Can't get past level 26
I'm having trouble getting past lvl 26. I've done plenty of strikes and few Eris bounties and a lot of regular bounties. I have rank 1 Vanguard and FWC. Do I just need to get them to level 2 and 3 to really do anything?

Edited by SithLordD: 4/17/2015 7:58:35 PMThe main thing is to get to vanguard level 2 so you can start buying armor. Then you need to grind ROC strikes and get enough marks to buy all legendary gear. Once you hit 30 you can run Crota on normal and get light level 36 gear. It's just a big grind, stay strong guardian! Also don't bother leveling you're vanguard gear to level 31 since you will replace it with raid gear anyway.

Do eris too if you have the dlc. Youll get arm piece thats 33.

Yes you need to rank them up to 3 then purchase the armor.

Do bounties to build up vanguard rank. You need to get to rank 2/3.Then do ROC strikes to get vanguard marks. Now buy vanguard armour, with this maxed, you can get to level 31

Buy legendary armor with your marks.

The most straightforward method is to do a ton of strikes to build Vanguard rank. You will get some legendary stuff as drops/rewards, and when your Vanguard rank is high enough, you can buy whatever else you need. All legendary armor (helmet, chest, arm, leg) when fully upgraded gets you to level 30. You can also do this via Crucible if that's easier for you than PvE. By then, you may get an exotic piece of armor in a drop or if not, you can buy one from Xur. If you buy from Xur, be selective and consider the perks and stats heavily. All legendary + one exotic, when fully upgraded, gets you to level 31. To get to level 32, you'll need raid armor.

Just keep ranking up your Vanguard, accumulate rep and Vanguard marks, then purchase Vanguard armor.

You'll need to start building up vanguard armor, and that will require ascendant materials. For those, do at least 1 public event daily. The daily stories also give guaranteed ascendant mats (more at higher difficulties). The weekly heroic strike is also good for this, he more difficult the better. Eventually you'll get to nightfalls. Definitely work on your vanguard rank and do the daily bounties. when you get to level 27 try to jump into the weekly and nightfall and the Crota raids, that raid is where you will get the gear to level you up to 32.

Farm ROC strikes for engrams and potential exotics

Rank up the vanguard to L2 and get grinding for those marks so you can buy the legendary armour.
