I said this a while back and i'll say it now.
This whole debacle would be resolved if you would just KEEP SPIDER'S PRICE FOR CORES AT 10 SHARDS EACH!!!

Personally I think they are prepping up to monetize cores. Why the heck else would they have this stance. Kind like treating them as xp boosters to level up gear?? 😐
-
There are dozens of solutions to this problem IF Bungie wanted to deal respectfully and honestly with player time investment. The fact is that they simply DON"T....and yesterdays move to shut off a pipeline of cores that defeats their STATED intention to kee the game under-supplied....is just proof of that.

So that leaves the question of "What shall we do now?" do we keep pressing? Do we loosen our grip on this? I'm honestly at a loss of what to do now

You might not like what I'm about to say. Just stop playing. I did this and I just recently came back because I wanted to try and get Black Armory gear. As soon as I do I might just stop playing again. I'm not liking the atmosphere this company is providing. The Revelry event just doesn't look interesting to me. All of that new gear are just reskins yet again from the Terra Concord, Icarus Drifter and Tesseract Trace armor sets we've had. I just don't get it how these people can just sit at Bungie HQ and think this is ok.

You're in a relationship with a party that is trying to use and exploit you rather than engage you in a manner that is mutual and respectful. When that happens you have to understand a couple things. 1. You can't control them. People (and organizations) ONLY change when its in their interests to change. (Not yours). In most cases that only occurs when the pain and negative consequences for their staying-the-same becomes worse than those associated with changing. 2. You have both a right and responsibility to yourself to protect yourself from their bad behavior. So instead of asking "What do I do?" Ask yourself "What do I need (that I have the power to give to myself)?" The answer to that question is usually whatever you need to feel good again, that DOESN"T require the other party to change what they're doing. IOW, YOU DON'T TRY TO CHANGE THEM. YOU CHANGE THE SITUATION BY CHANGING YOURSELF AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO **THEM**. In my case...what I needed was to stop allowing Bungie to openly disrespect me....and my time. As my leisure time is LITERALLY my most limited and precious resource. So back in January, when the nature of what we were dealing with became clear I did several things. 1. I immediately cut back on my engagement. I've gone form being a full-time player of three characters that were being kept current....to being a part time player of ONE character. 2. This game is broken as an RPG. It is in fact, nothing more than an arcade shooter. So I PLAY IT AS ONE. So I no longer play this game as an RPG. I don't play the Milestones. I make no effort to level up my characterse. I play whenever I feel like I want to shoot aliens in the face...or when there is a specific toy I want to get (the Omolon SR)...and to get the Friday lore dump with Invitations of the Nine. That is the level of engagement that I'm content to maintain with the game in its current state. 3. The cost of my Annual Pass is a sunk cost. Bungie has that money, and there is no getting it back. But they will get NO MORE of my money, as long as THIS is the product that they intend to produce with it. This product is UNSATISFACTORY as an RPG...and frankly Bungie ought to be embarrassed. Never mind stubbornly trying to defend it. 4. I go play other games. I'm having a blast playing The Division 2. So much so that----when I'm not here----I'm really not losing any sleep over how Bungie is mismanaging their own product. They have a big problem on their hands....especially now if this business about a core exploit are true.....and I wish them luck in solving it. Bungie...I love ya. But I refuse to live like this.

Disagree. Making cores anything but scarce reduces the impact of masterworking gear. The only real solution is to remove them from infusion.
-
Exactly, which is why I favor removing Enhancement Cores from Infusion over just handing out cores like candy.
-
I don't mind them to be scarce, just, want them out of infusion. When you masterwork, that should be meaningful. Not infusion to raise light level.
-
Exactly.
-
yes, there is no middle ground here , infusion cores needs to go away or the players will

Edited by SaintVictorious: 4/10/2019 7:37:58 PMWhich is slightly ironic to me personally, because middle ground is I find myself advocating for middle ground the most. But I just don't see a good and effective solution here that isn't removing them from infusion. What's more, people who are pro-core don't have a real argument for them other than being fanboys. The most they can come up with is how to best manage what cores take away from the experience.
