TBH, Geralt died in the books at the exact point the Witcher 1 started.
to make the games, they retconned it into amnesia after a coma.

They are all relevant, but don't be surprised if it seems like they're going off on a tangent. Regis was easily my favourite character behind Milva, I was glad to see him in B&W

I read it ended with him and Yennefer on and island didn't know he died. Thinking about getting the books. But they've been out for years. Why do they wait so long to translate them?

for some of the books, they're not really straight up stories, but story anthology collections. try to find some of the better translations.
