36 RepliesEdited by ΞsnΛχΞ: 12/24/2023 10:01:32 AMIncoming BS from all the super gud players who soloed the boss without a well using nothing but a turkey baster. The truth is: The boss fight is awful. What a concept of difficulty that is to begin with. There’s no cover - yes, I know there are those boxes but there’s blight on the ground everywhere so it’s not exactly cover if it kills you to stand there - there’s a f-ton of ads, some seeking projectiles go around corners and barricades, boss health pool is just a chore in itself and the stomp mechanic makes it almost impossible to stay close. But yeah, I’m sure you stood right there emoting him to death. You all need a fkclng reality check.

Nobodyis forced to cheese anything. You're going to find this jarring, but standing in one spot against that boss is a bad idea. You will, unfortunately, have to employ the use of your right stick or WSAD keys, respectively.

Edited by YATM: 12/24/2023 2:33:55 PMIt’s a very easy boss room if you take it slow. Doing too much damage too quickly spawns multiple waves of ads. Spread out and do moderate damage to the boss until adds spawn. Then stop attacking the boss and clean up the adds. Any time those pyramid things show up stop and shoot them all. If you keep them down, the floor stays clear. If the boss starts coming at you, stop shooting at him and avoid him while the others continue. Don’t panic if you get tethered, just shoot the orb. Rinse and repeat. My fire team figured this out late last season and went from dreading this GM nightfall too easily clearing it in 30 minutes. The taken meatball is the only part we sweat now. Also having one strand suspend build makes the tormenter a cake walk. Tether helps in the boss room as well. I recommend 1 well, 1 tether, 1 strand/suspend.

1 ReplyEdited by ARKMAN279: 12/24/2023 6:40:49 PMWhat’s happening to you is your not controlling ads, and not clearing the darkness by shooting the darkness swirls, have one person on ad control and clearing those at all times have them run an lmg with bonus reserves for the damage type the lmg is on legs run two reserves, tell them to use that for the knights only have them use special and nades on the boss two people doing boss dps is plenty if someone is controlling ads and clearing darkness zones, you’ll find it quite easy if you do this, for the ad clear using primary with some kind of damage over time like incandescent volt shot unraveling rounds, etc etc… and honestly a suspend build through strand imo is top tier for this persons job.

1 ReplyWould you be willing to listen to any advice on how to do It legit? Or is this a scenario like when your wife or gf is venting, and you're not supposed to offer a solution just listen?
-
You can do this legit, but people will cheese no matter what if a cheese is available. Just look at riven.

I still sword dude down in well and bubble

6 RepliesDestiny 2 limits creativity and problem solving. And whatever creative ways the community comes up with to tackle a problem, Bungie isnt too far behind with the nerf hammer. Baldurs Gate 3 lets me polymorph a tough as nails enemy into a sheep and boot them off of a cliff. Now Im not directly comparing the genres here, a CRPG and FPS are way too different to do so, but I wish Bungie actually was creative with their design and let players get away with certain things.

5 RepliesI'm lactose intolerant so I can't cheese.
-
They need to quit reworking strikes. They just make the experience worse.
-
2 RepliesI don’t like 🧀 It taste bad
-
1 ReplyIt’s actually easy if you don’t try to nuke the boss and take his health in chunks.
-
9 RepliesNo ones being forced to cheese it, people are lazy and want to cheese it. It’s easy to burn the boss down as he spawns.
-
Just bake him. Tis the season after all
-
5 RepliesThere not forcing you bro, it's an option to cheese. There's a difference.
-
Ain't no one forcing anything you snowflake. If people wanna cheese let them who cares.
-
1 ReplyShoot the four diamonds that spawn in around the arena, it keeps the taken goop at bay.
-
1 ReplyCheese exist for the casual players. It also provides insight to the problems of boss design to the team. Lake of shadows is pretty much that. Small arena, lava surrounding and annoying boomer knights. The boss fight lacks flow.

defo dont need to cheese this gm its very easy and chill meatball takes 2 shots to kill you with 100 res and void resist and concussive and if you have woven mail to it takes 3 shots from the meetball to kill you main mistake people make is to not kill the adds at each third of the booses health. All the ships can be blinded and the tormenter can also be blinded for an easy kill the boss room is very relaxed just rotate round the room making sure to kill all knights red bars and darkness nodes then just chip damage boss and keep on top of add spawns wish you luck in completing this gm

You can do it without the cheese . The strike has many things that Bungie did to make it annoying . The gun ships with tracking missiles as just one example, floors that kill you , meatball boss with purple one shot balls in GM mode. The list goes on . They through the kitchen sink at this one. Its so obvious they got upset how easy it was before and are showing you they could make a mean game if they wanted. Just cheese it and move on, or do it the correct way . Some strikes are just not much fun to play. But easy strikes are not fun either. I like them all.

Did you played Lake of Shadows? Where do you stand during the boss fight?
It's a word a 10 year old child knows the meaning of yet it's a daily occurrence on theses forums where players say they are forced. Yet not one can explain how they are forced.
-
6 Repliesyou can stand at the starting point and nuke the boss in 15 seconds
-
Edited by Axolotl_Roadkill: 12/24/2023 9:14:26 PMIf you can't instabake him - you move....
-
The original strike was insanely easy to the point it could be done in sub 5 minutes so instead of revamping it in an interesting way they just put a bunch of taken blight on the floor so you're basically forced to either use Well of radiance/Bubble or go up to the cheese spot lol
-
Idk if it’s been reworked again but after the first rework with the darkness pyramids and mini bosses throughout, I just face ranked boss with rockets and a well.

1 ReplyEdited by jhermannITJ: 12/24/2023 7:51:39 AMThe blight rotates... you can incrementally dmg boss, rotate around with the blight. The adds are health gated, if you don't rush... It can be safer. The highest priority targets are the knights & dark crystals when doing it this way. Or, you can nuke boss from the jump. Boss can be stun-locked in many ways like with burning maul while the other 2 DPS. You only need 1 wells cycle... I farmed tonight for a min w this strat.
