I normally don't take issue with many of the adjustments made, however this is a bit unnecessary.
Weapons parts are scarce as hell right now; allow me to explain why.
Back in pre HoW Destiny, we all had a steady supply of weapon parts. I myself had over a thousand.
Then HoW dropped along with the lovely ability to reroll perks on weapons. Many of us put hundreds if not THOUSANDS (yo) of weapon parts into getting that perfect roll we wanted on our favorite guns. ALL of which have been nerfed or made obsolete.
Fine. I get it. New year new gear. Cool.
But we are still left with a deficit of materials we all apparently wasted. All of those motes and weapons parts gone with nothing to show for it. Now, with infusion, I struggle to keep any more than 50 at one time.

Almost makes it look like you guys had this planned all along to cushion play time.... TO PERPETUATE THE GRIND.
tinfoil hats off
I digress... this change is totally uncalled for. I doubt there is anyone who would disagree.
Edit: So, allegedly, the gunsmith will soon sell weapon parts for glimmer. Good news!
Let's just hope he doesn't adopt a certain silvery currency instead...

Pre HoW over 4K WP's. Currently sitting at 1,246, just to give an idea of how they are zapping our built up reserves on weapon parts, coins, motes.

5 RepliesEdited by Jake cant shoot: 10/15/2015 1:51:20 AMHouse of wolves was intended to drain the player base of their resources. Ttk continues that with infusion. Now bungie introduces tess. Can you guess what's next?

1 Replybungie needs to implement purchasing weapon parts from the gunsmith, it is total bullshit to require an item in the game that necessitates dismantling other items to acquire. especially since bungie has stated many times destiny is not a mmo, well if it isn't a mmo then put the -blam!-ing weapon parts for sale and stop forcing players to grind for bullshit! i think many people would agree but i play this game for fun, i dont need added incentive to play destiny in order to get items so i can break them to get materials i need to upgrade the items i like.

What tinfoil hats? I knew something like this was going to happen once I heard that one of the developers himself said it wasn't complete, and they just milked us. I think his name was... Luke Smith or something like that? Sorry, not good with names.
-
Spinfoil* hats, tin is too rare to be wasted on mere hats.

3 RepliesPre HoW I had about 4000 weapon parts. They went quick. I've burned through several hundred since TTK, my issue is not amount of engrams that drop but the spread. I get 90% armor engrams drop and 10% weapon engrams drop. Not sure how the balance works for that but when I run like 5 heroics and I get one weapon engram and like 13 armor engrams its a little ridiculous.
-
5 RepliesAgreed. These days i glimmer farm to buy exotics from kiosk to dismantle them. 2500 glimmer for 3-5 weapon parts. Its slow and frustrating and expensive. If they would sell weapon parts for wormspore... I'd be totally set! I wish they would set up a system to trade all the planet materials and armor parts and weapon parts for each other. Charge 50 glimmer per exchange but allow exchanges of 10 at a time.
-
Well they saw that I almost was able to keep 25-30 at a time, almost. They thought that was 25-30 too many. They also increased the number of weapon engrams that turn to motes and coins. Again!
-
Exotic shards are killin me too

2 RepliesAccording to your post weapon parts are scarce because of scrubs reforging until they were broke.

2 RepliesWhy doesn't the gun smith sell parts?
-
1 ReplyGo run Court of Oryx for an hour and you'll have 50 weapons to dismantle. Strikes also guarantee 2-3 drops per instance. Blue engrams drop from Bounties too. Are you even playing the game?
-
What could you possibly need so many weapon parts for?? I have more than enough, I'd say a steady amount of 100+ and I even use them on faction rep half the time just to finish up the rank when it's close...
-
2 RepliesI'm glad I never spent any resources on reforging considering that any perks I reforged to get could be removed by Bungle whenever they like.
-
1 ReplyI deleted 3500 weapons parts by mistake in one swoop and now struggle like hell.
-
Yeah i noticed the lack of weapon parts yesterday. Even after strikes i didnt receive not 1 trash weapon to dismantle. Smh bungie may be doing this because of farming and the agnoroch rune. Thanks hobo tw1tch.
-
2 RepliesIdk i have About 1800 weapon parts left. Don't ask me how. Anyway engrams drop way more so in theory you should be getting more weaponparts.
-
Indeed.... day 1 player here and I always loved to collect shit and re-roll guns in HoW... I have maybe 30 parts at the moment... why they nerf that is beyond me.
-
3 Replies*Tinfoil hat on* They're going to sell them to us for silver. *Tinfoil hat off*
-
While I can't remember the last time I dropped below 1500 weapon parts, I do agree that the nerf was unnecessary. I can't see any other reason to do it than to extend the grind.
-
I was upgrading my new Dealbreaker earlier and when I went to hit X and use another Mote, my Inventory decided to change where it was placed and instead I ended up deleting my Armor Materials. I read the item quickly and swore I took my finger off soon enough, but it deleted my shit and now I'm basically doomed as far as upgrading goes now. People are saying they might sell Eververse stuff to compensate for these changes but the moment they do that Destiny will ripperoni.
-
Go to the refund screen at Tess's and read the bottom line. Thats why everythings been reduced. It says " Consumables non refundable" lol so obviously theres more to come.... its in the writing already
-
1 ReplyMy stash of weapon parts is starting to grow, considering I find most of the year 2 guns I get are crap there really is no reason to keep them so I dismantle
-
I had 500 weapon parts pre ttk, and now have 2
