To all the people who say "im not spending 40 dollars" and all the other crap you whine about, dont lie. I know youll be buying it, and you also know in your tiny brain that you'll buy it as well. However if the collective "you" can give me 5 GREAT reasons why not to buy the ttk, i will respect your decision in doing so.

31 RepliesEdited by matt69870: 9/1/2015 2:08:13 AM5 reasons? Sure. 1. Bungie are never transparent. How long did it take for our voices to be heard about major issues with the game like vault space or the heavy ammo loss bug? So much time went by before our concerns were even acknowledged, let alone fixed. I want to support a company that actually values customer feedback and doesn't take almost a year to fix something that's been since launch. 2. I'm tired of replaying the same content. TTK will fix that for about a week then it will become stale once more. Bungie will try to prolong the DLC's life as they did in HoW by releasing ONE new bounty target each week. These are menial tasks that take no more than a couple of minutes and there is no incentive whatsoever to complete it subsequent times. 3. Destiny takes my time and effort and pisses all over it. Again and again. I have put in serious work to obtain some rare weapons like the Fatebringer, Vex Mythoclast, Gjallarhorn etc. After a VERY VERY long journey I can finally say my exotic collection is complete. Soon after comes news that most weapons will be left behind at year 1 ATK values. Bungie takes the fruits of my labor, and makes them worthless. Soon they will be nothing but memories and a visual representation of time wasted. 4. Little to no reward. Ever. Every activity I play no matter what it is one thing is always certain, the reward will be shit. Either some shards to toss onto the pile of 600+, some coins for the things I never want to buy from Xur, etheric light (a material that shouldn't yet exist) Weapons made worthless > new super rare material (EL) to grind for to upgrade weapons > weapons made worthless again. You got a legendary weapon? Congrats. You've been fooled into thinking you got something half decent. In reality you got two shards gift wrapped. 5. Pushing our boundaries as gamers This is the big one, it's pretty much all the points tied into one. Gaming companies have been getting worse over the past few years. There is a trend becoming increasingly popular. Essentially we are to pay more money for a lesser product. Things that should come on the disk are purposely withheld to sell to you at a later date, prices for those things are a lot higher than they should be. Why do you think they lowered it? Because they knew it was too high and were simply testing the waters to see how much they can get from our wallets. I'm not going to support it and I encourage any other serious gamer to do the same. It's only going to get worse unless we do something about it and believe me, as the consumers we have all the power in the world. Still gonna buy Taken King? Sweet, go ahead and I hope you enjoy it. These are my own reasons and just an opinion. I am open for discussion.

2 RepliesI'm not a child like most who choose to post topics regarding them not purchasing TTK; as if it's important to the rest that they'll no longer be with destiny. However, I am choosing to not continue with destiny, and here are my reasons. 1. The progression system. Bungie seems to have little to no idea what they are doing here. TDB comes out, exotics upgrades must be purchased and re-leveled for who knows what reason. Old gear is no longer relevant. HoW comes out, oh by the way, I guess we'll now allow you to upgrade that old gear that you've since deleted. TTK is coming out, and ascension, which the community loved, is being stripped away from us, and yet a whole new leveling system is being implemented. Where is the consistency. 2. Extremely repetitive nature. I've booked 1500 hours in this game, and while I had fun through most of it, I can safely say a lot of it was simply because I was on a mission to aqcuire all of the dead orbit shaders (I accomplished this, by the way). Once end game activities have been completed, there is nothing but a couple of the same bounties over and over again. Yes this appears to be changing with quests, but I seriously doubt quests will last long enough to keep you satisfied. 3. Price. Yes I have a job, yes I can easily afford $40 for a game. I do not feel, however, that it is a fair price, nor do I personally feel like I should keep putting money into this series when I could be trying out all new games. 4. Bungie making us play their way. Weapon balancing not working whatsoever, and Crucible updates specifically which more or less force us to play the game their way. Going along the lines of reason 1, I do not agree with our inability to look the way we want. TDB had everyone wearing 3 pieces of crota gear and one exotic. It seems they are going back to this with TTK. Even if they are more options in TTK, the fact that we can't bring legendary armor forward is ridiculous in my mind. 5. The community. Not the biggest reason for leaving, however I genuinely find this community to be toxic and immature. Maybe it's like this with most FPS games, I don't know. Crucible tea bagging is ridiculous. Please grow up kids, honestly. Forum posts as well are ridiculous. Nothing but bait posts to get people angry, or rants which do not serve any benefit to the community. No actual threads are made which evoke real discussions about the game itself. So there you go. My five reasons for leaving destiny. I likely see myself in from time to time to play crucible with friends, but I'm no longer going to be purchasing DLCs. Hope this enlightened some. Hopefully those who read it can tell that this is my honest opinion on the state of things, and not done immature biased tantrum. Let me know what your thoughts or questions are.

