I’m all for Truth in Destiny 2. It’s absolutely got its place in the Crucible, it’s super fun. But it should be outright banned in Gambit. There’s no reason to run any other power weapon because it’s -blam!-ed up the balance so hard. Gambit was my favorite game mode, but Reckoning was garbage and burnt me out on the game, so I ended up taking a break from the game for a few months. I came back super excited to play Gambit again, only to find that it’s nearly unplayable. If someone invades with it, and no one on your team has it, you’re shit out of luck. You’ve already lost. If you invade and someone has it? Enjoy your trade, if you’re lucky to even get that. It upsets the Gambit balance so ridiculously bad that it’s rendered every match into a game of who sees who first IF both sides even have it. If they don’t, the side that does automatically wins.
TL;DR Truth is a one shot kill from across the map that you don’t even have to aim. It’s an invaders wet dream and worst nightmare all at once. If you don’t have it on your team in Gambit, you lose. If you do, there goes any fun of invading.

Tbh Gambit was the mistake. Just another activity category that competes for balancing.
-
Ok. As someone who loves invading and spawn killing invaders more I'll help you out a bit. You can somewhat force the invader spawn to your preference and spawn snipe them. Also its important someone play sentry when invader portal is active for this specific reason. If you dont you deserve to get team wiped.

1 ReplyBro to avoid it jump behind something once you see its tracking on you find cover immediately it will block it
-
1 ReplyAwwww listen to this little school kiddie cry about the truth!
-
1 ReplyYa well too bad its designed for truth and hunter golden gun invaders

2 RepliesYOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH

12 RepliesI agree but the issue isn't Truth but invading balance in general. Invading is pathetically easy due to Heavy Ammo and Supers. People don't care, they'll hog Power, use Sleeper/Queenbreaker/Truth/Hammerhead/Whatever the weapon will be in Shadowkeep, and just get easy kills. Invaders shouldn't be able to do that, ever. One of the most exciting and rewarding things I've done in this game is beating all 4 opponents when invading using only Sturm loaded up with Overcharged bullets. But me doing that was unnecessary, despite how fun it was, and despite how EARNED it was. Invading SHOULD BE DIFFICULT. You have wall hacks, an overshield, and the support of EVERY OTHER ENEMY THEYRE ALREADY FIGHTING. You don't even NEED to kill people sometimes, you can usually just tap them a couple times and the enemies they're fighting will finish the job. Heavy is overkill, but it's the easier way to do, and I agree, it's TERRIBLE. People would enjoy Gambit a lot more if every Invader used Primary and Special only, and was a huge badass who has earned the ability to 1v4 an entire team.

5 RepliesUse anything but limit number of invades a team can do in any one match.
-
Everyone has relatively easy access to it. Fight fire with fire.
-
1 ReplyEhh Queensbreaker was way worse. Tracking on Truth is trash.
-
11 RepliesHave you heard of the concept of hiding when someone invades?
-
I dont use it. win agaisnt people that use it all the time
-
Agreed. Bungie nerfs our favorite stuff and adds the cheesiest stuff to replace them.
-
1 ReplyYou must have not been around for sleeper and queen breaker
-
100 Army Of One Medals, Dredgen Seal and all the pinnacle weapons, before truth came out. All i can say is thank god.
-
Gambit is the mistake. You just can't handle the TRUTH.
I'll let myself out
-
Truth needs a nerf to the # of rockets you get from the Heavy pack. Should 2 at most and maybe even 1. 3 almost guaranteed kills is too much for the invasion balance.
-
4 RepliesStop standing the the damn center with the boss. Truth is a LINE OF SIGHT weapon. Meaning it must have line of sight to lock on and then travel and hit you. It's biggest weakness is that LINE OF SIGHT. Invader on the field? Did they just take out a teammate with Truth? Did they get you last time? Okay, you know what you're dealing with now. Move away from the open areas. Find the invader. Keep an obstacle between you and them... Truth is an awesome weapon, but it can be countered fairly easily once you know about it.

6 RepliesThis is true but u lose quite a bit by caring a heavy exotic that at best gets 2 kills
-
1 ReplyI don’t use it but I don’t mind it either. I love going up against a team that thinks they are all invaders lol. They can never kill their on ads or prime evil. The truth can’t shoot through a wall after all.
-
Truth makes Gambit bearable; as a great counter to invaders. Also very good for envoys and boss.
-
If you play a titian just use ward of dawn and pistol whip the -blam!- before he reloads. Easy as pie for me, cause I dont follow the meta of games and play gorilla tactics with my titian. Step in my. Bubbles and get knocked the -blam!- out I'd my motto.
-
LUL! Were you not around when players were hitting chest shots with queenbreaker and getting headshot kills? You could miss all your shots and get a headshot. Come on now.
-
Gambit was a mistake.

The ammo economy on Truth is so bad. Yeah you get kills easy, but Jötunn and Hammerhead both enable better performance in the end. Cheap? Sure. Effective? Not that much.
