So, I just returned to this game after a break and I find half the game is gone, look, I get removing unplayed modes or destinations to keep the game smaller and more manageable, I do but the weapon sunsetting stuff is daylight robbery.
I spent money to buy the expansions and unlock this content, then I spent time improving my weapons and armour, for you to just take it all away from me?
An extra annoying thing is you still present the game like all these things are still available but then make the useless.
What a scumbag move this is, seems like you should've stayed with Activision, I feel so wronged by this, my time and money wasted, are you going to refund me for all the content you took away from me? Of course not, you don't care, you just want people to pay more money for stuff that should be in the game.
I can't believe this is acceptable to people, I won't spend another penny on any product you release ever again and I have been playing your games for the last 20 years.
I really think you need to do right by your players, stop been scummy and let us use the stuff we paid for, you essentially mugged your player base.

4 RepliesWe wanted a excuse to do the grind and obtain new god roll items instead of just using the same ones season after season infusing them to the new power cap. Bungie listened to this feedback and provided a reason.

The new weapons are by far better then the old ones or have some sort of equivalent maybe actually play the game next time

2 RepliesEdited by McBoo-YAH: 6/14/2021 2:59:08 PMI love how people are still complaining about sun setting when A: its stopped but what it did is not reversed B: it was a thing in d1 and that game was better in many aspects including the fact the you eventually stopped seeing certain guns *cough cough* felwinters *cough cough*

Okay, once again, you do not buy everything in Destiny. Bungie sells you a license to play their game. Therefore, they can do what they want with it, whether we like it or not. Sure, playerbase may not be happy about, but it is what it is. The days of "buying" a game are long gone, for the most part.

This man just woke up from a coma. Should've seen this place before the beyond light dropped.

27 RepliesGTFO 🤡. 137 hours on steam max character 1201. 51 hours on Xbox max character 1283. You have not invested shit in this game to complain.

Sunsetting makes the decision to come back even harder for veterans.

11 RepliesLooks like they ran out of ideas. So decided to milk the game and let you pay for content. They took away your old guns so you could pay for newer guns. That's how I look at it. They are milking you up to pay for newer guns. Money makes the wheel go round. Hamster wheel, that is.

33 RepliesEdited by FL00FING AB0UT: 6/13/2021 5:43:23 PMKnow what’s crazy? I still will never support sunsetting, but I’m beginning to see why it’s unsustainable from a development standpoint to allow everything to exist indefinitely. It is incredibly difficult to continue putting out new items that create enough draw to engage players to farm activities for the new items. In order to get players to pursue something new, it has to be objectively better than what players have or else no one cares or wants it. It’s hard to keep topping everything previous without eventually making something so over the top broken it makes everything else irrelevant. I’m beginning to see how powercreep is a legitimate issue. Example, Riiswalker IB shotgun can have the best range for Lightweight shotguns and is in the kinetic slot. It’s desired because it’s range and previously vacancy for the archetype in the slot. NOW what? How do you top that? I will never support sunsetting, but I’m intrigued to see what other solutions they have for this issue.

6 RepliesDamn, they even reversed sun-setting and we have ppl like you who still can’t move on lmao

Sunset was made just because of a selected few guns, why not make what you guys did, but left alone guns that nobody used? You guys destroyed *HOME OF THE LOST* and *Belfry Bounty*... those 2 guns are fond to me, i really like the EDZ, you know how many months it took me to break the 1000 kills at pvp with those guns? Because of what? Not forgotten? The recluse? -blam!- sunset these guns and leave alone harmless guns that people took the time to master it!!
-
Sunset was always in the play....d1 had sunset,d2 year 1 got a sunset....and they talked about a sunset for months before sun setting a handful of weapon but decided to stop it at that Stop acting like a entitled kid that is angry now because some weapons got sunset months ago.... Loot based game and MMO always got stuff like this with older weapon staying behind for the new stuff You barely play and you do surface level activities so I'm not sure why it matters to you .....

i think weapon sun setting was a good idea (small rant ahead). First of all, they unsunsetted most of the armor and weapons from forsaken and shadowkeep. With new rolls. you can play the game-and recieve the rewards. you might just want to have your CoO or Warmind guns, but bungie just wants you to use the new ones like INTENDED. I overall think sunsetting was a good idea in the current expansion.

It isn’t acceptable, that’s why we complained so much they had to revert, too late for many of us and our favorite guns, but hey, we won in the end. At least mountaintop is gone. These forums were flooded with comments like yours. So, welcome back.

2 RepliesWelcome to Bungie; You have no rights, play nice.

16 RepliesDid a lot of the weapons deserve to be sunset? No. Am I okay with it because it took Revoker and Mountaintop out of most people's inventories? Absolutely.
-
5 RepliesThose guns had to go sorry to say for the game to go on we had to lose them. They are bringing in some spicy new combos that u need to give a chance I know it sucks but I myself am having a lovely time with the current sand box

Not only was this announced long ago, but was implemented a while back and later sunset itself (ironically enough) recently. Long break or not, screaming at them now will do absolutely nothing. Activison would've made no difference on the decision either because, if you forgot, they literally did the same thing back during The Taken King (and back then, not even exotics were exempt from it). You can also still use sunset gear if you really want- it's not like they straight up purged all of the old gear off your character. They capped it to let newer gear shine, and frankly, the newer gear isn't half bad if not better than a lot of old gear. As far as the possibility of reverting what was affected goes though, unfortunately, that's irreversible now that most people have already gone and deleted their old items. Even attempting to revert what's left would bring up an even bigger shitstorm since it almost entirely benefits just hoarders or people who were on hiatus prior to S10.

4 RepliesEdited by Double07: 6/14/2021 4:03:00 PMWhat if Bungie made you buy silver to unsunset them?

Edited by Aisar: 6/14/2021 4:25:44 PMThis doesn't seem like an issue any more but I can see if you just logged in and all you had was old stuff then yeah guess what all your ish is trash lol. Time to play the game and get lots of new stuff.
