Hungering Blade Clarification for Hotfix 2.5.0.2 Patch Notes
We just launched [b]Hotfix 2.5.0.2[/b] which contains a Sandbox tuning pass and changes to the Crucible. In the interest of full transparency, we do need to clarify something in this update. Our test team discovered that the changes to the Blade Dancer Perk Hungering Blade were being applied to several other Health Regen Perks. Here is a quote from Sandbox designer Josh Hamrick.
[quote]Over the last couple of days, as we continued to test the patch, it came to our attention that the changes we made to Hungering Blade were unintentionally shared among a number of additional elements (list below). While we considered delaying the hotfix to remove the shared change, we ultimately decided to live with the patch we’d made and tested. We believe that Hotfix 2.5.0.2 is an important step forward to maintain the health of the game and that getting it out to you ASAP is in everyone's best interest. And besides, no one wants to show up empty handed on Valentine’s day.

• Cauterize (Sunbreaker Titan)
• Lifesteal (Voidwalker Warlock)

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be diligently watching and listening to what you have to say about these changes. While we will be unsurprised if additional tweaks need to be made, we are honestly super interested to see how these changes, intended or not, play out. We will be relying on you to give us your feedback as you grow accustomed to the feel of the game over the next couple of weeks. We will also be with you ingame, playing along and making our own notes… Apparently, I have to redeem myself for my stream performance anyway.

Hotfix opinion: I played today for the first time since the update. My thoughts. First and foremost, what on earth possesed you to steal my truth rockets? Was Truth super OP and I never noticed? Didn't need touched. Blink update was fine idc I don't use it anyway. Healing update I don't get don't think there was a problem with it but whatever it's not like it's unusable now. Special ammo update I actually hated at first but now I don't think it's so bad. If you can't play without special ammo suck it up and use a recharging weapon. Weapon tuning was overall lousy in my opinion though in all honesty pulse rifles did need taken down a notch (coming from someone who mains clever dragon). Bladedancer was unjustly modified especially with the instant ready weapons (we've had that for 3 years what's suddenly wrong with it?) Overall..... Meh. Update had some ups and downs (increasing shotgun damage? Really? Only acceptable because you took away all the ammo.) Could be better, could be worse, but in the end I still love this game and will probably continue playing no matter what at this point. Congrats Bungie, you've blinded me to your mistakes cuz I just love this game.

All you guys did with this update is make the special slot the primary and primary spot the special. (Side arm= primary, no land=secondary)

This update is absolutely terrible! Please put it back to where it was. No one likes just no lands and side arms in trials. Please!! I spent to much time and money into this game to quit playing... I have a great and growing stream. This update ruined everything for everyone. It's not fun anymore. Please!

It just seems like this hotfix was a little overkill. People were complaining about shotguns and you nerfed them to the ground and below. I'm particularly annoyed at the nerf to Thunderstrike, it shouldn't be consistent with the other warlock melees just like the Throwing Knife isn't consistent with the Hunter Melees. Instead of nerfing the Nodes that do work, why not just buff the ones that don't? Make Chain Lightning deal extra damage to the chained enemy. Make hits with Tunderstrike SIGNIFICANTLY increase super grenade and melee boost. Then people would have a better selection because they are still all gonna use Amplitude for the sheer fact that it fits their play style with the Stormcaller. Make it to where it doesn't track as easily in the air, but don't nerf the range which was the only thing it had going for it, now everyone will just use Nova Bomb again..... BOOOORRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!

You know messing with all the health regen, nerfing bladedancer into the ground, and even taking away all special when you die in pvp. Im not mad about any of that. And it can all be forgive as long as bungie does 1 thing. Please i beg you give destiny 2 dedicated servers. And stop the horrible server lag. Im running 80megs and a ping at about 5 to 15 90+ percent of the time. But i still get red barred in destiny and contacting dedtiny servers. Please fix this.

Idiots, what a disgusting patch. It's just made hand cannons the strongest weapon in the game. Nothing else really gained any substantial time to kill. At least pulse was viable against hand cannon previously.

I was considering coming back to Destiny for the first time since the Dawning, but after seeing this though, I think I'll wait a few more months until the next patch that hopefully fixes some of these BS issues while only [i]minimally[/i] breaking other mechanics.

With Solar Damage being added to Throwing Knifes, I believe Knife Juggler is not working as intensed as a result.
