I have played as a titan from day one. Recently, I decided to play as a hunter just to switch things up a bit and to collect some old weapons (murmur). All I have to say is that I have mad respect for hunters. I've died so much lately due to the lack of amor that is crazy. Maybe is my lack of experience with the character but shit is tougher with a hunter. Fosho!
Edit: just to be clear I'm talking PvE. I don't play much PvP. I just dabble in it.
Edit: I'm not trying to start a class war here guys. My intent was to show appreciation for other players that can use a character with a different play style. For some reason, I just don't feel comfortable playing as a hunter. Titans suit my play style better.
Edit: Stats don't mean nothing to me. Ever since Activision quit giving out achievement badges in '83, I haven't cared ( video game crash of 83. Look it up and learn your gaming history). Yes I'm an OG gamer(odyssey 200, coleco vision and atari 2600) and I'll play until my hands fall off.

Thanks brah, respect to our titan bros

Aww thanks ^.^

12 RepliesArmor really is insignificant. My Hunter is easily my best character and I run a full recovery and agility build. Sure a tripmine will kill me, but we did some play testing last night and found that only a Titan with max armor can tank a sticky. We didn't try warlock with Ram Helm, but I would imagine they can't tank a sticky either. So the clever dragon for example, it's still a 3 shot kill on a Hunter or a Warlock with max armor and lowest possible armor.

6 RepliesAs far as pvp goes - it's incredibly hard to switch classes, or even subclasses, & immediately recognize the effectiveness of it. It will take some time & effort to master the advantages of a new class. With all the differences between them there's just no way. Every subclass has that potential to be annoying asf to play against & "OP" in somebody's eyes. & triple of every subclass is absolute cancer to play against...doesn't matter what it is. Sunsinger, Striker, Stormcaller, Nightstalker - etc etc. Gunslinger is the weakest overall hunter subclass imo. That's not to say that someone can't destroy with it, I just don't think it's as powerful as the others. No matter how god tier goldie is. I think Blade is a fantastic subclass, but that super is trasssh. I literally feel confident in shitting on a blade virtually every time it's popped. It's sad tbh... & Nightstalker is the best. You can play it both defensively & offensively. & you have the choice to decide pretty much every engagement you want to challenge. If you don't like it, just shadestep out of it. Not to mention all the nades it cancels...& Thunderstrike, & Stormtrance lol. It's so good, & if you use Graviton instead of Bones you can literally never get baited unless you're straight up garbage. How effective a subclass is comes down to how willing the player is to learn it... Granted there's a lower learning curve for some subclasses than others, it still applies. If you don't play to your strengths, you're not playing to your potential. & you'll get way more deaths than you could be getting.

My main character in the beginning was a warlock and still is I suppose but I made a hunter awhile ago and I like switching it up between the two. Playing as a hunter definitely is harder than a warlock because of the lack of armor but I like that class anyways. I made a titan and so far just don't like playing as one. Tried to level up the bubble class and even with saint 14 just can't get into playing as a titan for some reason.

1 ReplyThat's because you're thinking like a Titan, not a Hunter. Hunters are the hawks and the eagles, striking their prey with precision. The keys to being a good Hunter are range and awesome cloaks.

88 RepliesTo everyone saying hunters are easy mode, yes we have skips, wombos and shadestep but you know what we don't have? God range melees. Health regen for breathing in. Overshields if we tickle someone. Flying ffs (Titan skating) Our only panic super TRAPS people in its radius what do yours do obliterate everything in its radius. A free shield for RUNNING. A seventh column for holding r2 and spastically spamming r3. And the stuff we do have isn't exactly exclusive Skip nades- heard of axions? Shadestep- garrison? Wombos- well, no one else has something like this but don't forget our grenade is so good because we don't have a melee. Stop bitching about hunters. Titans and warlocks have way more crutches.
I use all 3 classes btw and my hunter has a 1.3 while my titan and warlock sit on 1.6, 1.5 just sayin.
4 RepliesRemember to look fabulous as a Hunter That's our main rule

Nice to hear this, I've been hunter since alpha and I wouldn't change it, I've tried all 3 classes but hunter for me is the easier of the three to play with.

Edited by ToiletChoker2785: 1/12/2017 6:46:28 AMHunter main all the way - invis shotgun, shadestep -Gunslinger only used on solar activities with celestial nighrhawk Titan is my backup - defender, no back up plans, double shotguns, double suppressor nades, double melee, memory of fellwinter. Or throw the chaperone. This is just for fun. Warlock- well.... More vault space!!!!! Cause I suck with them and my thumbs go full retard when using one. And this is from a low kd below average player, so these are my pro tips. Lol

1 ReplyEdited by rtopz: 1/12/2017 1:18:22 PMSo easy mode...Just plain easier for regular crucible. Can't comment on trials, but just look at KD from guardian.gg. Bladedancer 1.11 in trials...highest by far.
-
It's not harder as a hunter, you're more mobile just move and jump around more and you'll survive just like the rest of the people who don't play self res warlocks.
-
11 RepliesHunters take no skill... Anyone can play a hunter
-
I love maining a hunter. it's a conscious decision I've made after giving all 3 characters a fair chance to become main. Got attached to it. Plus I have the NM/FWC/DO cloak. It's WORTH doing because it's such a prominent class item.

Play as a night stalker with memory of felwinter and let me know if it's hard then.

2 RepliesWe're a dying breed, the struggle is real on a hunter

Edited by skyplay_1: 1/12/2017 1:47:17 PMYeah I've had max level characters on all classes several times, before we got the 3rd subclass tho... I agree that hunters are more 'squishy' than the others, but at the same time literally all of their abilities allow you to hold someone/something in place while you shoot it!! Especially the Nightstalker subclass of hunters, it's no wonder they do so well in crucible!!! That being said I almost exclusively played a Titan until recently, just for kicks figured I'd max out a hunter on all 3 subclasses... I must admit the Nightstalker subclass is alot of fun!!

3 RepliesHunters are the Master Race and require way more skill than Warlocks and Titans do... I mean it's not rocket science is it... didn't you know this?
-
I used to main the Titan also in the beginning because the Master Chief from Halo was one of my favorite video game heroes, but now I main the Hunter because it brings a whole new & different element and technique to playing Destiny. Unlike the Titan and Warlock, you can't just truck over all your enemies like a tank, there's a certain type of savvy and cunning with the Hunter.

3 RepliesHunters have a very good strength: they can run. Fast. Use it to your advantage.

Hook line and sinker, the bait has been cast, and you're pulling in Lunkers.

4 RepliesI love my Hunter. Ive been a hunter since the day he game released. And I will never look back. I have one of each but my Hunter is my baby. Sure we don't have stupidly OP supers or ridiculous class perks but if you can learn a Hunters play style then that's an achievement all in its own.

Thank you sir.
