They do less damage than every other grenade except for Arc bolts, because everybody who cried about them got the nerf. I'm guessing Firebolt may possibly be the new arc bolt, useless.
What makes them effective, is Health regen prevention
Take away your Sun singers melee and grenade, and they've got nothing. It's bad enough that they get r@ped constantly in The Crucible/trials, especially when using Fireborn, their super....
Edit - so I'm reading and laughing at some of these responses, but what a lot of people choose to ignore is, that a grenade and melee attack is all the sun singer has

6 RepliesIf they wanna nerf the shit out Viking Funeral and Flame Shield, then Sunsinger should get the following changes: [u]Sunburst[/u]: increase the blast radius of Grenades. Longer duration for Solar Grenades. Basically, a combination of Annihilate and Vortex Mastery. [u]Radiant Will[/u] should have the bonus effect of boosting recovery for you and nearby allies while Radiance is active. Radiance recharges faster (kinda like the Gunslinger's Gunfighter perk). [u]Flame Shield[/u], if they change it to only activate on kill like Defender's Force Barrier, shouldn't use up a melee charge until it kills. [u]Solar Wind[/u] should have an AoE that pushes away, damages, and ignites surrounding enemies with greater knockback range. It should push enemies back about half the distance that a Taken Phalanx's ability can. [u]Brimstone[/u] should be an ability that casts an explosion on hit, blinding, damaging, and igniting enemies nearby. [u]Viking Funeral[/u] should be an ability where all your abilities will burn away the enemy's defenses while Radiance is active. Kinda like the Sunbreaker's Melting Point.

DoT is "broken". But... [u]Hunters[/u] have. Smoke and grenade Skip grenades that track cross map. Tripmines with actual OHK potential. Blink strike that kills from the front due to bug. Throwing knife that can OHK or leave them one shot. GG that one shots all supers Shadow shot to suppress. [u]Titans[/u] have. Shoulder charge. Lightning grenades. Suppressor grenades. Hammer of Sol shoulder charge. Healing perks on Sunbreaker and Striker. Force barrier and Back up plans. Twilight garrison. Titan skating. Every class has its crap. Warlocks were fine. This nerf will only give people something new to cry about.

The thing that floats away at Mach 10 as soon as it dies? Yeah, you need to be touching that Helium loaded Space rocket for a WHOPPING *Drumroll* . . . . . 72 damage, (May have tested Improperly) kind of difficult to Find someone in a public match willing to Participate and also manage to get inside the blast radius. 72 damage, For some perspective, Thats about as much as a High impact handcannon (First curse,Timurs lash,Judith D,etc.) body shot. for all those PvE players, that can kill a Rank 1 ad (Thrall,Psion,Shank,etc.) and nothing more (still damages of course). Our super? We have 1 choice, Fire-born, and even then the animation can get us killed immediately, How many times can you say you have been killed while doing the animation to your super? (Other than while you were in a firefight) Probably not many times, But this is a Regular thing for sunsingers All in all, yes, we could use some Nerfs here and there, But we NEED Buffs before we think of what to Remove, How many other classes have 1 option for all of their choices? How many classes can you guess what perks people are using and be right the Majority of the time? Do you use Weapons or Blessing of light? Aftermath or Shockwave? Gunfighter or Combustion? Vanish or Razors edge? Landfall or Superconductive? Quiver or Black hole?. There are so many other options for other classes, You go to Sunsinger and Its Fire-born or you ignore the perks, Yes radiant skin sounds nice, But you want to Know the difference it makes? 2-3 bullets, sometimes even 1. Touch of flame is a lil broken My only issue with warlock grenades is the firebolt, leave touch of flame But any grenade that does the work for you by tagging enemies in any direction shouldn't do so much damage

2 RepliesYeah I do not have any positive feelings that these adjustments will be positive in anyway, shape or form. Prior history supports that this will get screwed up just like every other modification that has been made. Would be willing to bet that these changes STILL won't be separated between PvP or PvE. Which in its self is mind boggling.

