Who here on this toxic forum actually just plays to have fun?!
I mean, yeah I see the plans and don't agree with the business model. But, I am having fun with chasing certain guns and trying to get the best rolls. It's like collecting Pokemon cards to me. Nowadays I don't have much time to play and at this pace I quite enjoy myself.
In the demo, I spent hours shooting stuff in the Divide in the Cosmodrome. That tiny place had a great atmosphere to me. Sometimes I put some nice music on, and go explore the environments. No stressing about lagswitchers in Trials, noobs in raids, just me, my new gun and the place I am in. And I am on 360, but still love the beauty of the scenery.
Might not work for everybody, but stop stressing about something that supposed to relief stress.

I love it, pokemon and rpg games gave a me a sense of Addiction to playing video games, so Destiny is just an upgrade to them, so I love it and all the complainers can gtfo

The only true way to tell if someone just plays for fun is to see if they ever wanted something nerfed. If they did, well... they might not play for the right reasons...

The friends you make coupled with the good times you have come above everything else...Proof!?! I'm in the process of dispatching 5 PS4's to clan members and close friends still on the old generation in order for all of us to be playing on the same system (2-5 already delivered in time for Christmas)...the game is simply a vessel for all of us to interact in and kick some ass!

Stand on one foot do a triple back flip of a cliff sprout wings and fly into an airplane's windshield. The impact should shatter it. Once inside you will encounter the co-pilot who is Russian. Threaten to beat him with a rock unless he teaches you the Russian language in less than fifteen seconds. Once you know Russian run into the passenger cabin screaming incoherent babble in Russian. At this point you should remove your pants. Put your rock on someone's lap and sit on it like its your newly laid egg and you're the last of your species. Then turn your head around 180 degrees and look the guy you're sitting on directly in the eyes, touch his forehead with your forehead and begin violently growling until your vocal folds detach. Once they detach cough them up and lay them on your rock to help keep it warm for the coming winter.

I agree with you. The game seems to have lost its sense of community. What ever happened to giving someone a respectful bow or a wave every now and then.

When it comes to destiny i am a completionist! I want to do everything the game has to offer on each character. I want to collect every ship, shader, emblem etc... I want to reach rank 25 in each faction on every character. And when my goals are fulfilled I will get my favourite gear and get to 320. When all that is accomplished will I play for fun? I honestly don't know, I don't think I will. Destiny is a giant checklist for me, when I play it's "How can I progress" or "what do I HAVE to do this week" not lets do this or that cause it's fun, but yes going after my goals are fun :) But when I play, I mainly play to benefit my character and finish that checklist... Anyways thats just me :)

I've been playing since the alpha, and back then all I would do is go on patrol and explore the cosmodrome for hours. It may feel insignificant because there was nothing new, just the same missions you could repeat but simply going out there and shooting fallen was fun. To this day I still very much enjoy just going on a planet and shooting enemies, the gameplay mechanics make the shooting part enjoyable. While I agree with many that Bungie could've done a better job with the original story to make it more engaging, I think they did a good job with TTK in that regard. I felt much more part of the story this time around and the characters around you actually had....well character. I guess what I'm saying is that if you can't enjoy the little things and all you focus on is the raid and if you'll finally get that piece of loot you've been wanting for so long, why are you still playing? Like OP said it will all eventually go away when we have a new light cap. So does it really matter if you get to 320 or not? I personally don't raid for simple reasons, I don't have enough friends that play destiny and I hate finding people in lfg channels no matter what game it is. I am however still going to try to get to 320 because I want to, not because I have to. And if I can't make it before the next game/expansion then so be it. It won't kill me. It's what I feel anyways, if all you have left is a tedious grinding for that elusive piece of 320 gear and stop enjoying the little things that can make this game enjoyable then it's your loss, and explains why so many people are tired of everything cause it feels more like work then fun. Anyways, I've rambled on enough so /end :)
