Sword drops are beyond rare
two days now of farming spinmetal. Over 50 gathered for 1/10 rare items needed. Talk about rare indeed. I did one sword and it didnt take nearly this long to gather these items. Bungie, quit nerfing everything you can get your fingers on. Your taking the fun out of the game, and your doing it at a record pace. You guys probably don't even look at these threads anyway, so I'm just wasting my time here. But I don't know where else to vent this frustration.

Did the iron relic for the void exotic, wanted to slit my wrists after running round looking. I'm not doing any more exotic swords unless I can buy the spin metal for all 200 of my legendary marks. Hell I'd pay 400 marks and give a IOU for the other 200

135 Spinmetal, 158 Relic Iron. Did two of that step on a Titan. All you need is a sniper, ghost, sparrow, and some time.

I was with a friend who is a hunter. Theres a perk that shows all that shit on their radar so she just ran around the map with me in a circle showing me where the stuff was so i could pick it up. Give that a try

Took me staright 4 hours for void edge relic iron quest. As everyone else has stated. Try to use a ghost (i didnt) and dont bother with loot chests. Its only the actual harvest spots. Stick to 1 area you know well, and occasionally leave to check the ext area while you wait for more to spawn in the first

That's not a good ratio A few tips Chest don't count carry ghost withe sensor perk. Use sniper scope to find far away spawns Go in and out of loading areas to help push respawn times.

Seems to be about 1 in 10 or so give the one you are looking for. Personally I would say that the Moon was the quickest, then Mars and Earth the longest. Having the right ghost and the hunter with stuff showing on the radar helps. Also I noticed if I looked down the sights of my scout rifle any of the circles added by the ghost showed up even if behind you (showing at the edge of the screen so you need to spin round to see exactly where) but just looking normally only the circles in front of you showed on screen.

Spinmetal took the longest for me. (I did all 3) Pro tip - after you grab the spinmetal (or helium fil or relic iron) leave the area on your sparrow and quickly return. You should be able to get it at least one more time. I got one 5 times in the Forgotten shores on the path that leads to where you go for the omnigul strike.

3 RepliesI'm in the same boat as you brother. Been grinding Relic Iron looking for crystals. On night one after about ten I finally found 1 crystal. Got bored and moved on. On day 2 went to Mars and after another 10 or so more found my second crystal. Now I don't know if this theory will hold any water but I'm beginning to think that if I go to Mars once a day to grind for the crystal then it might drop a little quicker than trying to find multiple crystals in a single session. Kinda falls in line with Bungie's M.O. in TtK. Take the Argonach Rune as a example.

Did all three in one week. Here is a good tip go to rocketyard for spin metal put on ghost. After picking so many go to orbit and rinse and repeat.

I just spent the last hour running an old farming rout on the moon like it was vanilla all over again. In about 45 minutes I got one solar flare. It's incredibly boring.

Farming on Phobos, drunk, whilst driving backwards on your sparrow, with your eyes closed? I did it yesterday for my Solar Sword and by the time I'd hit 160 helium filaments, I had all 10 soliton flares. It's easier with a nightstalker, with keen scout + a ghost that marks spinmetal for you. Obviously you can get the ghost for any class though.
