Right now it is only at 200 and always am at max and wonder if in the new expansion if it would be raised ?
.....I use my marks btw but get them back too fast and sometimes they could be useful but instead of wasting where if it was raised it would give not only me but some other people some breathing room when it comes to trying to not waste marks
[spoiler] I noticed that when I woke up that 55 people liked this which is crazy to think such as it was made in such a short time but many people have been Saying that it should not be added as if it would hurt anything such as "people buying a full set from the vendor" and I know that no vendor(s) have anything decent on them in terms of armor but I don't see this as a problem as gear is at 280 when bought off a vendor
Wow so many people liked this his is really cool to be on trending plus I have read and tried to respond to every comment I can if I haven't on your I'm sorry and will most likely see it within the next couple hours :D

The point of capping glimmer and marks, is simply to avoid the whole hoarding issue. If you got 500 000 glimmer and 3000 marks, you could just buy every set immediatly when the next dlc/expansion comes out. This way, people have to, as you mention, be a little more careful about how they spend it.

5 RepliesI havent spend any marks in like 3-4 months, except infusion.. What are we supposed to do with them??
-
^this
-
Please yes!!!
-
I don't think there should be a cap,I just buy planetary materials as soon as I hit 200 and then the cycle continues.
-
After finally buying all vendor Sparrows, I kinda wish there were more cosmetic items available for sale with Legendary Marks, but maybe at a more reasonable price (the economy is so ridiculous in this game).
-
To be honest I don't think there should be a cap at all on marks or glimmer, really just don't see the point
-
5 RepliesThere should be NO cap. Currency should have no cap at all. Once I hit legendary mark cap, I stop doing dailies and playlist, which chokes out content. Either remove the cap, or give us more options to spend them on. ie. the hidden faction vendor weapons, let us exchange marks for SC/motes from xur.

52 RepliesEdited by Gloworm901: 8/18/2016 6:57:57 AMThese max amounts are way too low and need to be raised. Period. I spend mine on stupid stuff I don't even need because I am made to because of the caps. I pretty much have everything in the game I want. Spending materials and motes on faction rep is one of the absolute stupidest things you can do in the game. It is people like that, that we have to hear complain because they don't have enough of this or that to rank weapons and armor up. It is those people that complain that we need to have an easier way to get motes. Don't be an idiot and spend them on faction rep that, to be frank and honest, isn't worth a crap anyway. If you don't already have most, if not all that you need by now, you need to look at what you have wasted stuff on. I am sick and tired of hearing "I don't have any motes to open the perks on my weapon/armor" or "I don't have any heavy ammo synth". Why? Because you spent it on faction rep. The guardian that posted to spend the marks on an engram has to be one of most idiotic people I have ever seen post on here. Spend a bunch of marks only to get an item that you already have or has complete crap rolls. What do you get for your investment...... 3 marks, 5 at most back. Boy that is a good investment there. I am the guy that a lot of people wish you were or could be. I have over 2000 motes Over 4000 armor materials Over 3000 weapon parts Over 1000 strange coins Over 100 exotic shards Every exotic on Xbox in both years Max glimmer Max marks And I have over 200,000 glimmer in my vault that I can do with as I wish. I will never be the one complaining about not having. Be smart.

1 ReplyGlimmer cap 50,000 Legendary marks cap 300 That would do. ;)
-
It sucks that you only can have 200 marks. If I buy an vendor weapon I already lost 150.

Bump. I sincerely don't understand the reason or need for glimmer or mark caps. If this game allows us to save the resources we ordinarily can't irl, why should there be such a low, hard ceiling?
-
-
Part of me kinda agrees with this but then again if it was increased, it would be way to easy to aquire gear and would burn through content even quicker then some do now.
-
2 RepliesMe & a friend was talking about this. Why the -blam!- is the max 200 & everything we buy is 150??? That makes nooooo sense.

5 RepliesBeen using mine for materials....sitting on 12,000 combined planet materials. Feeling like a hoarder but don't want to waste them.

6 RepliesEdited by CUSTODYIN: 8/18/2016 5:17:28 PMya, I don't understand arguments that are like "no, don't up the cap! Because ppl can just buy all the stuff then!" Well... No, guys and gals, they can't just buy all the gear they want... You still have to earn your marks whether there's a cap or not, and you only get marks for doing certain things/dismantling... Like who cares if someone saves up enough to buy all of the gear? It's not like they're going to do it in one sitting, and if they do, well i'd say they earned it. It's not like the gear you buy from legendary marks is max light anyway. The same goes for glimmer, it doesn't need a cap. The way I see it, people should be able to earn things without being gated or limited. It's the one gripe I've always had with destiny and has been one of the reasons I stopped playing in the past, but it's been getting better... I don't like the fact that if I max my legendary marks I have to go spend them on something or any more I earn are just gone/wasted, even though I still earned them... The same goes for glimmer, why does it matter if I'm able to save more? It just means I'm able to keep playing instead of breaking to go to the tower for whatever reason. Point is, it should be up to the player whether they want to save or spend. Pretty much everything should be up to the player, but Bungie for some reason is adamant on gating progress, increasing the grind and keeping in little annoyances... Like if I want to buy 2-3 pieces of vanguard gear with legendary marks, I have to get my 200, buy something, go back out and earn the rest, come back again, buy the other thing... Isn't it just more streamlined and beneficial if I just don't have to go back to the tower right away and earn what I need? I could keep going on about it, but I've already written a short story about it... TL;DR, we don't need caps, players should be able to play/earn whatever at their own pace, not that set by Bungie...

I think 250 would be perftect
-
1 ReplySigned. I always use mine on bs materials and that's it.
-
No, glimmer cap first.
-
Oh because the amount we earn in a week especially the weekly bounties. In order for this to happen they would have to changed the amount we earn in daily story's and bounties especially iron banner. Even when we dismantle legendary weapons and armor.
-
Why is there even a max to these as well as glim?!
-
4 RepliesEdited by Yoder023: 8/18/2016 6:27:42 PMMarks should be at 250. I think that's an that's amount fair. But.... There I go..... Having an opinion again

I'd be okay with 300
