He readies his graverobber and informs the huntress
D: We're gonna go through the scablands and into the giants pass. There will be heavy cabal and vex conflict in the scablands and the giants pass is a small fortress but we can just pass by and expect little resistance. Once into the valley of kings, we'll see a towering vex gate being guarded by 4 minotaurs, 2 hobs, and a hydra in a defensive position. We kill those and the gate activates and we go in. I've seen a dime a dozen go in and none return. But you've survived the Vault of Glass, I don't think there's much stopping you from getting in there. Sound good?

She nodded, Giving her sniper a longing look, ready to shred apart vex. "Not a problem at all" she commented, thrusting her sparrow forward towards coordinates.
-
As David travels along the sand he consults his ghost D: Ey' beachball, would you mind scanning that rifle of hers real quick, I'd like to know what exactly is her firearm made out of G: Not a problem. As the ghost scans the huntress' rifle, he floats back in awe G: That rifle has components of the same metal the vex are made of, and has a strange connection with time and anything related with the vex. The hunter surprised of the newfound information about his new partner. He mutters to himself D: This girl is the real deal. Beachball, mind keeping this a secret, I think Ikora has been a big influence on me lately and I don't want someone as strong as her to lose trust over a scan. G: I got your back. D: Beachball, you are the man.
-
She glided along the sand dunes, her cosmic cape billowing through the hard wind as she traveled. She felt a pair of eyes on her back, yet she ignored them, instead focusing on her newfound company. It was nice, having a companion for once instead of being a lone wolf hunting the forests of Ishtar Sink. She heard rumors about a gate from an old man at a tavern in the tower. She looked forward to finding some closure to her teams death..
-
The two hunters arrive at the Valley of Kings and David hasn't felt as excited as he is for a long time. He jumps off his sparrow and presents the huntress' goal. D: Alright! We're here, steps away from unknown vex territory guarded by giant killer robots that make the Terminator look like friendly neighbor. Enough of my pre-golden age references. Would you prefer winging it or devise a strategy to eliminate 7 robots?
-
The huntress stares down the targets, an enormous gate looming above them. Seven well placed keepers walking their pattern route, easily readable. She looks at him, unslinging her rifle , a cloak of invisibility masking her presence, pondering. "Do you mind? I need a little practice.."she asked, looking towards him for approval.
-
The hunter stands down and says in a glad tone D: Be my guest. You need to be at your sharpest. Practice never hurts.
-
Her lips lifted up into a grin, her heart hammering against her chest in excitement and anticipation. Leveling the weapon to her eye, she scoped In twice and readied the rifle, letting loose two fast shots. The rounds shredded through the first Minotaur, it's broken body falling to pieces to the ground. Swiftly she aimed for the next target, then then next, each falling victim to her precision. All that remained was the hydra, it's shield impenetrable from her position. Looking above she saw a ledge, which she swiftly and gracefully jumped onto, refocusing her scope. She had a perfect vantage point, three solid shots pierced through its glass eye and it too, fell into pieces. She hopped down next to the hunter, seemingly satisfied with her handiwork. "Well that was fun." She said with a laugh.
-
David marvels at the huntress' impeccable aiming. As he grew a little envious oh her skill behind a sniper rifle, he took out his notepad and wrote down her technique for future situations and self-teaching. D: Please excuse the notepad, I'm a terrible sniper. I never caught you name. Let me go first, my name's David. David gives the huntress his hand
-
Edited by Hayleesi: 4/29/2015 12:02:00 AMShe smiles behind her helmet, extending her hand and taking his. "Well David, a pleasure."her voice sincere" I'm Artemis.." She slings her rifle across her back and gestured toward the gate. "Shall we?.."
-
David, delighted now that he has a new partner and is about to face a new challenge, he says in a happy tone D: Let's go, Artemis. Nice name.
-
The huntress chuckled and leapt through the portal, feeling the time around her bend and morph. 'this is what it must feel, traveling like a vex' she mused inwardly, a new environment greeting her. Her red armor shifted into green and brown, camouflaging with the the woodland that surrounded them. "Huh, weird..." She said, voice barely above a whisper as she scanned their surroundings.
-
While in the portal, David knew exactly how the vex travel through space and time. As he stumbles thought the gate, he finds himself in a setting he never expected. D: Whoa, whoa whoa. What is this place? Beachball gimme the deets G: We're not on any map of known space and time-- D: This must be one of those realms the vex keep locked out of time. Could it be? G: Seems like it. D: Let's just hold that thought, we need to focus.
