It's not that she has a bad voice actor. It's just that the voice sounds so out of place for her character. She sounds like a college girl, I'm just waiting for her to talk about her abusive ex and how your not like other guys.
For a hundred year old women she sounds far too young.
Okay I get it, youngest Iron Lord bla bla bla.
You can have a young sounding character without making them 15. Mass effect is a fantastic example. Tali, Jack, Liara, Miranda.

My issue isn't that she sounds young. That's beside the point. My issue is that she doesn't speak realistically. You can tell she's reading a script, and unfortunately doesn't seem to have a handle on punctuation or pacing or anything. It sounds like a youtube fandub to be honest, which is probably where most of our new voice actors are coming from. I have the same issue trying to play Dishonored 2, so it's not an isolated incident. People text and use messaging shorthand too much nowadays, without proper punctuation or sentence structure, and it's changing how some people speak, especially if they're reading a script. Just my two cents here.

I think it sounds hot

She has a pretty cool chest.... piece... of.. armour.

11 RepliesI'm not bothered by it. But if she was the crucible announcer. "Like OMG you like totally killed him" "Is that cape silk? No? Laaaame" "What are you even doing here? Loser!" "You took on like four of them... that's hawt."
-
Nah. Her voice is fine. Not everyone has to sound old or middle-aged. Plus, she makes for a good contrast with Saladin who is more grim and serious.
-
2 RepliesI was a little shocked. I'm like "this bitch doesn't sound badass at all."
-
She sounds a lot like the VO for the female Awoken pc. But still too youngish for a 400+ year old woman. Question: how do you get her Grimoire card to unlock? I finished the IB quest and...nada. Could there be another quest involving her down the line?
-
Where did it mention she was the youngest in the grimoire? I've seen it said a couple times here-and-there, but with no proof. I'm honestly curious about that
-
I actually kind of love the characterization of her voice. Like when she does her Saladin impression. It's hilarious.
-
Can I like this a few hundred times?? She's terrible.
-
6 RepliesThe worst part for me was the shitty quest she gave us. "I found other ways to serve the light, without violence, with other guardians" Ok, cool! That sounds neat, I wonder how they do that and why they do it. "But I'm not going to tell you anything about them or how we do it" Literally like trying to talk to the stranger again. -blam!- you Efrideet.
-
I don't hate her voice but yeah it kinda hit me in a weird way
-
I agree, she sounds like a teenage girl. Far too young.
-
2 RepliesSaladin's gravely brooding needs a counterpoint of someone who is positive, upbeat, and a plucky survivor. If guardians do not age, then a ghost reviving a young person makes more sense than an old one. And as for tone, Efrideet has had centuries to deal with the loss of old friends. I like what it says about her that she was more happy at seeing Saladin than sad for the rest.
-
Agreed.
-
I thought it was a bit odd
-
She's a bad voice actor.
-
For a very wise, experienced, and spiritual character she is kind of aloof.
-
I like her!😁
-
You must not get out much. I've met plenty of really successful women with crisp voices like hers that easily fit the same role of leadership. Dats just society tryin to tell you how people should act. Screw the system!

7 RepliesEdited by Snakedude: 10/5/2016 9:59:18 PMEh, the voice is fine to me. I was taken aback at first as i wasnt exactly expecting that voice but i think it works for the most part. She is supposed to be the youngest of them all and likely hasnt seen as much battle as Lord Saladin and the rest of the Iron Lords. Plus since I watch some anime, im kinda used to voices like this on female warrior characters that are reminiscint of Lady Efrideet and use similar voices but thats just me. Also, it probably doesnt help that we havent seen her face yet. If and when we do see her face, i think the voice may end up fitting better. Right now its just a disembodied voice to a suit of armor with boobs much like how Saladin was, except for the boobs. Kinda reminds me of Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist actually lol. That voice for that suit of armor is completely mismatched but makes sense when you know why that is the case for anyone that has seen that anime

1 ReplyEdited by AbioticApple: 10/6/2016 12:33:14 PMIsn't she like a couple hundred years old at this point? That's what throws me off about her voice. Saladin sounds like he could be that old but not her.
then again guardians don't age.
Edited by a_LaliLuleLo: 10/6/2016 2:22:23 PMThe real question is is she a human or awoken?
-
Edited by Psyggie: 10/6/2016 2:20:21 PMShe has big tits. Firm too.

3 RepliesEdited by GalaxySpider: 10/6/2016 7:13:43 AMYou know, guardians don't age. If a Ghost finds his (future) guardian, these beings keep their physical form they had at the moment they died. And Efrideet has been described as a very young guardian in several grimoire cards. So her voice fits her. Question: why does every guardian has to sound like an old fart?
-
Completely agree. The voices for shiro and efrideet sound like bungie trying to save money by using two of their office employees.
