So, I saw a video of: My name is Byf about changes that could be making in The Rise Of Iron DLC, and a change that he states is that he would be excited if the infusion system had changes, not being 100% infusion and the cheer/enthusiasm of using new gear when a big DLC comes out, making greens and blues stronger than your current legendary gear set.
And I thought that it can be good for some people and to keep the game fresh, but it can not be that great for a majority of the player base (I myself don't care, unless they made current gear trash just because of the new DLC and we couldn't upgrade this said gear).
Since Rise of the Iron will mark year 3 for Destiny, I think that is not a point of invalidating our proggress because this DLC isn't supposed to be bigger than The Taken King. But Bungie themselves told about making a substantially light level upgrade, but maintaining the infusion system and other changes from The Taken King (as proof, in the trailer for the Rise of the Iron DLC we can see guardians using gear pieces and weapons from The Taken King on what seems to be the raid part of the upcoming DLC).
With this thought in mind I made my predictions to changes in the Infusion System that Bungie could make to please most of the player base in a way that keep things fresh and preventing exhaustive griding when the DLC drops. So lets get started :).
1) Imagine that Bungie raises the Light Level from 330 to 550 Light Level when Rise of the Iron;
2) We will have an *SMART Infusion Sytem. This system will work this way:
- Partial Infusion: from 0 to 500 Light Levels it would work with partial infusion light system. Just like the *Old infusion system. This way we prevent players saying that things are "too easy" and content will "dry up" fast. I.e. You have a gear with 350 and want to infuse in a 335, but is not 100% of infusion, more about from 50% untill 90% of the gear light level that you used as infusion fuel to the other gear;
- Full/Complete Infusion System (100% infusion system): from 500+ to 550 Light Levels, the beloved Infusion System that we have currently would start to work.
3) Packages Maintaining how they work but with some adjustments and changes:
- Vanguard/ Crucible Packages: would work the way they do right now, with packages dropping 1 to 5 Light Level points above from your current gear Light Level, at the max of 545 Light Level (any kind of gear);
- Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris: would drop the way the drop right now;
- Strike's Exclusive Gear/ Exotics Engrams: would drop 1 to 5 Light Level points above your current gear Light Level, untill reach Max Light Level (550* Light Level);
- Cryptarch: system would get revamped. His packages could drop gear untill 20 points below max light level (530* Light Level) and working the same way as other packages with gear dropping by 1 to 5 points above your current gear light level, so people wouldn't just abuse the system.
Hope you guys enjoyed, sorry if I made a couple of mistakes and other things. I'm open for discussion and other changes on the system that I've made. See you all in Rise of the Iron guardians! :)
EDIT 1.
As I thought, people would hate anything below 100% Infusion. I was experimenting and got the answer that wanted. PEOPLE WANT TO KEEP IT SIMPLE AND FUN!
The way that the system is right now is good but could be better, as I said about the REVAMPED CRYPTARCH REWARDS NEED TO HAPPEN AT SOME POINT.
EDIT 2.
To make gearing your guardian feel fresh, fun and to some fashion (including myself :P) besides adding new gears, Bungie should rework some gear perks and adding new ones, making some exotics and item class to change with sharders.

The old infusion system was shit. Keep it 1:1, it's fine.
-
8 RepliesAlready confirmed that infusion isn't changing and we can bring our Y2 infusable gear forward into Y3.

Edited by Maggot_McGirt: 6/18/2016 5:30:12 PMByf is a YouTuber who has a legion of people to play with. It would be easy for him to get a raid going and get max light. Some people dont have a lot of friends or simply have friends that stopped playing destiny. Lfg groups are hit and miss for most people. Also not everyone is competent enough to do a raid. The last raid I did there were people who didn't understand the daughters of Oryx strategy and we spent more time wiping. The Infusion system is fine.

3 RepliesInfusion is great and all, but I really really want them to bring back weapon re-rolls to the gunsmith. Grind for weeks to get an imago loop, get absolute shit roll.
-
I'll probably only keep my best/favorite items from TTK and infuse them to use in crucible because of the rolls or something ~~Dinklebot
-
3 RepliesI definitely agree that the Cryptarch needs to be reworked. Right now I get nothing from leveling up in him.
-
1 ReplyI'd prefer VoG/CE style of light, where only end game content gets you to the top, and other gear isn't as good, but Raid gear is good for PvE in general, and Trials gear is good for PvP in general
-
I personally love the current infusion system. As for everything else, I will have to check out byf's video and see what my opinion is on it
-
I believe infusion will stay pretty much the same as current system. http://gamerant.com/destiny-rise-of-iron-infusion-year-2-weapons/
-
Sounds like speculation and hope to me. Besides, some of those "questions" have already been answered. Bungle has already stated that the current infusion system will continue in RoI, so unless Bungle decides to reverse course (which for Bungle is entirely possible) that question is answered. Light level. Think back to the run-up hype for the April update. Remember when the devs said "we cannot reveal the exact light level increase, but we can say that it will be a significant increase"? Well, the increase was 15. The RoI reveal stream also had a developer utter those EXACT words... significant light level increase. Therefore, one can expect the new light level to be 350.

1 ReplyI believe they did a Fireteam chat on IGN and Deej or whoever else from Bungie was with him said the current infusion system is staying into Year 3.
-
No, whilst I like byf and some of his content, I'm sorry but the infusion system now rocks. If the gear is good, has decent perks and looks good people will keep it, either that or they'll use it to infuse whatever they want. The key to the expansions new gear being good is the perks, and the look of the gear. Infusion is fine the way it is.
-
1 ReplyEverything beside 100% infusion would be awful.
-
Keep infusion the way it is just now. I'll be very surprised if Max light is increased beyond 400 and would think 360 is more realistic. Something does need to be done about the garbage light level the cryptarch decodes most legendaries at.
-
Please don't change infusion, the way it is is perfect.
-
1 ReplyScrew Byf keep infusion the way it is now.
-
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. No.
-
Edited by Moot: 6/17/2016 3:15:52 PMI'm on 360 and can't change before the update arrives, so I honestly don't mind any changes, so long as they keep the infusion system the same on last gen.
-
That's extremely complicated and unnecessary. Keep it simple.
-
If they keep it as easy as it is now to get max lvl then it's a waste of time to even play. Needs to be a full reset. They should do like Diablo 2 did. Ladder reset. Start over completely. Then break the game into 2 sections. Ladder and non ladder. That way people can keep the old shit and still olay for new. I personally enjoy the grind. -blam!- being handed shit so easily.
-
My head hurts. Just keep it easy and fun.

Edited by OurWildebeest: 6/17/2016 3:02:19 PMGoing from 335 to 500 would be way out of line with what they've done before and would put more old content into the kiddie pool. My guess is they go to 350 if they want to be conservative or 400 if they want to push you to grind the new stuff faster.
