Here's a video I made in hopes that this can help some of you improve your Trials game. This is my first "How To" video so let me know what you think. Let me know if anything in the video helps you. Thank you for your time and response. Cheers.
Update: Thank you to those who have been supportive and helpful. This is my first video of this style and I truly hope that it can help some of you. You don't have to sub and I won't harass you to but I will be putting out more videos on this topic soon. It will cover skirmish, salvage, elimination and I will give you specific tips on how to apply all of these things to Trials. Thanks again.

6 RepliesEdited by Cito: 1/21/2016 3:39:21 PMRumble will not help you for trials, yes it might help you for 1v1s, but that's not what trials is at all. Rumble doesn't have designated spawns, so that's a terrible way to devise a plan and execute it. If you're going to tell people to play rumble to improve, make sure you tell them about all that comes with every 3v3 game types. You know? Stuff like: Revives, team pushing and playing smart. Rumble doesn't promote any of that. Rumble is all reaction time and knowing spawns. My advice? Play skirmish, develop a sense of when to push/play a revive of your teammate. A lot of people tend to forget that when you revive, you gain an overshield. Incorporate that overshield into your play, remember that, that overshield saves lives yo. Radar and awareness are easily THE most important things to incorporate into your play. Always, and I mean always, take a look at your radar and be aware of your surroundings. Are you seeing three radar blips in the direction that you're going? Don't push that, find an angle and bait them out one by one. Are you seeing a radar blip at the end of that suspicious looking hallway? Don't push, it's most likely a sniper, what do you do? Flank it, or push him with tracking grenades/AoE grenades. Of course, skirmish isn't as strategic as ToO or elimination, but it helps you develop a feel for how to engage a team of three. Always, think a step ahead. Think like this, "If I get pushed here, can I run away without dying?" If the answer is no, don't push that way. The single biggest tip I can give any of you is, don't push a single player to a 1v1. If that single player is obviously challenging to a 1v1 encounter, it's obvious that he thinks he has a chance at winning that said encounter. If there's one person left alive, push him together, of course as long as it's not a nova bomb or fist of havoc. A good player will turn into absolute trash if he stops having awareness. That's the most important thing to have in mind. You must have awareness. Need more tips or watch some gameplay of me doing all of this that I talk about? Come check out my channel, here are some plays of mine. https://youtu.be/PmVu_GzDPvU I appreacite you trying to help players, it's a good thing to do.

3 RepliesI am hearing this from a lot of really good players. Great Post TheKro16. Need more dudes like you. I am fortunate to have a friend I raid with who is also a top 1%er...He teaches me a lot. Very patient, never yells at me when I make mistakes. Tells me how to fix them. BTW that friend tells me he thinks clash helped him improve his game.

1 ReplyRumble will not help with trials... because it's a completely different style no matter how much you equate gunfights from 1 mode to another. Trials plays like a game of area control. You know where the other team will spawn, and your TEAM's goal is to get to the most advantageous position on the map to take them out or pin them in a small location on the map. Rumble is every man for themselves and area control has very little to do with the game. You can control an area an ENTIRE match, while the other 5 players avoid you. Rumble is about winning 1 on 1 gunfights the entire time, and the majority of the time it's a primary weapon you're using to get kills. Trials has 1 on 1 gunfights, but most teams will agree that eliminating another team is easier when you gang up on 1 player. And one of the popular ways of winning a 1 on 1 gunfight, is a sniper rifle. Rumble games are almost always going to be determined by who gets the heavy ammo and whether or not they can keep their machine gun for a while without being killed. Trials has 1 heavy ammo round, which plays a minimal role in the overall outcome. My stats alone show how different the 2 game modes. Rumble has my highest KDR at over 2 because the game mode of killing 1 person and getting to the heavy before they do suits my playstyle. My trials KDR is much lower because I never use a snipe rifle and the slow elimination gameplay does not suit my playstyle. I have to play Rumble completely different from the way I play trials.

71 RepliesEdited by Dro-Logic: 1/21/2016 4:56:51 AMIm not trying to be a dick but how do people have trouble in trials? My question would be is destiny your first fps? As a hardcore call of duty player destiny is easy to be good at because of its mechanics and gunplay. When in situations like 1v3 I find it to be easy to win because first of most players don't play as a team and rush you one by one and you can kill them one by one. Someone once told me that if youre a pubstar in cod you'll be a god in destiny. Apparently its true since destiny doesn't seem hard to be good at. I think what people lack is fast reaction time. When playing search and youre the only one left the only way you'll win is by reacting to things quick enough to turn on people or my favorite sound horn and find them. And no im not good because I spend 24 hours on destiny I hardly play it and manage to keep a 2.0 in trials with over 60 flawless on just my warlock. My advice would be practicing how fast you react to situations and play tactical when going against a good team. Of course if you get paired up with scrubs just go pubstar on them and get the win quick.
my psn is dro-logic for those that want to see my stats. I have .y profile on private because I feel like it.
1 ReplyThat was great help I'll give some of that a go later. I don't do a lot of weapon swapping but looks like the change is in the air. Cheers.

10 RepliesI tried to go to the lighthouse since day 1 of trials. Spent a majority of the year treating PVP like cod and got my cheeks smacked all over year 1. Then I started beefing up on 3v3 game modes and Rumble. These modes force you into a lot of 1 v 1 battles, teach you about the importance of proximity, and broke me of my run and gun cod style. Went flawless for the first time on Memento, and again on blind watch. For sure these game modes teach you the importance of choice when challenging. Definitely agree!

1 ReplyI think anything in the crucible would help you in lots of ways so long as you know your weakness and strengths. I mean for me I'm really bad at picking fights with snipers that are either better or just annoying when in a group together.
