you have failed me bethesda
i knew when microsoft bought you out, something was gonna get screwed. but even then, i held out hope for you. because that’s what i do for my fave game company. i give you the benefit of the doubt.
when you announced starfield, i couldn’t be more happy! i was practically jumping for joy! the game i had heard so much about was finally coming to light, which was all i ever asked for at this year’s e3.
but then... you took that happiness and smashed it under your boot when you announced it was xbox exclusive.
seriously? what is it with game companies limiting certain games to one console? shouldn’t you WANT to promote your game everywhere? let EVERYONE no matter WHAT they play on enjoy the game you’ve worked so hard on? instead you limit your player base
and that just makes no sense to me
now i either have to shovel out money to buy an xbox just to play starfield when it releases, or probably wait a year later to play it on playstation (if you even allow it to go to playstation) and just settle on watching all the xbox owners have fun
you have failed me bethesda, and now i’m not so sure i have any hope left for elder scrolls 6

I thought it was basically a given that it would be exclusive :s The plus side of this buyout is Microsoft might not let Bethesda be as lazy as they have in the pass and actually kick them to release a working product. But just make a Cloud account and play it on whatever device you want. Problem solved.

I am not happy about it nor am I sad about it, but I am certainly not suprised. MS bought Bethesda to sell Xboxes and games for XboX and Windows PC's, that is their business model it is how they make money. Sure some of their games do come out on PS4/5 but those were already anounced for PS as well. I suspect you won't see ES6 on Playstation in the future, just like Mc Donalds does not cook burgers for Burgerking.

5 RepliesExclusives sells consoles. Has been this way since gaming consoles were invented, and it will be a selling point for a long time to come. Let Microsoft (and Nintendo to a lesser degree) have some good exclusives. It is good for the competition, and sparks innovation and the desire to produce quality in companies. I have a ps5, but will be getting a Series S for on the side with game pass, just to play MS exclusives next year. So their strategy is working.

I had some friends reassure me that ES6 won't be exclusive but I'm seriously doubting that... [spoiler]Temporary exclusives is one thing but permanent ones? No.[/spoiler] 🤞 That Starfield and all their future games won't be permanently exclusive to Xbox/PC.

lol while true exclusives are ass the untargeted seething of this post is just a delight. Well atleast Xbox exclusive means PC too. And seeing how Sony has their exclusives set being mainly on PC is just getting better on the games.

Think about like this: if the game is so good you can be justified to buy an entire xbox just to play it, then the game is going to be an instant classic. And if it fails, then hey, you just avoided buying an xbox. Sony pushed a lot of ps5s with that Demon Souls remake. Just think about how many awesome games are exclusives compared to how many aren't: Halo Anything with Mario in it The entire Legend of Zelda series Metriod Pikmin Smash Brothers Donkey Kong Uncharted series Last of Us series Bloodborne Horizon Zero Dawn The new Spider-man games God of War This isn't to say that all exclusives are good (Crackdown 3) and all non-exclusives are bad (Jedi: FO), but exclusives tend to be much better because the big wigs at Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo are putting money and pressure on these studios to make these games incredible. A lot of stEAl, Activishit, and Ubisucks promising games flop because these companies are more interested in making quick cash off of microtransactions and fancy trailers rather than building their franchises' reputation as amazing games. And for you xbox folks, it's probably the reason you have Game Pass. Sony kicked Microsoft's butt so handily in the Xbox 1/Ps4 era that they had to find other means to sell consoles before all of their customers went over to Playstation. Since Halo 4, 5 and the Master Chief collection kinda sucked, the Xbox 1 fell into obscurity while the Playstation 4 landed some of the coolest games of the era. If Microsoft didn't do something drastic (like Game Pass), i'm not sure if the series X would even exist right now.