-
Artemis turns toward her new comrade, a huge smile bursting behind her helm. She grabbed his shoulders, giving them a tight squeeze. "So it's true!"she exclaimed with pure happiness, something she hadn't felt in quite a long time. She marveled at the structures around them that once flourished in its time. "Hope you're ready to take notes!"her voice light as she walked under and arch, hands grazing over Vex forms that were stuck in time. They seemed different, their build more ancient, hands chillingly human..her ears perked up, a pit settling in her stomach as she looked back at David. Something was wrong.
-
David, while pleasantly surprised, he took point and was ambushed by 4 goblins hidden between the frozen statues. The hunter quickly slided behind the vex and unleashed judgement in the form of shotgun pellets. They all fell in a matter of seconds until a Minotaur and 2 harpies teleported in front of him. He pulls out his trusty Hawkmoon and hits both harpies dead in their red eyes. He lobs a grenade at the Minotaur and finishes the kill with a throwing knife. D: Reasons you should never scare me, Exhibit A.
-
She let out a laugh, clapping her hands in applause at his performance. Walking up to him and patting his shoulder. "Remind me never to scare you."the huntress laughed, walking past him, this time treading carefully. She took a more serious tone as she turned back, unsheathing her hand cannon from its holster. "This place could be crawling with Vex...you watch the left and I the right? This way there will be little to no chance against us getting off guard" she suggested, loading her revolver.
-
The hunter, a little winded but nevertheless in a happy mood replies to Artemis D: Alright, let's do that. Beachball, would you mind videotaping this? G: Oh sure, now you tell me. D: Hush beachball.
-
Artemis nodded and began walking, weapon tight in her grip, finger on the trigger, ready for any sign of more Vex. Hey eyes scanned the environment carefully, watching for anything out of place. "Video feed is smart"she quipped, nodding in approval, her eyes still focused on their right side.
-
With his eyes as wide open as they can go,analyzing each inch of what his eyes can perceive, he replies to his partner D: Well when you're currently busy trying to keep yourself alive, you don't really have the luxury of taking the time to write things down on a notepad.
-
"You have a point there."she laughs, suddenly stopping in her tracks as her eyes landed on a vex slip stream. "Get ready, we got a wave coming in."the huntress pointed out, her Fatebringer leveled and ready to shred the mechanical bodies.
-
Edited by Straight Fish: 4/29/2015 2:16:25 AMWith a fire raging inside, David eagerly awaits the next wave of vex. D: Well then, my Hawkmoon's ready for anything and I was going to be real disappointed if no mora action comes my way.
-
"You and me both."she said fiercely. The huntress aimed down her sight, the first bullet successfully hitting the glass eye of a Harpie, it's body exploding due to the heavy round. She wasted no time as she dodged a goblins melee, getting underneath and stabbing it in its core, the broken light fading in its death. Two more rounds and two more fell victim to her precision as she gracefully dipped through and fought her way through the wave. A pile of broken bodies lay in her wake as she gave her companion a thumbs up.
-
Admiring his partners work he quickly rushes to the next room. He encounters some 5 Or 6 vex. Pulls the trigger 2 times and two hobgoblins fall. He then switches to a machine gun and proceeds to mow down the rest. Only the Minotaur stands only to taste the steel of the blade D: That's about right. How big do you think this place is?
-
Her eyes turn upward to the sunless sky, trying to gauge an estimation. She shook her head before turning her attention back towards him. "Who knows? It seems to be endless..."she answered, pausing mid step." But rumor has it, this leads to the Black Garden..massive fields stretching for miles past your line of vision."
-
the warlock is still watching...studying...silently and almost invisibly
-
D: Well Artemis, in my years of being a guardian, which are about a good 3 earth years of chasing legends, relics, and myths, I do believe that we have found the black garden. As David makes his way up an incline he immediately feels a dark presence deep in the area below. D: Look Artemis, you see that over there? I'm sure you've heard of the legends of the birthplace of the vex. The Heart of the Black Garden is below us. I can assure you that it's probably the most well defended vex structure right after the Vault of Glass. Tread carefully Artemis, I've come to like you over the past hour and I would not like to lose someone else. (I'll continue in the morning, awesome RP man)
