Inexcusable

Once again we have an update that has issues and as a result the game is shut down because of it. A timeline has been set for an update and ready or not that update is released to meet that timeline. This continual pattern is what Destiny has become. I cannot believe there isn’t some algorithm that can run the updates before release to make sure that they are clean of issues . Is it possible that these updates aren’t current and were built into the game years ago and had been set to become active at a designated time ? Then is it possible that they aren’t tested prior to their release because of to much faith in the system? Someone needs to take responsibility and own these repeated failures. Then that person needs to take the necessary action to change this pattern whether it be a shake up in employees or delaying release of the updates until they know they will run as they were planned . As it stands they come across as a company with people -blam!- don’t know what they are doing either by lack of experience or worse, they just don’t care. Either way it’s inexcusable.

  • Bungie did a great job. People on here can’t stand that every single bungie employee is smarter and more successful then they’ll ever be. They try to compare themselves and their jobs to make them feel better. Laughable GG Bungie. Keep up the kick -blam!- work!!!

      •
Someone needs to take responsibility and own these repeated failures.
It won't make a bit of a difference, I mean they have some of the fans believing they have been staying up all night working on these problems they caused for not testing their product, trying to get people to feel sorry for them. I've watched this business for a while especially these last 4 years making all kinds of false promises like they are doing now with LF trying to keep players from canceling their pre-orders. This is the business that called their player base a liar and shut down the trackers to cover up the truth that they lost 80% of the player base with the base game/CoO, and they got caught throttling XP only to come up with some nonsense to try to cover it up and got caught again. So tell me, who is to take responsibility when this business is trying to push their nonsense onto the community? Hell, it's 8 years later and they are still blaming everyone else for their outdated P2P. This is how bad things actually are, playing on a players weakness to try to cover up their faults. I had enough of the "poor Bungie" nonsense. The player base has been paying a business that is doing only half, if that of work because they are content on the minimum effort using an outdated engine/P2P, and not play testing their content.

              • When D2 is down you must do what other Destiny veterans do: launch D1 and play that game. I had a great time playing Archons Forge with other gamers and revisiting planets. Keep this in mind for next time. It will happen again some day.

                • LF will be a waste of money as It's pretty damn clear that the devs have no good intentions of improving the game to benefit the player base as it only has 2 years of life support left. Each to their own.

                  • No. Mistakes happen in every business. They have fixed it for the moment. However I expect some honest communication about what went wrong. What I am more concerned about is stability of upcoming Lightfall expansion. Will we run into same/more/less issues? Currently I am left with the bad feeling of buying a pig in a poke. Gambling.

                      • Everything I did yesterday before the game crashed is gone, like it never happened. Bungie didn’t fix anything, they did a hard -blam!- reset and didn’t tell anyone. What a bunch of scumbags.

                        • Their blatant disregard for how they run their operations is astounding to me. Its clearly poorly mismanaged and they are in over their heads. I refuse to give them any more money (which I haven't since destiny 2 release). I took a two year break to come back to two weeks of being able to play and then they broke the game (and from what I read its not the first time since D2 release!). I have been playing since Destiny 1's beta test. They've always been like this, and you can't figure out how to get over this flaw??? Why wouldn't you roll back to the previous patch and reschedule another push after you actually test the patch before launching it. Planning, I know its a wild concept for some but they need to get their act together. Shame on you, Bungie. I will offer some (free) time for them for consultation to review their operations and help them manage better. Its really not difficult to figure out creative solutions to be operational and still test improvements.

Repeating the same actions over and over expecting a different outcome is the literal definition of insanity. ⬆️ This is us by the way

                          • So in your opinion is better that they just kept the game online and make the rollback even worst ? Because its literally what you are saying I prefer them fixing stuff and not act like everything fine like halo did

                            • I found it hilarious that it took 20+ hours to fix what was supposed to be one weekly reset patch. I did find Destiny 1 to be quite fun with the Heroic strikes and unlocked Explosive Payload for my wonderful and thankfully kinetic Palindrome. Destiny 1 is still amazing by the way.

You have an addiction!!!! Grandstanding in the forums for copium is sad. Either delete the game or buy enough Sony shares to effect change or shut up.
