Black Spindle the new raid "Gjallahorn"?
Already in the raid forums you may have noticed in raid groups saying "must have black spindle" as a requirement. Could we be looking a potential throwback to Crotas End where not having the jellyhorn meant being s.o.l? Spindle the new Gjallahorn? You tell us!

My raid loadout per section. Beggining of raid through Totems: Righteous VIII(auto rifle) Defiance of Yasmin(sniper) Raze-Lighter(exotic sword) War priest through Golgoroth: Righteous VIII Black Spindle The Variable( FWC Machine gun) Death singers checkpoint (I'm in the middle running support): Touch of Malice Defiance of Yasmin The Smolder rocket launcher Oryx Himself (once again, I'm running support in the middle): Hung Jury scout rifle Defiance of Yasmin Raze Lighter(this thing destroys the knights and the ogres) This is why I love this raid. There's so much loadout variety, a lot of weapons to choose from. Yes, Black Spindle is awesome, but any other sniper would work just as good. The Touch of Malice is my go to weapon for the Deathsingers, but other than that I don't use it.

1 Replyblack spindle is no doubt the best for golgoroth and warpriest. can be used for sisters but Touch of Malice is the best for oryx, pretty sure you can make up for one person not shooting oryx

Nah someone did a damage test based on the damage numbers from the footage we saw of the sleeper simulant pre-release and it out damaged a pre-nerf gjallarhorn, sleeper simulant will be the new gjally.

It's a really good sniper, I have to agree there, but not necessary. Just like I always held the position that gjallahorn was not necessary for Crota, neither is the spindle. Weapons like these make things go a little faster yes, but they aren't 100% needed. I did considerable damage on golgoroth with my 1000yard stare. Only two people on our team had the spindle and only one shot golgoroth and we still beat him fairly easily. So nope you don't actually NEED it.

2 RepliesBy far the best raid weapon. The bosses are all easy to continuously crit... Going through 24 shots without reloading on warpreist= death. We had 3 black spindles and got warpreist down to 10% in 2 turns.

If anything it's ToM. Infinite bonus damage on sisters and oryx in the aura

If so then people are stupid. Our clan is clearing the raid pretty regularly now and very few of us have spindle. Defeating the raid is about timing, communication and teamwork, not what sniper you are wielding.

No I would rather run a exotic primary I have the black spindle it kinda hard to hit crits in daughters and oryx does not have a crit so... The gun is good but there's better in this world

9 RepliesAre people without Black Spindle the ones bashing it? It has a higher impact then 1000 yard stare and 3 precision hits auto reloads for you which not hard since the bosses dont move. But of course you want ToM for daughters and Oryx. Not saying you guys are wrong. I just don't see how 1000 yard stare is better for the bosses?

Black spindle for -blam!-ing what!?! That's the problem people and there dumb requirements I have 310 spindle and don't use it. It fires to slow. And I always have the top damage on golgeroth . People need to stop with these specific requirements
