No, I don't think it does. Fads are usually done by people who want to be popular. Atheism is the belief that a magical man that we can't see or hear is not the reason of our existence. Atheists have also been around for 150 years, and the earliest ones were incredibly unpopular and often considered mad. That kind of makes it the opposite of a fad.
