Hand cannon wise tfwpky is solid, word of crota if you're running raids. Honestly nothing touches the exotic hand cannons though and I would be using them all until I got good with them. Red death is good pulse wise, 3 little words 2 shots but the fire rate is too slow for me. Found verdict is still a very solid weapon. The problem is against felwinters you're going to get out ranged. The vendor has a secret handshAke with shot package and hammer forged that is very good also. That will give you more range but not felwinters range. The main thing with shotguns is learning to close distances and knowing where players are on the map with use of the radar. It's also different then sniping and the areas you'll hang around are slightly different. Practice will help sort this out. If you're using a shotgun I would use thorn or hawkmoon. That covers mid/close range. If you're using a sniper I would use the last word to cover shorter - mid range engagements since your special is really a long range weapon. Still there's a little learning curve for that weapon it is fun to use though. In regards to sniping icebreaker is rough for follow up shots. Learning to use something like the ldr will make you a better all around sniper. Check out some videos on swipe sniping and some other techniques to help iron out some practice goals. Typically you'll want to get the reticle adjusted head high then use the left stick to strafe over the head. Obviously different situations call for different techniques but getting the basics down and learning from your mistakes will help a lot here. A lot of trial and error. Hope that helps a little.
