EDIT: Atari 2600 (1977) is not an option, I'm so sorry, there's no point in doing a poll if you already assume the results. (I had to choose between removing older consoles or last gen, and I assumed there are more kids in here than old school gamers, my bad).
There's no better and more accurate way to understand this community than by our first contact with games.
Tell your story on gaming, if it's a passion or casual leisure.
My first console was Sega Genesis
And the first game: Sonic 2
I had a super nintendo after that and used to play some N64 on my best friend's house, he was the rich one..
I really got into gaming and saw my fav franchises rising or reaching their top on psone and ps2.
I followed the playstation line cause, understand, I got nothing against xbox, but it's strong related to my childhood and the games I grew up playing.
The current console wars is so dumb for me, cause we used to get along just for having an interest in common, we were rare, outsiders, it doesn't matter if your favorite was sony, nintendo, sega or microsoft.

2 RepliesEdited by Tartan 118: 12/17/2015 11:45:18 AMPS1. But we had a Commodore Amiga before that. Then some sort of Atari. I think it was an Atari ST. Might even have it in the roof somewhere.

1 ReplyCurrently on 360. Will upgrade to One when funding is available (e.g., how about dat tax refund?!). But ran PC as a child for main. DOOM, Half Life, etc. also played regular kids games some too. Need for Speed as well. Dislike that it was only drag racing though and no tracks. I also had a gameboy.

6 RepliesI started with my Super Nintendo. Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 I grew up with Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi. When I got a N64, I grew up with Pokemon, Duke Nukem, Mario, Yoshi, (mostly nintendo figures) Turok, Quake (scared me senseless when I play) and.... one more... OH BANJO KAZOOIE. Thats all I really remember... Ah Mortal Kombat, Mishief Makers (Great game, just nobody knows what it is.)

1 ReplyEdited by Judge_Rhymehold: 12/17/2015 4:05:06 PMHousehold the first was calico and Atari. Nes I actually remember playing more of it but technically was my brothers. First system I bought with my own money was a Super Nintendo. Oh how I loved that thing. Played the crap out of it. Still likely the best $150-ish I ever spent! But we had a bunch between my brother and me. Both sega and nintendo. Game gear and game boys. Played ps1 and enjoyed it but skipped ps2-3 for XBox. Cause once anyone saw a modified original Xbox playing every single rom imaginable, streaming videos from a media center like they started doing with 360, renting and burning games to hardrive.... Pure love! Loved 360 too. They let people mod the Xbox so they could get their ideas for 360. Got a one and liked it until playing my friends ps4. So I got ps4 and it's now my choice console! Nintendo burned me with wii. Cool concept but I'm not into what they offer really I guess. If I had kids or was younger maybe. So I haven't been keeping up with them. Do miss Zelda and MKart. Also; loved dreamcast! And GameCube may have been my favorite system yet. Mostly that controller! And don't care what people say, love love loved wind waker. That perfect Saturday morning cartoon feel.

Ye old Nintendo 64 with Starfox 64. Must have beaten that game at least 40 times.

12 RepliesNintendo 64 - Nintendo Gamecube - Nintendo Wii - Xbox 360 - Xbox One & PS4 I was a die-hard Sonic fan up until Unleashed. Though Unleashed was awesome, for some reason I was ever motivated to go get Colors or Lost World after. I did end up getting Generations, but that was because they had a sale on Sonic games on the 360. Strangely despite being a Sonic fan my favorite game was always Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, which is still one of my favorites to this day. ^-^ I'm hoping to get a Wii U & 3DS to play some Nintendo games like Kirby and Zelda eventually, but I gotta save up for a new phone (bleh) and a car (double bleh) and since I never took Driver's Ed in high school I gotta go get a license too. Ugggggh.. I hate money. -.-

1 ReplyEdited by The Fallen Zyzz: 12/16/2015 6:38:24 PMSNES. After that, I got a N64. As soon as it was released, I got a Xbox in the subsequent generation. Good times, man. Good times. It's a shame that games don't look like they will ever be that good again.

1 ReplyI actually had a Sega Dreamcast, Xbox, and a GameCube. All were such great consoles at the time especially Halo 2 Local on Xbox 👌👌. I think my favorite was probably GameCube just because of Smash Melee played at least 1-4 hours a day and still do to this day.

5 RepliesPsone I used to love playing crash bandicoot and spyro and I'm embarrassed to admit this but just in honor of the force awakens I used to love playing the Phantom Menace on my ps one that game was really amazing though for its time I remember how authentic the Darth maul fight was

1 ReplyEdited by Martiis: 12/17/2015 2:11:30 AMNES , either got it in 89' or 90' I'm not too sure as I was still pretty young. I got my first PC in 96' though running Windows 95, and that quickly became my main gaming machine. Playing games like Doom, Warcraft 2, and Wing Commander. I also had quite a few other consoles such as the n64, ps1, ps2, and xbox but I honestly never really played any of those that much, and didn't really play a console until the xbox 360 and ps3.

Atari. I had some cops and robber game set in a mall. Tbh, I think it might have been Paul Blart.
