I only get to play a couple times a week for long sessions. Mostly come on in the am for an hour or two before I head in to work . I work full-time so having xur around deff helps me a ton or I would literally never get to see a lot of the awesome loot ingame.

I even gave him a legitimate counter argument and he had nothing to say, yet anyone who makes a childish comment gets a childish response from him. Let's take a look at Xûr and his purpose in this game. He is a special vendor; nothing more, nothing less. He sells gear and weaponry that can be acquired through normal gameplay. The system everything is based on is RNG. With that being said, it is as if I went out to buy thousands of lottery tickets and get no prize. Then someone comes along, buys one ticket and wins. What does that prove? They had better RNG. Could I have gone out and worked to get that amount of prize money? Yes. Did I succeed? No. Therefore, I can now go to a vendor and buy increased chances at getting said-money. Bungie has placed special currency into the game for a special vendor that is not mandatory to use. The only thing he sells that cannot be acquired through gameplay is aesthetic sparrow upgrades that change the color of the exhaust and add slight speed increases. Yet, a player can venture into either the Vault of Glass or Crota's End and get a sparrow that has more speed. Now the OP cries about Xûr "ruining the game" yet immediately states he enjoys the new piece of gear he "acquired" from the "game-ruining-special-not necessary-vendor." But that's not all: he claims others who use this special vendor are "casuals." This is a game trying to cater to multiple archetypal players with different reasons and motives to play. Some want to rush through everything, some are collectors, some are exclusive PVP, some are exclusive PVE. These are but a few examples. Now anyone of these "players" plays the game, farms for special currency, goes to vendor to buy something that the in-game lottery has failed to give them, and buys gear and is happy. But that person is a causal. His "customer review," which he proudly taunts, is grossly biased with subjective assumptions. He prefers playing a game with no special vendor. Did it cross his mind that other players want special vendors, who feel "rewarded" for spending a lot of time gathering in-game special currency to buy what they want? I don't think so. In summary, Cozmo, you proved that those with the loudest voice (which does not necessarily translate to the most intelligent) will influence future game development. With that logic, I will start SCREAMING! TO ALL "XÛRNERS," STAND PROUD THAT BUNGIE INCLUDED A METHOD TO HELP EASE THE PAIN FOR HAVING NO LUCK WITH THE RNG-LOTTERY! I HAVE BOUGHT THINGS FROM XÛR AND HAVE BEEN LUCKY WITH RNG. I PRAY YOU ALL GET WHAT YOU WANT, NO MATTER THE METHODS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO YOU IN THE GAME, AS DESIGNED BY THE GAME DEVELOPERS. You actually did play to get that stuff. Where do you think you got the strange coins from, to buy that stuff? Xur does not ruin the game, all he does is make the game a bit more fair since he gives everyone a chance to get exotics, since not everyone is lucky with rng. Only people who want to be greedy or be a special snowflake thinks Xur ruins the game, because they want keep their eliete status, because they got something others don't. Remember you actually have to do things to get strange coins.

I've never really had an issue with Xur or people that used him (which included myself), but I think his time should come to a close. I'm not one of those [i]earn, don't Xurn[/i] people, but you have to admit, Xur robs you of that exited moment of getting an exotic drop in the wild. When people got the Gally in the wild, it was an epic moment for them. Did people who bought it from Xur have that same epic moment? Hell no. Again, I couldn't care less if you bought one, I'm just saying, you missed out on an experience.

I agree. If they just removed him, the game would seem to have a lot more content, and not everyone would be using the same exotic.

I was angry too. Then I realized exotics are no longer what they used to be. Lackluster perks with max 290 base light. Not so great.

This is a casual's game though. I feel sorry for the people who are hardcore players. There's better uses of your time.

I'm glad they're going to lower the drop rates. It's a little too easy right now. For now, I'm digging my new collection of insanely -blam!-ing good gear! I still haven't found any weapons, but I have 10 ToC left and have plenty of time to get more. Sure, I feel a little dirty, but I'll get over it.
