Iron Banner's 1st day impressions
So, I've played in every IB since the very first one and this is the only time I will not be able to experience it on the 1st day because of my recently changed work hours so I just wanted to get everyone else's impressions for the 1st day. What's the lag like? What are some of the best rewards you've got? How is the match-making(if playing solo)? Any crazy stories or exciting matches? Any cheaters? Whatever info or stories you guys wanna share cuz like I said.....I'm missing the 1st day but just wanna read some stories from you Guardians.Bad or good, doesn't matter

5 RepliesTook me and my Tlaloc a few matches to get in the swing of it. Go in Solo - matchmaking doesn't seem to be much different but then again wasn't taking too much notice. No rewards as of yet but only 5-6 games in

If gear was equal to raid gear then I would go for it but it's not.

My experience was horrendous yesterday, didn't enjoy it. I love hammer of sol, but me and my team mates just got obliterated by that yesterday, along with pulse rifles. Worst thing is the rewards just aren't worth the grind, so I'm going to stick with PVE for a while until the rewards become a bit more desirable.

When you go against a fire team of 6, the lag is unbearable , its like each one of them is from each part of the world -_-

best rewards I got were motes of light and a 280 chest. There are still unkillable/lag-switchers/wallmart dialup in there that Bungie seem to do nothing about. Top 3 players on the winning team are still players with the worst connections. I report every player i find to be consistently unkillable but nothing seems to be done, ever. I just get matched in with more of them. Its not my connection. meat is still cheat / lag = win 100% of the time with no repercussions

Honestly can't tell you. I either lag out half way in the match or half to worry about lagging out, so I'm not even paying attention to the match. So. . .I'll get back to you in that. . .

It's too bad you'll have to raid to get the most out of ib. Almost all on my friend list either work nights and raid morning/day or doesn't have a work at all. And most of these unemployed guys I can't stand. So no 300+ for me. Still putting up decent numbers exept for those matches you get sniped from half across the map by shotguns again and again and again.. and then the rage. Will probably get the pulse rifle on one character and then stop playing ib.

3 RepliesLag isn't nearly as bad as what I am accustomed to. This is a positive. One thing that genuinely sucks is that light level is far more noticeable. For example, my Titan at ♢295 cannot OHKO a ♢300+ opponent with a Shoulder Charge. I'm sure this is awesome for the guys that are running almost full raid gear sets, but for the rest of us this kind of sucks dicks. I can only imagine what the guys that came in at a much lower light level after just hitting level 40 are going through. Drops are pretty terrible right now. I did get the IB titan mark, which was cool since it dropped for me a full rank below what I could have bought it at. Most of the other drops consist of low-end blues and miscellaneous garbage, occasionally giving me strange coins or motes of light. Matchmaking is as shittastic as ever, constantly throwing me into losing games against fully stacked fireteams even though I am running lone wolf or occasionally with a group of one or two. The mercy rule is not in effect for Iron Banner as I've personally landed in some ridiculously terrible games only to never have it kick on... like, a 12,000+ against 5,000ish, with me stuck on the shit end of the stick, landing in someone's spot after they quit.

The next worthless pile of meat that I see with a Conspiracy Theory equipped is getting teabagged so hard they'll grow into a plant come spring. This PvP community is wrought with 12-year-old rectal cancer patients.

Previous Iron Banners I use to get at least 2-3 legendary drops (got double drops at times). I've seen 1 guy lagging all over the map. Best thingk so far? I've not once been killed by Last Word (or Thorn)...

Really laggy, I still don't know new maps been playing to much pve, been killed from every direction not knowing where to be. The A B C control icons on left of screen still annoy me too.haha

shotgun is still my favourite weapon and warlock melee - no lag for me - drops are poor, not as many legendaries and then they are only engrams so you get screwed by cryptarch. Weapon most prominent in killing me was red death and variety of shotguns. Not been hit by thorn once. seems easier as I came top and won 2 games (never done that with warlock before). - Most people's light level is mid-290's.

Normal crucible drops, did get the IB Hunter cloak though. Lag wasn't bad, only usually one or two specific people in a game that had horrible connection. A lot of fun games with cool moments here and there.

Terrible lag literally everyone in red bar, zero drops, person top got the exact same reward as the guy in last 3 times. It's dumb
