Garden of Salvation Red Border Drop Rate is just Bad
The Red Border Drop Rate is horrible. I know you guys start out by being stingy like you have in the past and then coming back and say "We've increased the drop rate" but this has got to stop. It's a waste of our time. People are getting frustrated and do not want to do it getting double armor pieces to drop when doing challenge. I have a clansmate that did 35 1st encounters and got one border! It's creating an atmosphere of animosity towards the game. This needs to be addressed as Red borders should not be this low of a drop rate especially when the last boss has two drops of armor and one weapon.
At least make Garden of Salvation farmable all season.

1 Replyi don’t understand why players think that all red borders need to be done in a week.. it’ll be back in a month or so, just relax. you’re unlucky is all. i got like 6/7 pieces of armor (and around 5 non red border weapons) last night doing 1st-3rd encounter with some challenges, but i’m not going to ask bungie to weigh my drops just because i had bad luck. farming red borders through cheese strats is already making it simple enough, you can literally get 2 drops every 3-5 mins at third encounter. this raid has been around for years with basically zero people playing it at any given moment, and now that everybody in the community has the mindset where they “just need to grind out the patterns” and never touch the raid again, it will go right back to where it was (dead raid) after a few rotations.

I wouldn’t put it past them to have dropped the drop rate for 1st encounter. You can grind that crazy fast with 0 checkpoints needed. It’s one of the raid encounters that has held up the worst over time - I think Morgoth is the only one worse… I know it was by far the fastest and most done grind back when people were grinding the raid last time - when raid rotator was first released and getting a good roll on the Fusion or Pulse was great.

2 RepliesIt’s absolutely is not bad at all. I did two hours last night of multiple encounters and got about 13 red borders throughout, five of which being the pulse.

5 RepliesEdited by Poison: 10/22/2024 5:58:28 PMI don’t see the point of going after these weapons. Maybe the pulse for pvp, the auto its probably the only thing I would grind for it and maybe the handcannon. Anything else is not worth going after.

Edited by Magiscene: 10/22/2024 12:36:39 PMBased on my experience this week the first encounter drop rate is tge worst of all 4 encounters (1 red border after six hours is just ridiculous). I think the rest of the encounters have a higher chance because of how long they can be. I wouldn’t be surprised if they specifically tuned the rates to be very low because of how fast this raid can be completed (thank you speed runners lol) I personally just farmed 1st and third encounter since they can be cheesed super quick. Second and fourth encounter take to long to farm so I’ll just do the raid once a week for the two guaranteed red drops.

I did 37 runs for that bow. Best part is the challenge chest wouldn’t transfer my loot even if I had a slot. I log back in and see my post is full. At the tippy top is a red border. Wonder how many legit drops I missed. That’s how I finished, by checking DIM 🥲

Don't you worry. Crafting will be gone soon enough, and then they can spend 135 runs for a good roll. That's a good solution, right?

They learned from Last Wish, they just want you to do the quest every week instead.

At least for me it feels like way too much armor is dropping. I got 5 chest pieces in 6 back to back full runs that included two encounter challenges.

I don’t think I’ll do it…did farm last wish 1st boss many times to get all red borders, just to realize my game experience wouldn’t be affected without those.

Kek great way to re use old content. Get people to run a raid that barely anybody knew how beat the final encounter. Peak Bungie.

It’s absolutely horrible how bad the drop rate is! As for the challenge, if you do it you should be guaranteed a weapon drop from one of the two chests.
