This is beyond frustrating, a direct Hammer to the face should ALWAYS reward the player with the kill. Is it ok that the only roaming Super we have as Titans is so underwhelming ? That its practically literally useless and unreliable ?? absolutely NOT. I don't understand why this issue hasn't been addressed by Bungie yet, especially considering the release of ROI. As it is now Hammer of sol NEEDS to be looked at and reworked, I can't tell you the amount of times HOS has has either 1. direct Hammer failing to take down opponent. 2. Direct Hammers dealing no damage. As a Sunbreaker all I ask for is consistency, if I land a direct Hammer then that individual should be taken down by that Hammer. Also I want to bring up the perk -Flameseeker Forge master and -cauterize. First, flameseeker needs a CONSIDERABLE buff, as it is now the tracking is non existent, and cauterize needs to have no cool down, bringing the damage resistance down was quite enough to allow sunbreakers to be taken down. Now with Forge master ... I went into a private match alone and tested the "extra" blast radius of the perk. First I experimented with and without the perk, my conclusion ? Forge master is only good for making your super last longer and throwing more Hammers [two to be exact] The solution ? Buff forge master by a maximum of 10 % This will allow direct hits to always 1 shot. If these changes are taken into consideration and implemented, then sunbreakers won't be op, but balanced and reliable,. With all this said, I myself can't do much without you guys, please like, share and comment your thoughts, if bungie sees enough people agree, then maybe just maybe they'll give sunbreakers the rebalance and tuning they need. I thank all of you for your patience and reading this far. Bungie if your reading this then please take in consideration, us Titans Deserve a reliable roaming subclass. Thank you.

I can dig it, buff the sunbreaker, nerf the striker

10 Replies*Enables lights settings *Drops light super low "Sunbreakers need to be buffed!"

That Warlock probably was low light, possibly his Desolate armour was fresh out of the box. Also, i don't know any regular crucible that lasts 19+ minutes, so this was probably a private match, and with light level advantages. Sunbreakers are in a good place, and in the lower tier of PvP play if anything, i'd say would be considered OP. I mean they are walking (with some pretty decent speed, no speed debuffs there), heavily armoured tanks throwing splash 1HK hammers unlimited until the time runs out. For weaker players, they're pretty darn near impossible to take down, with all those sunspot health booster things.
-
I won't argue here. When I play as a Sunbreaker I almost always play well in the crucible. I don't see why people want it buffing but I won't complain if it happens. ;)

9 RepliesI have to respectfully call shenanigans on this video. Since the video is obviously staged, you need to mention your setup as well as the setup of your friend. Your friend could be setup for a solar burn defense. It also looks like you have no additional damage on your hammer. Very few people walk around using one hammer, so the tactic isn't sound either. You have to bring full disclosure to the table, if you really want your opinion of a buff to be considered. I love my Sunbreaker and would welcome a buff, but it must be earned fairly
-
Nah they're in a good place imo. Maybe buff their fire trail grenades. When I play titan I play sunbreaker mainly. Just because they require more skill than strikers doesn't mean they need a buff. In fact getting kills in small corridors is suprisingly effective.
-
7 RepliesJoke right ?!? I don't main Titan and I die to sun breakers super in pvp a lot, but hey it's a super!
-
Literally every Sunbreaker I see fucks shit up and gets at least 2, mostly 3-4 kills. Sometimes more. It's way better than Arcblade. Stop whining. - A guy that mains a Titan
-
Lol it really doesn't
-
Get better maybe? Never an issue when I use my titan. So no, no buff
-
Why did u not just hit him again instead of just sitting there
-
Suncharge bros!
-
I do just fine with it, but I'll take free buffs.
-
Suncharge's hit detection must be fixed
-
Considering the fact that the Hammer was basically the only real selling point for TTK, and how we needed to go on a quest to discover it, etc., and how all the promos were about its power...for Bungie to nerf it was just ridiculous in the first place.

Edited by brandon: 9/15/2016 5:45:39 AMThey really need to fix the tracking perk!!! It's so irritating using that perk, being a few millimeters off on your throw and the perk doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help.... -___- To add to the point my freaking fusion grenades track right to people's face near 99% of the time, WHEN THERE NOT SUPPOSED TO..... -________-

1 ReplyI hate seeing Titans get shat on, even though I don't play them. First Hammer Of Sol was nerfed, and then just recently shoulder charge. You have my condolences friend. I'm not sure if hammers not detonating is a Titan problem or a lag/damage referee problem. Handcannons, shotguns and auto rifles have been suffering similar effects
-
5 RepliesI remember when hammers first came out and when you heard that -blam!-ing clinck in crucible, you knew it was time to run. Now it like when I pop hammers, every player feels the need to just end my super immediatly by getting a one shot headshot or getting close with a shotgun. Hammers have lost their spot in crucible when everyone realised just how much they nerfed the subclass.
-
Woah text wall. Look. Su breaker super is op as fffff,,, It's the middle game that needs buff. That's just glitchy if u really hit him. Happens to all. With. Every thing
-
I think the biggest problem with the way some of these subclasses perform is simply out of lag and glitches. Indirect hits don't guarantee kills so even when it looks like you hit someone head on it doesn't count it cause the game reads it as hitting behind or to the side of them thus only minor splash damage vs ohk. I've watched Nightstalkers and Golden Gunners "hit" their target who then proceed to mystically wind up killing the Hunter anyway (some times all the enemy suffers is a shield drop, other times its nothing at all). Same with Voidwalkers and Sunbreakers. Every subclass has had its problems but the issues that stick around can color our perspective, which is likely where quite a few of the complaints and nerfs come from. In this example the hammer didn't hit directly cause that Warlock somehow managed to step forward enough to evade it thus received splash damage. In game it probably LOOKED like it hit directly which would bring someone to the assumption that the hammer is weak and needs a buff. The Sunbreaker seems fine with me and is in fact my favorite Titan subclass but I won't lie when I say I don't play PvP much and when I do I'm a Hunter (that sucks at using any subclass' super anyways). I believe the biggest issue is just technical problems where the glitches and lag interferes with our games making things extra difficult; you gotta pray that Lady Luck is with you every time you activate a super....

1 ReplyI like how if this was a hunter complaining about bladedancer or something theyll get non stop hate but since its a titan its fine.
-
It doesnt need a buff. It needs to be reworked to actually do what you said. Its been a nightmare for blade dancers even more so when the super even before the update would drain so fast while having to slash at people twice because shit didnt register and now sunbreakers have to deal with the frustration.
-
I can't agree with the cauterize going back to no cool down. It was a complete design oversight that it was the only healing ability in the game that didn't have a cool down. Transfusion lifesteal and the blade dancer perk all had cool downs for their effects.

1 ReplyI main Titan and I think hammers are ok. Once in a while some will eat my hammer but I can reliably get 2 kills, unless I screw up, which is basically the average for all the supers. I wouldnt complain if they buffed a few perks in the tree but I have fun w hammer as is now. Maybe an exotic armor piece that gives hammers grenades and horseshoes?
