I just haven't seen too many threads dedicated to the new Nightstalker subclass. How do our seasoned hunters like it? What kinds of perk combinations seem to be most effective? What kind of play styles are coming from it? Likes/dislikes...etc
Personally I'm only half-way through the skill tree but I'm liking it so far.

1 ReplyIt's my favorite sub-class so far. Love the smoke bomb more than anything. I never melee, so it's nice to have my Strength actually matter.

I mained a warlock until I tried out the nightstalker. Best class for pve hands down I love it so far.

7 RepliesAnyone else notice the fluctuation in the duration of Shadowshot? In my observations, I've noticed that tethering an add with Black Hole when by themself only allows for the tether to last for what feels like 15 seconds. On the other hand, tethering a group allows for tethers to last much longer if an add is killed periodically. I believe that Blood Bound essentially has the same effect but is still decreased due to not having an increased duration perk. What about you other Guardians? Anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?
Sorry for sounding all sciencey. That's what college does to you. >_<
As a main-warlock I love having a night stalker in my fire team. They are so much more supportive than most other classes so for once it's nice to have someone who's generally intelligent enough to deal damage at range and navigate invisibly.

Edited by RapturousRex: 9/28/2015 8:21:08 PMI'm enjoying it for PvE. Still getting the hang of it. Havn't used it in PVP because I've got that daft arc grenade mission. 20 kills, think I've done 7. Since the nerf (and the fact I'm thinking about it rather than just doing it) I'm struggling with them. I do like to patrol as a Nightstalker with No Land Beyond every now and then. Gives me a good huntery feel. Add in a side arm and it feels pretty immersive. Now to just get the sword...

I have enjoyed this new subclass better than I thought I would. Before TTK i was thinking how weak looking it was compared to the other 2 subs. But now I know it is very strong when used properly.

While I main warlock, I gotta say that I like the skills in the new Hunter subclass. I can see lots of fun opportunities with some Hunter builds here.
-
3 RepliesNightstalker is the most essential subclass. End of story. It's borderline useless in PvP so don't try. But in a raid.. it is essential to have atleast 1 or 2.

Black hole in a high traffic hallway = profit

3 shots. Kinda use the like a golden gun. I use the poison grenades perk to weaken others then wall grenade. If you have three in crucible it's a three kill at the least. Works well on control. Like it alot. A true support class.

Go to The Undying Mind strike. Equip crest of alpha lupi and but on light of the pack and bloodbound. You'll be spitting orbs like a machine. My best is about 120 orbs
-
1 ReplyBlood bound and light of the pack

I just wish killing tethered enemies counted as ability kills instead of only the ones you hit with the actual arrow.

I love my nightstalker

Nightstalker rules. And we're done here :D

2 RepliesExotic arc sword, the hunter helmet that can make orbs drop from heavy kills, blood bound, and the tethered enemies drop orbs perk? Dude, don't get my love started for this class since they ruined orbs. This class is arguably a teams biggest asset to make orbs to get everyone's supers up.

5 RepliesEdited by Nashtalia: 9/28/2015 6:26:20 PMthat moment i see a burning titan be in confusion as he/she longer has their super no longer active after being hit with my arrow. :) 'black hole' if your going fer a pvp long range set up. im not interested in the triple shots in one shot.
-
3 RepliesExtended tether with additional orbs plus Telesto. 10-12 orbs created without a doubt.
-
i feel that its a great addition to destiny... its more of a support class rather than DPS class... since iv always been the support type, it love my nightstalker.
-
I love it. Invisibility grenade. Shadestep, massive Orb generation, my fireteam uses my arrow and kills armies.
-
Edited by High Charity: 9/28/2015 6:41:44 PMI love it. I play mostly PvE, and having a good super for it that can make a stupid amount of orbs is great. Shadowstep could use a buff though, its kind of useless.
-
I love skill shots. Its very fun in pvp it might just be my favorite.
-
One word: Multikills
-
My favorite thing to do: jump, activate super, switch to rocket launcher in mid-air and wipe a whole mob in one shot. Looks epic.
