Black Spindle the new raid "Gjallahorn"?
Already in the raid forums you may have noticed in raid groups saying "must have black spindle" as a requirement. Could we be looking a potential throwback to Crotas End where not having the jellyhorn meant being s.o.l? Spindle the new Gjallahorn? You tell us!

Up until Oryx, yes. After that use another high impact sniper, or Touch of Malice. I use ToM on Daughters and Oryx, with 1000 yard stare.

Any raid group setting anything other than a minimum light level is a group you will want to avoid... until Hard Mode that is...

Any high impact sniper is fine. Though from my own experience the spindle's DPS is hard to beat. I have a slight theory that it's more about being a dedicated player and having the ability to attain it than just having it for some people. It's kind of a hard mission to carry someone through. But really it's just lazy kids that want an easy clear.

Possibly. The gun is overall a dps machine on bosses.

1 ReplyWith the difficulty of obtaining the Black Spindle it can indicate of how coordinated you are in a team. Also shows your effectiveness in you execution. So not only is white nail great for dps, but it's a great indicator to recruit someone for a raid.

I think its more for the fact if your good enough to get it, your good enough to do the raid.

Black spindle is great up until oryx, but they are all the easy parts. If oryx could take precision I might say yes

Personally, I use legendary. I've beaten the raid using neither spindle nor malice as everyone is "requiring" If you passed up the offer of 1000YS from the mission and you don't want to use Hunter for stillpiercer and you haven't received a high impact rng drop, order the eirene sniper from the gunsmith.

Golgoroth and war priest, it works well, not needed though. Everyone should have a high impact sniper though, no excuses

ToM AND Spindle will be the requirements. And 305+ of course. :-) But now that all of my normal raid group has both, the boss fights will be sooo much easier! Needed...No....much easier with....Yes So I get it.

No. The black spindle's only purpose is infusion material. At least for me it is. Good gun for specific situations but definitely not a necessity.

3 RepliesNot even close. 1000 yard stare all day. Rather run my ToM for much of the raid than waste the exotic on slow as hell firing spindle.
