So... Kotaku is reporting that Destiny 2 has been delayed
Will not release this year, and that these bullshit mini-events will be the norm for the foreseeable future... If that is true, then it is official... Destiny is dead.

4 RepliesIf you think about it, this could go either way. I see this delay in 2 ways: 1. I SWEAR TO GOD IF ITS A GODAMN REBOOT LIKE THEY DID WITH DESTINY THIS IS NOT GOING TO GO WELL. Don't reboot it. Bungle worked on the original Destiny for how long? 3 years? It had its story complete but looked what what they did, and look at the result. 2. They're REALLY putting their work into the game. Destiny 2 is not going to be made by just Bungie. I believe High moon studios is helping? I don't know who that it is unfortunately but they need the to make Destiny 2 a damn good game. I don care how long it takes, as long as in the end, the wait is worth it. Good gameplay, QUALITY (not quantity) content, and for gods sake.... A balanced PVP. Oh, and a nice story. TTK's wasn't that bad. -[i]The guy with no house.[/i]

As for the "sources close to the goings-on in Bungie" say it's already been delayed from the Sept 2016 release, I wasn't aware Bungie announced the release date already. Was anyone else? Beyond that leaked image a year ago on the possible timeline, which wasn't official and has already been proven as inaccurate, Bungie/Activision hasn't released a timeline for the sequels release. It makes business sense to not release the date of the upcoming major DLC drop due in the next few months due to The Division dropping March 8.....which by the way was delayed 13 months from its original release date in February 2015, I know I preordered it in December 2014. Major games have delays all the time, so Kotaku saying there's already delays is similar to a telephone hotline psychic telling you things are difficult now but love and money are in your future. They are playing the odds. The odds are better for a game to delay then come out on a official or speculated timeline. Could Bungie do a better job with info release? Yes, but what I don't take into account is they have activision and its shareholders to answer to. The release of information for anything generating revenue has to be blessed off by those holding the pocketbook.

Bungie is probably the worst gaming company ever. They have no respect for their customers, they think we're all just mindless stupid people who will hand them money for stupid things like emotes and sparrows. these microtransactions are -blam!-ing lame. Anyone that spends money on them, seriously how stupid are you. This isn't what gaming is supposed to be. I wouldn't even consider destiny a video game anymore. It's more like a lame ass social network that no one uses anymore. This game is done, it's over. Bungie messed it all up before it even started. All because they're some greedy sons of bitches. I will make sure to leave a horrible review on every upcoming destiny 2 article I read just to warn all the newcomers about how bad a company Bungie is. Glad I traded Destiny in. Haven't looked back once. This is the worst game I have ever played. Cannot believe I put so many hours into it. There are sooooo many better games out there that have real content. I suggest everyone try looking elsewhere cause Bungie and this game are garbage! Get a real game like Fallout 4, Demon Souls, Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear Solid V, pretty much anything is better than destiny.

It could be good for at least the multiplayer mode without lagg and cheat if there is no more content in raid or other playlist. this attitude is disappointing ......

I know the engine they have (umbra 3) is a piece of shieeeeet to work with (as per their own GDC conference a while ago) therefore while creating the content (art, models and story) which is all made on other software is fast enough, putting that all together in the engine is a nightmare. This can only mean that they are trying to get some breathing room so they can fully create Destiny 2 and the following DLCs so once it releases they have plenty of time to focus on Destiny 3. This supports this supposed delay. HOWEVER, they are published by Activision, the company that time and time again pushed out release after release, not caring about the content or over-saturation of the market. I can't, for the life of me, see them saying ok to delaying destiny, specially knowing how hungry the community is. They would happily make Bungie release it and forever play catch-up with their franchise. EDIT: grammar

Delayed or scrapped? Lol. Well they dug their own graves. They made a nice cash grab and now that this venture isn't profitable it will be left at the wayside to rot. When you look at the statistics for the most played games online destiny isn't even in the top 20. So congrats to everyone who supported this soon you will own NOTHING you can play.

5 RepliesLet me tell you something you definitely failed to grasp: Destiny 2 was never announced to release this year. Despite what we saw in their contract with Activision stipulating a game this year it also says this is all subject to change. They have never made an official announcement so technically you can't delay something that is not even official. However let's assume for a moment that they were planning on it and did have to delay it. Would you rather have a shoddy product or have something special? Because if at this point everybody keeps hitching about changes and changes they will most likely not have the time to properly develop the sequel. I prefer they delay in favor of delivering a product for better quality. That has been one of our biggest criticism ever.

I honestly don't care because bungie didn't announce anything officially. Id rather have the perfect destiny we all expected in two years than another shitty excuse in September. Hope they are taking this time to get everything perfect now that they know what works and what doesn't work. Here's to hope.....

I literally dont care about destiny 1 atm i think they should release updates to make all guns available again and then the game will be fine until the end of the year with these free mini updates :) If destiny 2 got delayed it means they are pouring their heart and soul into it in order to make it the best possible game on release! heck i even bet there will be two raids and 3x as many guns at launch! i even bet they might have a random gun kitbash style generator in order to keep content going.

The base game honestly should have been delayed a year or 2 but that would have meant tons of time and money down the drain for all the work they put into last gen. I'm hoping another year will give them the time to rework the game and give it an updated engine so they can make a true living open world. They really need to relaunch this franchise the way it was advertised. By dropping last gen they should have the extra resources to do so. But rushing Bungie is not the way to go. They can make beautiful works of art, but if rushed, you'll get crap no matter who is making it. The idea of Destiny is a great one, but I don't want to see that idea ruined by another rush job.
