What is your opinion on this?
They announced no matchmaking so you will have to go in with a premade fireteam. This is the biggest reason so many people have not raided and is definitely a huge barrier.
Will you form a team and try ToO or is it just not for you?
Would like to hear from the casual players as we already know all the PVP addicts have a raging Gjallarboner for this.
Edit: DeeJ's suit too OP

45 RepliesIt's good. It will ban all the n00bs. I hate n00bs. F*cking srubs.
-
I rarely play with a fire team but I don't mind them making it no matchmaking because since there is no raid it'll give people more of an excuse to get together like there is one
-
I missed the stream, where can I see it?
-
Seriously who the -blam!- doesn't have 2 friends or can't go on the forums and find people. That's so annoying.
-
Gjallarboner! Hahaha! Awesome...
-
Lol That suit!! But seriously I'm not horrible by a long shot and I'm nervous about trials.

2 RepliesNot huge on PvP for Destiny but no stranger to competitive gaming from my past. This barrier needs to be broken simply by looking at the recruitment section and takin these steps. Find players interested in ToO and friend them. Set a time and day to play some regular crucible and get comfortable with them. Maybe try some IB together. Once comfortable with at least 2 other people tackle the ToO. Now you have created a dedicated Fireteam and essentially a clan to continue to grow and play with. Inspired by all the lack of matchmaker complainers. This is how it was done when teammates weren't given to you for the highest tier competition in a game. If you're not willing to do this then you really don't want it. Not directed at OP but the rest.

2 RepliesNo, I don't think it's for the hardcore, it's still kill/be killed, and have fun doing it. The main difference between this and reg. crucible is that you have to have a team. And in this case, that's the best thing since there is a track ofw/l and that can determine your loot. Yes, I will form a team. People I game with already know about the trials and we'll be ready.
-
At least now all the "Pro" PvP players can stop complaining when they killed by noob ransoms and start complaining when they get killed be decent teams. Also, now you can't blame your random noob team for why you lose.
-
I think most of the hardcore pvp players will have stopped playing by Sunday or at lest won't be hitting it as hard, i doubt it will be as bad as people are making out. Watch out for that final round tho
-
Yup guess that's something else I won't be trying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
That's the way it should be.

27 RepliesIt looks fun but I'm not sure why they are catering to the hardcore players (we all know this exactly what it's going to be!) when the majority of Destiny players are more casual than hardcore. They should have made 3 tiers: 1. ROOKIE - Only available to people with <=1.0 k/d - matchmaking available, can be fireteam or solo but no one on fireteam can have >1.0 k/d 2. NORMAL - Only available to people with <=2.0 k/d - matchmaking available, can be fireteam or solo but no one on fireteam can have >2.0 k/d 3. HARDCORE - Any k/d - no matchmaking If they implemented something like this then lower levels could play higher (and risk getting slaughtered) but can also choose to not play against all the tryhard clans if they don't want to. Hardcore players would more often get challenging matches with an occasional slaughterfest when a rookie team of lambs wander in ;)

Very good system you've thought of there nice one. How would you go about loot drops and Osiris armour tho no need to play hardcore of you can get it dropped in the higher tier version?
-
1 ReplyWhat is trials?? Is it like skirmish With premise teams??
-
26 RepliesYeah, although I do have many friends IRL (amazingly) I only have one friend that actually plays destiny, so I wish there was matchmaking.

Edited by Raymonator: 4/29/2015 9:14:19 PMIt isn't quite as hardcore as it may seem. Granted it will be tough to get the weapons but you only need to go 5-3 to get the armor. If you factor that in with the consumable to get a free win and excuse a loss you really don't need to be THAT great. Maybe it will take a couple tries but I think it's obtainable by most people. There will be plenty of PUG LFG groups to feast upon without getting railed by the top tier teams too often. I just worry that the great teams will be bored too quickly. If I saw this correctly once you obtain 8 wins you can buy both weapon AND armor? They will have that done by noon every Friday.
-
I barely play Crucible as is. Iron banner I play when I am bored so I doubt if I will ever play it.
-
This does look pretty hardcore PVP.....plus I agree though many do from Clans, Fireteams etc....this isn't WOW....I don't see this being very successful after the hype dies down......
-
Some one will make a site to pick up people that shows there stats no biggy
-
game mode seems to be a hardcore elimination. i like how it's competitive and all, i just am not sure it will attract a large number of players
-
No matchmaking doesn't bother me. The trials themselves didn't impress me though. The gear looks cool though, so I might play it.
-
People are complaining about no matchmaking for teammates, but do you really want someone afk, someone with no communication, or a quitter. Also you'd get a bunch of scrubs as teammates and all the smart people would make their own fireteam and wreck the rest of the community to easily get the wins necessary to get rewards.
-
2 RepliesPraise for no match making because there will always be that one time when you get paired up with Pvp nuubs
-
1 ReplyEdited by BoxMaker: 4/29/2015 8:52:41 PMWell it's definitely not casual.
unless if wrecking in crucible is a casual thing for you
You should have truth in PvP not gally
