picked up a sniper and it was gone when you died. The problem with destiny is; you cant pickup weapons. Its stuck in your secondary slot. Like a shotgun no use at all. Its my idea but this can all be resolved in one solution. In my opinion. If you give all secondairys a buff like that they can compete against eachother. ( like sidearms have the same amount of chance to win it from a shotgun in medium range, and of course the shotgun is gonna win in close distance) give everybody its special back. Buff most primaries and youre done its kind of balanced ( and just a note) meta's ruin the character customisation. You have to keep to the meta to compete. No customisation at all. So no meta's

7 RepliesOkay first off, no. All weapons shouldnt be good at all ranges, that defeats the purpose of having multiple secondaries, if you have the same chance of getting a long range kill with a shotgun that you do with a sniper, why would anyone bother learning how to snipe? Secondly, the no meta thing is impossible. There always has been and always will be a meta. "Meta" is simply a term for tge nist effective weapons at the time there is no way to "stop" having a meta, the meta is created by the community gravitating towards the best weapons available.

1 ReplyIMO Bungie was too rash with the last weapon unbalancing and I think it could've been handled better. Firstly they pushed out the patch when they knew it was flawed, which to me means that they just don't care. I personally think that the whole special ammo economy atm is ridiculous, and for me the crucible isn't very fun anymore. I think that by reducing the amount of special that the ammo crates drop in the crucible, instead of removing it completely would have been effective enough. Possibly even limiting how much special that you can carry in the crucible, but a blanket nerf like that would hinder PvE activities. I just hope that Bungie can put the fun back into the game quickly and before Destiny 2, otherwise I won't be buying it (or any of the future DLC's) ~M

1 ReplyThe biggest problem is in trials. No land is everywhere and primaires have a tough time challenging it. Losing special ammo forces you to use a sidearm. Basically fusions and shotguns aren't used because of this. Fusion grenades are everywhere because people refuse to use primary weapons.

2 RepliesPersonally, I enjoy the patch. Most of my friends that still play like it aswell. Even as a jug shotgun titan, the patch has made the game more enjoyable. Trials is the only game mode I feel starved for special in, 6's play great. It also feels like there's a skill gap, you dont just fly at someone with a shotgun hoping they dont shotgun you first. Whoever has the better primary shot wins. It's also those with the least no land kills that call it over powered or over used. The gun is complete trash and insanely easy to counter.

1 ReplyThe only way that what Bungie is doing will ever work is if they go ALL the way. Remove special ammo from the game ENTIRELY...and drop it like heavy ammo. That's the problem. They want special weapons to work like the "power weapons" of Halo. But the problem is the game isn't designed anything LIKE Halo. Because of that, they have to balance primary and special weapons, and Bungie doesn't want to allow primary weapons to kill fast enough to do that. So anything short of treating them like heavy weapons (which are the "power weapons" of Destiny) is never going to work. They'll just keep breaking more and more parts of the game, otherwise.