1. Very expensive. I feel that the price does not justify what is being given. 2. No hard details on what the content is like, specifically the raid. 3. Probably not enough content to keep my interest. 4. Not enough incentives due to having most exotics. 5. Unlikely to provide captivating scenes or moments much like the house of wolves dlc. It mostly feels very forgetful for me some of those missions. This is just my opinion but I personally have found the previous dlc to be okay at points but lose there charm very quickly. I will be interested to see how the TTK goes when it does launch.

I'm just not buying it. Guaranteed. And if you think I'm full of it then you can inspect my account anytime you want after it launches. Having one of their employees make the statement that I'll "throw money at the screen" is pretentious. I'll spend money on other games and just keep playing the content that I have. To everyone buying it...I hope you all have fun and enjoy your experience! This is my personal belief and I will assuredly stick to it.

1 ReplyThere are 5 reasons right here 1- you put the dime in me pants 2- you put the dime in me pants 3- YOU put the DIME in me pants 4- you PUT the DIME in me PANTS 5- YOU PUT THE DIME IN ME PANTS!
-
I don't need five I only need one, if it was 40 dollars for everyone then I'd buy it. Charging one set of people 50% less than others is a piss take. One that I will not accept, so 'not buying TTK'.
-
Aaand shameless self bump
-
People that don't buy it don't buy it. Big deal if they don't, some may keep their word, some may not.
-
Whyyyyyy

3 RepliesWho cares what you buy, dumbass

I will probably end up getting TTK right before it comes out, but I've been holding back because of the $40 "expansion". I'll admit they burned my ass with TDB, and HOW, aside from Trials of Osiris. I wasn't really into pvp, aside from the banner. Now the only reason I've been playing is for ToO. If it's everything it's supposed to be I have no issues, but I will say this is my last hope for this game. If it flops like the last 3 games count me out. He'll even if it is a success, I may be out. I'm not going to be strung along by half asses DLC's.

You all sound like a bunch of cry baby 12 year olds...

>be me >say that I won't buy taken king >watches bungie stream >pre orders

17 Replies1 too much hype surrounding something we honestly don't have a reason to be so hyped about. 2. Been dissapointed three times by the same game in less than a year. 3. The community blindly following an buying into everything bungie does. How they can complain about Luke Smith saying we'd throw money at the screen, and then turning around and throwing money at the screen. 4. Weapons I've spent hours trying to roll perks I like and grinding strikes for a specific thing. Will soon be rendered nigh unusable in endgame activities. To the point where green level weapons will be better. This is frustrating. 5.yeah were getting new weapons, yeah they look cool, and whatnot But they all fire the same, sound the same, and don't feel very unique. There are a few archetypes that each weapon falls under and this is boring.
bonus round: the fact that we're losing some of our exotics, this game has a problem with diversity something that we can all agree on; the solution to this problem is to not make old good weapons useless but rather introduce more variety to the game
Whhhoooooo, this thread reeks something fierce.

Already spent my $ on the Halo 5 console m8.
-
How does it feel to be scammed out of you wallet? To be stupid enough to actually pay Bungie and Activision for a beta and only receive part of the full game now? And then pay them AGAIN for it.
-
Stop making these posts -.-' it's their choice not to buy it, and it's ours TO buy it. Its the same as forcing them all into sex. Just leave it.
-
40 $? For me is 40£ and i will buy it, so stop crying. Have a nice day
-
This attention whoring. I can see your pre-order if i squint enough. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
you're an idiot Tweagle! i'm not buying it as i don't see the value in it! I i choose to walk away why does it bother you? the game has become stagnant to me! rewards are non existent! , zero balance in classes and guns! no "true"" new content in pve (recycled meshes etc)! poor international pricing! people like yourself thinking you're above everyone else (elitist)! and finally 3 let downs since game release! is that enough
-
I won't be buying it, but that doesn't mean I have a tiny brain. Just like if you do buy it, that doesn't mean you are a little prick. Although I'm fairly sure you are.
-
I won't be buying, cause I live in a poor town with no jobs.
-
2 RepliesGood choice, and good for you
-
2 RepliesMaybe learn how to type before telling others they have a 'tiny brain'. Otherwise you look like a retard.