Warlocks do not need a nerf. I garuntee SunSinger will be shit in PVE because everyone cries in pvp. Bungie is going cater to all those crying little twats in pvp and ultimately kill this class in terms of PVE making warlocks useless. Like everything else they nerf, it becomes trash in PVE. Destiny isn't solely pvp. You guys need to realize PVE players suffer due to the nerfs

the melee is the real issue. i love my warlock but even I admit it. You should not get a shield for simply punching someone. You should have to get a kill to get a shield.

12 RepliesRegen prevention is too strong in 3v3 matches, taking a team member away for 15-17 seconds is brutally powerful. I'd change it for the sake of those modes, doing similar damage but concentrated into a smaller amount of time.

3 RepliesFirebolts can kill you in one shot, they need to increase the damage of the burn, and decrease the duration of the burn, shits annoying having to go get a fire extinguisher to put myself out. Burn for days.

My biggest problem is that it burns for so long. I'm fine with how much damage it does but it shouldn't keep me out of the fighter longer than if I just died and respawned. The damage should stay the same but the burn should last 3 seconds. If you can't kill me with 1 shot within the 6 seconds it takes for the burn to stop and start regenerating health, then you don't deserve the kill.

5 RepliesI main a warlock but I enjoy playing as a Titan or Hunter just the same. Because of this I am pleased where Warlocks are at in the PvE and PvP aspect. However let's talk change. Hunters; Blade dancers: I think the agility should be increased during the super and the hit detection should be fixed. Gunslinger: Could they finally fix trip mine grenades? I have seen and had them detonate on a guardians or my own foot and survived with a miniscule of health. What the hell is that? Also I want the Symbiote helmet to add time to the supers duration not reduce it this needs to be at the very least discussed. Nightstalker: Mmm. I know you're all thinking about the poison and vortex grenade wombo combo. Hear me out. I think the slowing of a character is the problem. I say reduce the initial damage of the smoke grenade and increase the disabling radar in PvP. So you have a better chance of surviving the combo but you don't have your radar to help you for a brief time. Titans; Defender: Personally I like where Defenders are but they have a lack in PvP unless it's control. I'm thinking fix the force barrier in terms although many fellow Warlocks will argue about this one because "force barrier has extra perks like regeneration and so forth, whereas flame shield does not." My response to that is to shut up. I've been killed in a melee fight while I got my flameshield. I think force barrier should activate on hit as well. Strikers: *Sigh* there's a lot of people complaining about "I jumped out of the way or in the air and still got killed". Big deal, if you're in the air when a warlock activates storm caller you may be screwed too. Not to mention Bladedancers can jump and get that extra height kill with a swing of their knife. Anyways I really want to see aftermath changed more than anything. If you manage to survive and step towards the pulsating electric ball I've seen players dodge out after a single pulse. I think we should speed up the pulses so it goes off faster but keep the damage the same. Sunbreakers: My God, like I said I main a Warlock but what in the hell did we do. OK straight to the point with this one. I think the 'tracking hammers' should actually be buffed a little more. Because they sure as hell don't alter flight path now. Secondly could we please get a microscopic(I'm talking 0.04% here bungie) of an increase to simmering flames? It does a good job but it's really not worth selecting unless it's in mayhem. Anyways like I said. Goku(Voidwalker), Emperor Palpatein(Stormcaller) and Jesus(I made a resurrection joke yes) are fine in both fields of PvE and PvP

2 RepliesA lot of grenades need fixed. Flux grenades should do more area damage to make up for the fact they are the weakest sticky. Arc Bolt needs buffed a bit. Firebolt should burn automatically, and the burn perks in the skill tree should be removed. (Including Viking Funeral)

But with Viking funeral and touch of flame it does the most damage of a grenade except sticky grenades which is stupid. Even axion bolts, which do around 100 damage, are harder to hit. People who are defending this rely on it way too much. People use firebolts are their main form of getting kills and taking people out of the fight and it's stupid. Don't remove Viking funeral, but reduce damage it deals by 4-5 ticks
