Sword drops are beyond rare
two days now of farming spinmetal. Over 50 gathered for 1/10 rare items needed. Talk about rare indeed. I did one sword and it didnt take nearly this long to gather these items. Bungie, quit nerfing everything you can get your fingers on. Your taking the fun out of the game, and your doing it at a record pace. You guys probably don't even look at these threads anyway, so I'm just wasting my time here. But I don't know where else to vent this frustration.

I did helium filaments last night for 30 minutes and got 3 of the rare materials. I'm sure you're going about it the wrong way. Equip a ghost that detects the material. When you scope in on a sniper, it detects the majority of the material in the area.

You could just get fallout and collect Junk throughout the wasteland and actually use it to modify your weapons. >>Instead of collecting 50 spinmetal for 1 legendary spinmetal 10x for a sword that shoots electricity

3 RepliesGet a spinmetal ghost and level the perks up. Then ride around the area you spawn and the area to the left and then the divide when they aren't spawning as frequent. I got it done in 30-45 min. About 100 spinmetal collected

3 Repliestook me about 300 pickups. something that really helped me was hereafter if you scope in, it will show you where every material is in your area

If you only have 50 materials you have a long long way to go. Me and friend ended up with almost 500

It gets infinitely easier with the following trick combo: use a ghost that can detect whatever material you need, ADS with a scout rifle to expand the ghosts detection radius to medium range, ADS with a sniper for long range.

Get a ghost that spots it, it seems to up the drop rate for some reason

Keen Scout helps, if you are Hunter. If not, maybe you could get a friend to help you.

I have 200 and only six of these, -blam!- this exotic sword

U can finish it in 1 1/2 hrs. U need a ghost the finds the material u are looking for. And make sure and get all the chests. I know the chest don't give it to u but when u open chests it spawns more on the ground.

I had to get 157 material nodes until I got them all

I found a great spot where 2 spawned right near a zone exit so I just kept on leaving and coming back for a solid hour and a half and that's how I got mine.. I got lucky.

For the spinmetal farming it took me almost 3 hours to get all ten

Got all 10 from relic iron and Spinmetal in 135 and 158 respectively. It's edge farming and ghost shells with a low-zoom sniper to find the resource nodes.

You have to do it Y1 style. Run around the area picking up nodes (and a few chests if you need the mats) or you find a node close to q different zone and run back and forth to the node.

You need to do old school vanilla destiny edge farming. Took me about an hour and a half to get get all 10 from relic iron

50 drops? Lol, it takes 2hours of averagely 200+ drops, you don't even understand how hard it is.

I feel your pain. The spinmetal actually went pretty quick for me in the mothyards (maybe just over an hour). Now the relic iron... I think it was over three times that. [spoiler]I honestly lost my mind[/spoiler]
