Will not release this year, and that these bullshit mini-events will be the norm for the foreseeable future... If that is true, then it is official... Destiny is dead.

2 Replies"If it's delayed than that means they are taking their time and making the game better" I'm going to laugh when Destiny 2 gets released and it's as bad, if not worse than Destiny You guys are so hopeful for this Company that has been nothing but disappointment for 2 years.

Kotaku is the clickbait queen of gaming 'news'. Whenever they're having a slow day, they publish some shit like this. They know that the spastic children who make up the majority of Destiny's fanbase will go for it, hook line and sinker.

"While it’s easy—and justifiable!—to complain about Bungie’s often woeful communication, much of their silence is doubtless due to the legal complications of working with a publicly traded publisher like Activision as well as their own uncertainty surrounding the game in 2016. The Destiny malaise may linger a while longer." These things happen when you sell your soul to the devil!

2 RepliesHow can something be delayed if a release date was never announced for it? When did Bungie say Destiny 2 was even going to be released anytime soon?
-
I will get Destiny 2, but I've lost all hope for the current one.

1 ReplyWait...when was Destiny 2 announced? I wasn't expecting that until q1 2018.

13 RepliesEdited by iMoto Bro: 1/23/2016 7:18:21 PMDestiny 2 was never going to come out in 2016. Bungie never spends less than 3 years on development for their games. Plus there's still another Vex based expansion and whatever "Forge of the Gods" turns out to be. You can say that leaked images aren't guarantees all you want but so far that timeline for DLC has been correct other than HoW being delayed and The "Comet" expansion was renamed "The Taken King". Activision is pretty strict with DLC timelines, which is why CoD's DLCs always come out at the same time every year like clockwork. They tried to push that rushed timeline on Bungie and realized it wasn't going to work so they gave them a bit more time in between DLCs after realizing it was a mistake to rush out The Dark Below. The little events & microtransactions are just a way to keep money coming in between major content releases. So I'd still expect to see the "Vex Void" and one expansion after that in 2016, possibly in September as the big kick off to "year 3". Then maybe at E3 Bungie will announce Destiny 2. Destiny began it's concept stages as early as 2007 because there was an Easter egg in Halo 3: ODST with the Destiny logo. As soon as work finished on Halo 3, they were already working on the ideas for the game. And then Destiny was first announced at E3 2012, more than two years before it came out. I just don't see them saying "surprise here's Destiny 2" without at least a full year's notice to give it time to build hype. Activision is really good at hyping up games and they'll want to make Destiny 2 seem a million times better than its predecessor even if it's only slightly different (like CoD games every year). In order to do that they'll need at least a full year to advertise and create hype, kinda like a politician campaigning for votes. They also spent a ton on Destiny so they'll milk this game until it's no longer profitable before releasing a new game that will take profits away from the current game. If Destiny is making them money, they'll keep supporting it.

HOW DO YOU DELEY A GAME THAT HASN'T BEEN ANNOUNCED?!? I just do not understand.

1 ReplyKotaku is for nerds.

This article is amazing, there's no actual confirmed sources, and other sites are actually quoting this article as true....my friend works in a hospital, he heard they can cure cancer, believe me.

1 ReplyEdited by Kwrky: 1/24/2016 2:59:40 AMBungie has, to my knowledge, never released a console game on initial schedule. This was predictable, and they are doing it to make a better game. It's a good thing.

Edited by ImDaBeInEr: 1/24/2016 2:28:39 AMWhy do people complain about not getting new content I know that it gets boring doing the same thing over and over But cod fans never complain about not getting new content and when they do its literally reskined maps, sometimes zombies and only recently new guns And they don't complain In destiny at least we get new guns, maps, quests etc. Not quickly because let's be honest do we really want another dark below 3-4 story missions 2 quests that go on for ever Sure it was fun but it got boring really fast Little things that lead up to a big one is cool I'll wait Shit I'll play another game in the mean time But seriously people need to stop complaining
-
4 RepliesDead? Taken King has been out almost 4 months. Most games don't last that long and this one is still popular on twitch for its MP. Just sssshhhhh
-
Lol these people and the Forbes guys are like " OMG MY LEAKED INFORMATION ISNT CORRECT SO DESTINY IS DEAD, ALSO WHY DONT YOU MAKE US PLAY THE SAME CONTENT FOR TEN YEARS". I don't get why people complain ,like they don't play, but all they do is complain about the game that their apparently "not playing"
-
Kinda hard to delay a game that has not been announced yet.
-
Good. If it means the end result will be better, I'm all for it. Too many games come out with less content and more bugs than expected due to unreasonable deadlines.
-
5 RepliesFrom what I understand, there has been no official release date for Destiny 2. So how can it then be delayed?
-
This kotaku dude is a loser, who cares what he writes it's all bs.
-
2 RepliesDon't know about you, but I'd rather wait a long time for a badass game to come out, rather than "oh no better cut it out and sell it as DLC so we can make the timeline"
-
12 months of silver events haha
-
2 RepliesUsually when a game is delayed it is so it can be made better, so have destiny 2 be delayed does not mean destiny is dead.
-
4 RepliesI'm fine if it's delayed and a better game for it
