Question for people who play(ed) Vault of Glass often
I've never done a Vault of Glass, but I'm interested in doing it. For the experience, the drops and most recently because I want Atheon's epilogue. Does Atheon's epilogue drop often? In both hard and normal mode?
I got the Thorn Bounty last week and I'm stuck at the 500 void points in crucible. I think it's doable with a void primary, but I don't have any....

EDIT 2: I'm on Xbox 360 and I'm from The Netherlands (Holland). Just telling because of the time zones. If anyone wants to add me to do raids, sweet! :-D I have a level 31,5 hunter. It's my only character. So no void grenades and supers, which makes the Thorn Bounty not easier...

Regardless of your level, do VoG normal before trying hard. Just to get a feel for it and learn the encounters. Wish I could run it with you but I'm on PS4. Good luck!

It seems to be a gun you get a lot from Vog or one you never get. I am in the group that always gets the primaries and Found Verdict from Vault. I have never gotten a heavy or the sniper or fusion rifle. A couple of the guys I run with always get the sniper or a heavy from Vault and a couple of them have never gotten Atheon's Epilogue.

I got it on Normal the very first time I did the Vault of Glass.I've had it 3 times total I think.Some people have never gotten it,so I'm not sure about its rarity.

Hello fellow dutchman. VoG isnt hard so dont worry about your level. It isnt hard, but if you want to prepare yourself, just watch a couple of vids on youtube so you get the rough idea of how it works. After that, it is just learning through practise. Dont expect too be good at it straight away, but after a couple of try's, you will get the hang of it and it will be easier every time you do it. About the drops, there is no guarenteed drop so getting it on first or second run is all based on luck. For me, it took around 18 completions too get VoC and that was my fifth raid weapon back then. 1st was foun verdict, followed up by machine gun, sniper and vex. And for thorn bounty, i would recommend using word of crota. It kills more easier then AE, even before the weapon patch. Especially now, i think AE will he way underpowered for it. But happy hunting. I myself am xbox one so i cant help you myself. But i think you will get alot of reply's here from ppl that will help you so it shouldnt be a problem. Just make sure that they will explain strategy's too you and how the area works. Just so you can learn.

AE is a fun gun to use, got it on my first VOG completion but if you need a good void to finish the Thorn bounty, I would go with what others have said. Either a good void shotty, I use two to the morgue, or even hope for "Corrective measure" dropping in VOG for you. I have that as well and it's the best for oracles.

It's different for different people. I have a lot of Vog completions on hard. I've literally only gotten AE once. My friend on the other hand gets it every time.

What system are you on? My clan can bring you through normal or hard no problem if you're on PS4. I've gotten 2 Atheons in about 10 completions, along with 3 Praedyths Revenge void snipers. Got one Epilogue from both difficulties. The Revenge is good for Thorn bounty because it's very stable, plus precision shots cause targets to explode

I only got Epilogue to drop once, on normal mode. I've played VoG enough to have the Vex drop five times but I've only ever seen the one Epilogue. I recommend normal mode, the loot table is smaller so you have a better chance of getting it.

1 ReplyWord of Crota would be better than atheons epilogue - AE was terrible before the patch. If you're on ps4 add Coxynator, we usually have a spare slot or two for raids that we try and fill with inexperienced people

I seem to get it everytime I kill Atheon. And honestly, use a void shotgun. Back in the day when the epilogue was fresh and nerf free it was a great weapon to use in pvp. Now it's a fully automatic marshmallow gun. You will die more times using it in pvp. The crucible master has a really good void shotgun. Buy it and use bounties to unlock it's perks. It's a really good pvp shotgun. Also use class abilities if a Titan or warlock. Void grenades almost guarentee a kill every time u throw one.

Just use hard mode You tube it so you see everything Use destiny lfg.net say your new and a helpful person like me will take you through simple easy so listen and learn by your second run through u won't need help anymore

In my experience, it's not that common of a drop, but you should still try to do VOG anyway. It is the funnest experience in the game. Way better than CE. Also, you can get a void sniper called praedyth's revenge. It drops pretty often and is a good sniper for the crucible. It might help with the thorn bounty. If you're on PS4, let me know, maybe I can help you find a raid group.

I used preadyth's revenge for that bounty for a majority of my kills. The epilogue, even before the nerf, was a BB gun. I took maybe 5-10 kills with that. I'm used the truth as my heavy, proximity detention and best tracking. That racked up 10-20 kills. Id suggest a good void sniper, control, and a little bit of planning/camping. Pick a control point a,b, or c, obviously a point controlled by your team. Find a good line, and snipe 2-3 guys before moving. Move to the next point and repeat. I averaged 50+ points per game with this strategy, more on some and less on others. Took 8-9 games this way.

Honestly mate, the Epilogue will not help you, it was pretty lousy in crucible before the nerf and since the nerf it will just get you killed, I swear. You'd be better doing the normal Crota CP and trying to get a Swordbreaker, other than that equip any void shotty/fusion and a void machine gun and you will be fine. Word of Crota would be better for you if you are high enough to get into the hard Crota raid (but again it's not essential)
