I must be the most casual casual in Destiny.
There's quite a lot I've never done in Destiny.
Haven't run WOTM.
Didn't do Kings Fall on hard mode.
Never been to the lighthouse.
Haven't got the dark spindle or sleeper simulant. Not got the exotic Khvostov. Never got the Jade Rabbit from an engram.
I've never beaten Skolas.
I've run a lot of strikes, done thousands of bounties, run hundreds of patrols and occasionally dip my toe in the PvP battleground of iron banner. And I'm a regular visitor to Archons Forge.
And people will tell me I lack ambition. That I'm not playing the game right. That I'm missing out.
Perhaps I am.
But when I've had a tough day at work I just want to shoot some stuff, run around, see if an engram drops but basically just chill.
I can't find the right clan to do the end game stuff although I have tried so I'm just taking things casual.
And if I'm having some fun and the games still keeping me interested, isn't that enough ?

1 ReplyWow, I'm almost jealous of you. That's all I want from this game, just to have fun. The crucible has become toxic and I only play it occasionally, mostly to complete bounties. I would love to help you with the sleeper stimulant, black spindle, and no time to explain quests. I remember them being fun and you really are missing out on the amount of fun that those weapons can be. Also if you are feeling froggy, I'm down to help you with any raids that you want to do. Just let me know and I'll help you with them.

1 ReplyI'm probably as casual as you. I used to avoid PvP, but after work I like to blow off some steam in the crucible. I never did the WotM and King's Fall. When Iron Banner is available I usually grind to lvl 5, fun times.

2 RepliesDont need a clan for anything, just gotta try people. The worst is that theyll say no (or not respond, which is just a no). Try this: start an activity, like a raid, and send invites from inside. Or do it solo until youre sure you need support. Keep it simple. "Skolas, last rd". "Nightfall, halfway done". Youll get through everything you want to with effort and a little patience.

Looking at your post I mentally registered that I also: - Never played WOTM. - Never played VoG Hard Mode - (played normal mode 3 times only) - Never played Crotas's End Hard Mode - (played normal mode 2 times only) - Never played Kings Fall Hard Mode - (played normal mode 1 time only) - Never played a single second of Trials - Never played Doubles - Still don't have Bolt Caster and Dark Drinker - Still don't have all calcified fragments (missing the CoO ones, one from Golgoroth CM and the Nightfall one) I never found a clan that is suitable to my timezone (and preferably in my language). Also none of my friends play video games (perhaps being over 50 years old is the reason for that, as they are roughly same age). Having a family and a work schedule also greatly limits the amount of time available for gaming. Anyway, I've been playing Destiny since year 1 mostly solo with the few exceptions stated above. It has been a great ride though I believe it would have been better with some friends to share the experience. But we can't always have what we want. Cheers

1 ReplyI feel ya, I've never completed any raid! It's just not my thing I guess. Barely played crucible at all year 1, although I do more now. To the filthy casuals, may we have crappy k/d's and not care about it!!

1 ReplyI broke my controller recently (surprisingly, not from rage quitting) and haven't been able to play this week, but I'm a pretty casual player who's done about half of those things, and none of the people I used to play with play anymore, so if you or anyone wants someone to shoot aliens with I'm your guy!

1 ReplyDon't know but I would guess there are a lot of us 'hidden' casuals out there. I've played since mid-December 2014 and have never done any raid (other than soloing the abyss a few times on my hunter until I figured out only gauntlets dropped), never entered ToO, never beat Skolas. I never got Vex, Necrochasm, ToM, Outbreak Prime or NTTE and I'm ok with that. It's a game, we can all play how we like (within the rules obviously). I just like being able to log in, shoot some stuff and enjoy myself (and sometimes get frustrated) without having to communicate and coordinate with randoms.

We pretend we are dedicated.....ambitious but rubbish really, every time we manage to complete a nightfall the goalposts are moved and we start again. Never finished a single raid. Spend some time in archons forge and Prison of elders, But really just in it to shoot some crap spin a yarn and keep in touch! I can't be bothered with the seriousness, too many people are too nit picky with being stuck with some noob who keeps dying, Shout out to the randoms i've played with though i know one dude tried to help me through crota once until the connection dropped.. top bloke/child/person! I really can't take gaming that seriously.... *have not been home since the new patch dropped although it won't affect me anyway!*

1 ReplyI'm similar - My life remains unaffected by not being a hardcore player; Destiny's a great stress buster. Hit me up if you ever want to do raids or some of that other stuff as I should do some of that myself too - I'm on UK time but am often around late at night etc.: Deckard-72
