Now...
Ever think about how much some of these nerfs and -blam!- ups/post patch glitches suck? Now imagine for a second you didn't know about the forum or at least don't follow it or any other media information regarding the game. Should be easy because a theoretical 90% of the gaming community inside the game don't do these things.
I don't know, just started wondering what it would be like to just play the game, avoid the small community in the forums and have to deal with random game breaking changes that I never asked for, never realized they were a problem and am slowly having a game ruined for me while I remained ignorant. Would suck to be them.
What about you? What do you think it would be like to be an ignorant casual and how you would feel every time you have to change how you play the game. Which changes would have devastated you and breaks that would have changed your opinion of the game? Or maybe even aditions you would have been surprised by and approve of?
Edit: (I always wanted to make a post that people reply to without actually reading... Why did it have to be a post about a mental exercise and not one of my few troll posts to test that exact idea? Legitimate question here.
I think I know the reason people are doing it actually... I'll move this here.)
Those people (ignorant casuals) are having to constantly change how they play or find new weapons because they might only keep the weapons they like, like the pulse rifles before the last nerf. And all for what? A bunch of whiny kids on a forum? I mean, I know Bungie bases their decisions on stats, but can we really believe that's the reason they push to nerf things? Sorta sad when you imagine this huh?
Clarity edit: Since most here have the attention span of goldfish and intelligence of ... well... the same it seems -.- let me break it down with a simple definition list of what is being talked about in my subject and what most of you, minus ...3 people..., seem to be confused about. Please let me know if something comes across misconstrued in my subject so I can fix it and remove this clarity edit.
Casual: gamer that plays casually. Meaning they put no interest is keeping update on game changes, forum and twitter updates nor socialize with people on the forums. Yes I know that's not your definition, but that's what I'm using.
Ignorant: Someone who doesn't know something. (Simple and specific, if you get offended, just go away)
It's funny how almost all of you are dumb enough to get stuck on arguing about my definitions instead of just reading and replying to the post for what it is. This community is complete -blam!-ing trash. I'm sorry me changing how you personally define a word is so hurtful to your red little pussies.

1 ReplyWhile I'll detract from your score for condescension, witting or not, you brought up a salient point: the effect on the unaware. It's negligible. Most casual players will, when confronted by a large change in standard play, fiddle around with it, perhaps utter something like "Wat", and move on. The subtler changes, such as a .07 decrease in fire rate on AR's, will go unnoticed. The casual players are here for the visual fluff, and the undeniable thrill of wading through hundreds of alien miscreants like a Greek demigod. We here on the forums often forgo that innocence in favor of what we hope to be understanding, but often get sucked into raging wars over the Overpowered and the Master Class. It's hubris to believe that any of us are in any way superior to any other player. And yet, dozens if not hundreds of posts a day cry out those very screeds. The point of any game is to have fun, not tear down the mechanics of the game universe in order to stride between worlds as gods. I say leave them to their fun, and perhaps join them in it. The knowledge gained isn't worth it when it destroys your capacity for fun. All in all, I give you an 8/10. Well thought out, and basically well put. Just remember, tact is an essential part of any discussion, and while ignorant is technically correct, it's an insulting term in this circumstance. Keep up the good work, and have fun if you can!
