Xur ruins Destiny
3 armour pieces and a helmet engram.
I have 390 strange coins so i now have 6 new helmets.
Why Bungie? Why not make us actually play for our rewards?
Don't tell me to play my own game and not purchase from Xur if it bothers me because realistically why would I put myself at a disadvantage?
TTK is AMAZING.. I just thought the Xur update was an exotic weapon or engram only.. But oh well. This is a casuals game.
Rant over, my Titan got a Taikonaut... Amazing helmet.

1 ReplyYear one players had to grind for those strange coins. Most ran three characters every week. They earned this. You realize they just made all those weapons from the past year into trash right? The least they can do is let those players cheese to get back what they lost. Noobs that just got the game aren't gonna be able to cheese like this. Bungie will probably patch the three coins cheese and change Xur's inventory. Chill.

Because of Xur today, many players will be ready to attempt King's Fall, which I find to be great. I'd rather have a reliable source for leveling up, at least for the moment (Xur), then be at the mercy of a game where, quite literally, every other reward besides those obtained from Vendors is RnG based. Granted, the RnG has improved slightly over the past year, but there's only so many damn Light Beyond Nemesis' one can take from an Engram before giving up. Not only that, but TTK has introduced a slew of more quest-related Exotic weapons (Chaperone, Boolean Gemini, Sleeper Simulant, Banshee's class specific Exotics, etc.), so it's not like Xur is going to sell every single piece of Exotic gear from TTK. So we technically have more rewards to [i]actually earn[/i] by actually playing the game. And I'm going to assume that those of us who aren't into the whole "collect every Exotic" thing only go to Xur for the things we absolutely need or want, that we can't seem to obtain from RnG. I know that the only Exotics I'll be buying from Xur in TTK will be the new Hunter helmet and the Zhalo. Everything else I can reliably earn, particularly the Boolean Gemini. I don't mind Xur, because he's the most reliable way to obtain Exotic armor, and in some cases Exotic weapons, even though his wares are also RnG. These are just my two cents.

1 ReplyI have about the same amount of strange coins saved up and am excited to get home from work and xurn as many new helmets as I can!!! I'm sure I will get some duplicates but those will just be exotic shards for upgrading my year 1 weapons to year 2 versions! After I splurge everything next week I will have to be more picky again, but today I shall enjoy xursday...

4 RepliesI agree, they did a nice job addressing issues with ttk. But our instant gratification society has to have everything immediately. I would prefer if you could only get one engram per account per week. Would make it more interesting. Would just need to do away with the possibility of getting duplicates.

Would be cool if they made Xur spawn in random places for short amounts of time. Like maybe somewhere at the end of mission or quest or something or even somewhere in the wild.
