Sword drops are beyond rare
two days now of farming spinmetal. Over 50 gathered for 1/10 rare items needed. Talk about rare indeed. I did one sword and it didnt take nearly this long to gather these items. Bungie, quit nerfing everything you can get your fingers on. Your taking the fun out of the game, and your doing it at a record pace. You guys probably don't even look at these threads anyway, so I'm just wasting my time here. But I don't know where else to vent this frustration.

It's usually done at about 200 materials.

You will collect between 150-200 to get them all. 3-4hours That is all for One exotic sword lol.

Use a ghost to help find it, check youtube for old farming routes, that part does suck, but it's not that bad, spinmetal was the worst by far, probably took me 3-4 hours, relic iron about 2-3 hours and helium 1 hour.

2 RepliesFarm smarter not harder, leaving a zone before a upgrade material disappears while no one is in the area will reset it allowing you to harvest again. Did this in the Mothyards near the Skywatch building with the Hive in about 15 minutes for all 10 rare mats.

Keen Hunter Use a sniper scope to see where spinmetal is available to harvest Don't bother with chests It is annoying but very doable in about 30-45 minutes.

What did you hope to accomplish by all this whining? Most of us just sucked it up and knocked it out, never thinking once about crying to the forums about it.

I did both the Arc and Solar simultaneously. Both 10/10 rare materials. Both 100% ability kills. Both on the same day. That was light work. Go play a real grind-oriented game.

A ghost with spinmetal sensor and a sniper rifle will show all the materials in the area.

If you have a ghost that tracks the materials you are looking for it doesn't take more than a couple of hours if you're a day one player who knows the og farming routes

4 RepliesYou should plan on gathering around 200 mats before complaining. I have completed all 3 swords, 160 mats gathered during each one give or take 15.

Edited by kcjames1138: 11/19/2015 6:07:52 PMGet ghost that finds spinmetal. Takes less than an hour to run back and forth between the first two zones in patrol on the cosmodrome and get all you need. And I don't mean abuse the load system. Just run in a big circle getting everyone that shows on your HUD in one zone then go to the next and get those and then back to the first.

That's just the way it is guardian. I'm glad I finish all my exotic swords quest. The moon grind was a pain. But earth went kind of fast for me. Just hang in there.

They didn't get nerfed lol. you've got bad luck. Stay in the Steppes...use a sniper rifle + spin metal seeking ghost. scope in, collect, repeat. If you do a cycle & it's not res pawned get, read something, pick up your phone for a second. Or go to Mothyards. It's pretty easy. every person I know, including me for all 3 swords, got it right around 150 of each.
