Iron Banner's 1st day impressions
So, I've played in every IB since the very first one and this is the only time I will not be able to experience it on the 1st day because of my recently changed work hours so I just wanted to get everyone else's impressions for the 1st day. What's the lag like? What are some of the best rewards you've got? How is the match-making(if playing solo)? Any crazy stories or exciting matches? Any cheaters? Whatever info or stories you guys wanna share cuz like I said.....I'm missing the 1st day but just wanna read some stories from you Guardians.Bad or good, doesn't matter

4 RepliesPlayed a few games this morning. The usual drop behind - half your team leaves (the joys of solo). But on the whole good. Was worried about going in at 296 light but managed to hold my own most of the time so light level not too big of a deal imo

1 ReplyI don't see the point in getting involved with it. The weapons and armor suck and they are 280 light. If the gear was at least 300 light, I would play just to use it to infuse my stuff. I cap out on legendary marks easy enough and I don't even play crucible really except for marks and quests.

1 ReplyGod damn lag is terrible, players running through my trip mine grenades, taking shotguns to the chest point blank no damage, then I throw a trip mine, and I die, about 30 seconds after coming back in I hear, "triple kill" accompanied by a postmortem medal, 30 seconds later...! I was like, what the fvck did that, lol...! Some matches are fine, some are complete garbage...!

SO finally got a chance to play and man,, I can see what everyone's gripes are about. This IB, for me at least, is the most frustrating so far. It's fun and I enjoy it but it's stressing me out. Oh well, better luck tomorrow I guess

If you have a team of six that's halfway decent, you'll be fine. If you're a random, you won't get host and lag behind close to a whole seconds. Also you'll hear sunbreakers popping everywhere and red deaths shooting. Iron banner is good training for trials though. Figuring out how to counter sunbreakers and red death is tough work

(A few too many pulse rifles if anything) It went tits up when i joined a game with less than 60 seconds remaining. The other team was dominating. Already had supers. After my first death i was respawned into an aftermath of FOH. I managed 2 kills and 4 deaths before the end. Thats when i noticed us randoms were playing against a full fireteam. The next game, to my surpprise, was against the SAME team again. After a heavy loss i left. Joined a new team at the end of their game. I felt a pattern emerging. Funnily enough in 1 of my last few games... i entered a room with red on my radar. I heard a very distinctive sound as my screen went green. Thats right.... someone was using a year 1 Thorn. I laughed... pulled out my shotty and blew his ass away. Then gave him my cut throat emote for good measure!

1 ReplyI goofed before bed a little bit. First impressions is that it really isn't that great. Doesn't feel balanced, plus the increased traffic hasn't exactly had a positive impact. I know it's not my internet, so don't bother. The guns being used aren't really any different. Still a lot of TLW, hawkmoon, and shotguns. When it comes to the people, I had a few isolated incident of spawn killing. I would spawn, along with a few teammates, and as soon as we drop back in they are waiting. Usually with a shotgun. I have not even a full second before I'm downed. It happened in series of 3 deaths approximately before they were broken from the spawns.

Really bad lag. The matchmaking still sucks. People quit games and I'm thrown into a game that has no chance of saving. HoS titans everywhere. Conspiracy theory shotguns everywhere along with red death and the vanguard pulse rifle.
