World Cup: USA vs Ghana
Today is the day for US soccer fans, USA gets to play our World Cup rivals Ghana.
They have knocked us out of the World Cup the past 2 World Cups. In 2006, they were the deciding game and knocked us out of the Group Stage. But in 2010, the USA won there group. And head to play Ghana. They then knocked us out for the second time in a row. This game may not be a knock out game, but both teams will be playing it as one.
For the USA a new era of soccer is starting. The Donovan era is over, and now we search for a new era. That new era could come in the form of 19 year old Bayern Munich product Julian Green, if he plays and produces. Our team is a younger team, with several veterans, and several newcomers (especially in defense) and several German-Americans that were on Germany's radar at one point. We will see what our team is made of now. Our weakness is our right side, so we will see if Ghana has done there homework.

Who is winning? I'm not sure what to predict, this game could go either way. But i think the US will win. Donovan has predicted a 2-1 win to US.

5 RepliesI only watched the last 30 mins but this what i got from it... -Defense looks fairly good with strong physical players but Ghana ain't no liverpool when it comes to attacking threats. They also play a fairly deep line due to the back 4s lack of pace which means its harder for a player to get one one one with the keeper but does mean attackers get within striking distance. - Passing isn't the best, one or two loose balls which is asking for it with germany, I also question their ability to do long balls into the box as getting close to the german goal won't be easy. -Midfielders have some pace but i fear for them against germans mid which in my view is their strongest part of their team.
