Do you think bungie should change the level cap to 40 for non taken king players?
In my opinion it's a bit unfair that guardians that have been here since year 1 without the taken king have been "left in the dust" . I also think it will be a good change because non taken king players can level up and get ready for when they buy the dlc.

people aren't ENTITLED to anything just for being here since year 1. lvl 40 is expansion content. you want expansion content? you buy it. if not, continue enjoying what you've already paid for.

What would players do at level 40? They can still get gear and stuff from the vault crota's end and PoE. Millions of people were happy with that.

There's no point though. What's the point of being level 40 when the content you can play only goes up to 34? Assuming of course that you got both DLC's. Getting ready for when you buy the DLC makes no sense since, assuming you're already 34, the beginning missions in TTK start at 25. This gives you plenty of time to get the remaining 6 levels.

We are in year 2 now. If you want to be apart of year 2, then buy the DLC.

You've never been able to get max level without the latest DLC. I don't see why that would change now.

If you still play the game in the garbage status that it was and you still enjoy it, spend the $40. The taken King is a lot more enjoyable.

If you like the game that much just cough up the 40 bucks. I personally don't think ttk was worth 40 bucks. We got new weapons. They made old ones usless. We got 3 strikes they took 3 out of rotation. We got raid. Other 3 useless again. We got 30 percent more stuff. They took out 50 percent. Dreadnought is not worth 20 bucks. Sorry. Bungie better have some free shit in the near future or everyone is going to get bored quick. Again. Eventually people will just quit coming back.

1 ReplyI don't see any issue with instituting a split system. No, non-TTK players should not have access to TTK content (Heroic and Nightfall as they exist now), but why can't there be a lvl 20 or 30 version that drops Y1 gear? This way, non-TTK have meaningful activities, there is a way to acquire Y1 Exotics for all players without purchasing the overpriced Legacy Engrams, and even TTK players with low-level characters have a meaningful experience beyond re-grinding story missions.
