Why I finally stopped playing Destiny. Let me start off by saying I'm ancient, in gamer terms. I played Frogger on an Atari 2600 back in the day. I bought the original Xbox because of Halo. I own every Halo game Bungie put out and (unfortunately) a couple they didn't. I played the Beta for Destiny and have been playing Destiny every weekend and several weeknights for a little bit since it came out. I've had an account here at bungie.net for five years and since I started Destiny, I've got a 4400+ grimoire score and my KDR is 1.33...would be better, except for grinding out mind-numbing Crucible specific quests...I'm better than most of the chumps who's best reply is "Git Gud." Oh...and I almost always play solo. No clans. No teams. I take what the matchmaking gods give me and most of the time, I crush it. This ain't my first rodeo. I got hosed on the pricing for the Taken King, like everyone else, but I had faith that it was worth it. I even shelled out around $20.00 during the festival of light on packages, just to score the Skull mask (worth it.) I accepted that "some" elements would be only available to PlayStation users for a set amount of time. I even choked down the drastically long wait times that would entail. I get it. Activision may have had it in their contract with Sony, blah-blah-blah, but we still love our players. Even you Xbox folks. I've been in Bungie's corner and an apologist since the first problems arose. Eventually, PSN and Xbox users will have the same content, same access, same everything, just give it time. It's not Bungie's fault. It's gotta be in a contract somewhere. Then something happened that finally ticked me off at the end of last year. The last Iron Banner. See...Iron Banner was supposed to be about how good you are. Gear mattered, but skills mattered more. Do good enough for long enough, and you earn the IB rewards. But for some reason, this last bit of equality had to be tinkered with. Somehow, someone, thought "Dangit...we don't give the PlayStation folks enough exclusives...lets give them something specific for Iron Banner." There was no need for it, and I'd be willing to bet a steak that it WAS NOT in a contract somewhere. Otherwise, it would have come out long ago. Someone thought it would be a cute middle finger to Microsoft. I had been planning to swap over to PlayStation this year, just for Destiny with some of my friends. But, if that's the way Bungie wants to treat a large segment of their gamer base, and there is ZERO way I can see this as anything other than a Bungie initiative, I'm out. Yeah, it's just a cosmetic thing. I get it. But Iron Banner was supposed to be about skill alone. If you're good, you get the loot. Except now if you're a PSN subscriber, then you can get more loot. Not another penny from me. I may pop back on to Destiny if any new content (content that Xbox users can actually see, that is), but may days of being devoted are done. Congratulations, Bungie. You've managed to alienate someone who has been a loyal customer for nearly fifteen years...with a simple helmet. Straws and camels, my friends. For PSN folks, enjoy it all. I'm honestly happy for you that Bungie loves Sony/PlayStation so much that they feel the need to arbitrarily bestow gifts on you at every turn. In thirty years of gaming, I don't think I've ever seen such jerkishness. Console specific exclusives are one thing, but this is just too much. For the Xbox folks, Bungie doesn't give two squirts about you. You are and always will be a second-class citizen to Bungie. I. Am. Done.

It's just going to get worse now that bungie has clearly moved on to destiny 2. They never wrote the wrongs from year one so when normally a move like this would be ok with most games it just comes across terrible.
